Updating my review. 8 months later I'm currently at 70 classes completed as of today! I honestly wish I was able to come everyday but that's not in line with my schedule right now. I've tried other studios since and this is still my fave! I love the class size. I love how every instructor teaches me new things. They're all super amazing and I love the hours that they offer. All of the instructors I've had are amazing! Nicole was one of my first instructors I learned from! She's awesome! Ive also scheduled with Aaron, Erin, Mel, Momo, Adriana, Erien, Vanessa, Jase, Kristy, Kiki, Tim, and Madi who are all amazing! Again, I go whenever my schedule permits so it's always changing lately but they're all so good you can't go wrong. Tim's class was prob one of the harder classes I took along with Momos! But you feel so proud of yourself after. But you can always modify to what you need especially because some days you have more willpower than others! read more

Always a guaranteed shake with Be Fit Hillcrest! Especially Erien's class. Her playlist is 10/10 and I always see progress after every class. She pays attention to the smallest details and corrects your form. Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before class so you can find parking in the lot, it's usually busy. I love that this be fit location is much more spacious than the other ones I've been to BUT a caveat is that when the instructor is on the other side explaining moves, it can be hard to follow along as a beginner due to the huge pole in the way. Regarding the studio: This is a solid modern pilates location. My favorite instructors are Erien, Aaron, Madi, and Erin. They remember names and aren't afraid to correct your form. Everyone is friendly and the classes are engaging. I wish there were more mirrors on the walls to check form. Specifically, the back wall with the pride flag would be great with a mirror. Also, there is no private bathroom for this studio. They share one with the plaza which requires a code, and can be inconvenient if you need to change before class. Regarding Modern Pilates v. Lagree: I came from a lagree studio in LA and loved it, so ofc I wanted to continue in SD. When I looked up lagree studios near me, BE Fit popped up even though they advertise themselves as modern Pilates. I've been going here now consistently 2-4 times a week for a little over a month. The main differences I've observed between a certified lagree studio and a modern Pilates studio is here they utilize the Pilates ring, 3lb weights, use different names for moves, and some exercises incorporate movements from Pilates. The reformer is also different but functions exactly the same. Only thing I don't like are the front handle bars. They are at an angle so it can hurt the wrists when doing a move like a catfish. Also, my palms get sweaty and they will slide down the handles. You can rotate them inwards to be level, but it will affect your range of motion. This might not be the case for every studio, but I prefer how BE Fit teaches modern Pilates over how my old studio (Motivate) taught lagree. The workouts here are tougher and the instructors are creative with their routines. But be prepared, almost every class will have a twisted crunch at the back for over a minute that will kill you lol read more

I absolutely love Be Fit. I am newer to pilates and found Be Fit on ClassPass. I've been a hot yoga member for years at some nearby studios but nothing beats the workout of this pilates class. It's clean, roomy, and they do not overpack classes which is important to me. The instructors are helpful (even for beginners like me!) and assist with checking your form and ensuring you are doing things correctly. It's on the pricey side but my experience on ClassPass made me get a monthly membership with BeFit instead :) it is worth the investment. read more

LOVED LOVED LOVED. This was my first ever Pilates class and my instructor, Momo, made sure to kick my butt! The room has ample space between each equipment and is very clean. Simple movements turned upside down and really had me embracing my core and stability strength. If you're thinking of trying Pilates- this is your sign to book a class!!! I am a workout class fiend. I love trying new classes and different types of workouts. I came here with my friend because she goes here often, and I signed up through classpass. They limit the amount of students that attend on class pass so you have to set an alarm to get a spot. This studio has a lot of reformers! I like these reformers compared to the traditional wooden pilates reformer because it feels more stable. I workout regularly but my abs and glutes were so sore after taking this class. The instructor was great and gave really good instructions, and was very encouraging! You have to check them out if you want to try the pilates on the max reformer ! read more

