Just wrapped up my second visit to SALTVAULT Hot Pilates and I'm officially hooked! This place has such an amazing vibe--the infrared heat, the pumping music, and the overall energy make every class feel like a fun escape rather than a workout grind. As a total Pilates newbie, I started with the Savor class (the heated one with those HIIT-style intervals) and loved how it pushed me while still focusing on controlled movements and core strength. The heat (around 85-105°F) gets you sweating in the best way possible--it really helps you flow and deepen into the poses. Today I tried Zest, their non-heated option, and it was just as challenging and enjoyable but in a different way--still super effective without the extra sweat factor. The instructors are great at guiding beginners like me, the classes are musically driven which keeps everything moving seamlessly, and the whole studio just feels welcoming and motivating. Never thought I'd be this into Pilates, but SALTVAULT has me excited to keep coming back and trying more formats. Highly recommend--whether you're new or seasoned, this spot delivers! I love the concept I love hot Pilates. I am a Pilates mover for more than 19 years. I love hot Pilates. I did it in several countries and states and cities. I bought a membership here under the impression that I would get a good workout which I do get, however I've gone like three times a week to four times a week and I've noticed all the workouts are literally exactly the same blueprints which kind of annoys me so if it's different Instructor, obviously they're trained by the same person so it's like squat squats plank, you know, bouncing climbers then back it's literally the actual same regime with a different Instructor every other day. I just wish you know you use a block or a band or heavier, weights, or just change it up because why am I gonna do the same workout four times a week with a different Instructor but the same workout it makes no sense. I kind of want to revoke my membership. That's constructive criticism. I want to be challenged so challenge me don't give me the same regime under a different Instructor. It makes no sense. I understand you're trained by the same person maybe however, change it up I mean I'm not sore and it's not challenging my muscles in a different way if it's the constant same thing I hope they take this criticism on board so they can change it because I need to change it. I'm gonna have to cancel my membership. read more

One thing I've noticed at several of their locations it that classes don't start on time as they are waiting for clients to arrive. They should hire someone to work the front desk so they can be respectfully of those who do show up on time and may have somewhere to be after. Out side of that, great clean and well equipped studio. Teachers teach to the beat which is nice but at times do the "sing songy" instruction where they are trying to match their words with the rhythm of the song which kills me lol. Tough but great workout!! I visited here for the first time yesterday and had Cayla as my instructor and I loved her energy the entire time. The music was great and the way she was giving out instructions made it easy to follow. The class