I am extremely disappointed with Be Fit and their lack of care for their clients. The customer service is by far the worst I've ever dealt with. I purchased a package at the end of July, and later realized I had accidentally chosen the monthly unlimited option instead of the 10-class package. I immediately reached out to explain the situation, even offering proof that I was out of the country for two weeks in August, which I had planned well before buying the package. Their response? A cold, "We don't do any exchanges." No consideration, no flexibility--they simply took advantage of the situation to keep my money. It's completely unfair that I lost my classes over a simple mistake, and the manager showed zero empathy throughout the process. Aside from this, Be Fit just isn't the same as it used to be. Many of the good instructors have left, and the new ones seem poorly trained. In my last class, the instructor only focused on one oblique, leaving the workout unbalanced. The whole vibe of the place has changed for the worse. Very unfortunate because I liked going there and referred few of my friends. Now have to find another place for my workout read more

Megareformer pilates falls into a category my husband refers to as, "a hot girl workout." There's something really special about a good, focused, results-driven 40/45min on these machines. When I lived in SF I got into this style of pilates through BodyRok and Core40, and have been looking to add it into my San Diego routine. I frequent the nearby Barry's studio but actually had no idea this studio was located in the Hub in Hillcrest till I found it via ClassPass late last night when I was looking for something new. The machines are top-notch, the studio is beautiful, and Francis was a fantastic instructor. I'm looking forward to returning soon!! read more

I love BeFit! I have been weightlifting for over a decade but this year I hit a wall. Coming to BeFit earlier this year made me fall back in love with working out. Whether you're a beginner or you workout regularly there is always something new to learn and challenge you. My first class was with Hailey B. and it was phenomenal, you can tell she loves to teach. Hailey is such a kind and helpful instructor, she does a great job at demonstrating and giving detailed cues. Any chance I have to take a class with Hailey I take it! Katie & Erin also teach killer classes. They both go out of their way to greet each student. Katie tries to remember everyones names and cheers them on throughout class, it is really sweet. Katie and Erin are both great at demonstrating movements and providing modifications if something doesn't feel right. I love that every instructor at BeFit plays an eclectic range of music, it keeps things fresh and fun. I highly recommend trying a class, it's totally worth its PS make sure to wear grippy socks and arrive a little early to find parking. read more

Be fit modern Pilates is my go to when I want to tone, work on strength + flexibility, and when I intentionally want to feel sore for total body. I know I'll feel it in my abs and legs afterwords and as their sign says, it makes it shake. Always a recommendation to friends and family. Some even say they feel it more afterwards than a HIIT class. The instructors I've taken are helpful with form, instructional, and very friendly. 10/10 read more

Do you want to feel like you just got abs with just one work out? This is the place for you! (no, you don't get abs right away...) I loved SolidCore and unfortunately, there isn't one in San Diego. This is very similar to it though. There are many classes available during the day and night, I def. appreciate 7pm classes during the weekdays. I have been here several times and the trainers are AMAZING! If it's your first time there, they go over the reformer (the machine) itself, and some basic moves. Don't worry, if you feel lost and looking lost, the trainer will come and help you during the class. You will def. feel some shakes in your booty, abs, arms, legs, everywhere. My legs feels like noodles after each class. This place is addicting and love coming back each time. read more

I received some Peerfit credits through my work and decided to use it on some Pilates classes. I've only had experience with Reformer Pilates so this was a great introduction to the Megareformer. I was so happy with my first class with Melodie that I signed up for another class the next day with Kimberly. The workouts were well thought out and the transitions made sense. Every part of your body is getting worked out. Both of the instructors were encouraging, helpful in showing the moves, and had great music playing. Importantly I didn't feel any shame for having to stop for breaks. Awesome workout. Facility was very clean. Ample amount of parking each time I went. Class times were all throughout the day so you aren't fighting to reserve a spot. read more

I have taken pilates classes before but I really like the machines they use at Be Fit. I work out regularly but my abs are sore for a couple of days after taking these classes. They really push you to the limit. It's a good total body workout but I feel it afterwards in my abs the most. I have visited through ClassPass and I highly recommend trying this studio. This studio utilizes the lagree method, which is a lot more challenging than reformer Pilates. This method focuses on low impact movements to really tighten and tone your body. It's challenging, but very effective! I'm always sore for about 2 days afterwards. I've taken classes mostly with Jonathan, who is a great instructor. He walks you through the movements, and counts down before every move to give you time to readjust your body. I've also taken a class with Momo, and really enjoyed it. read more
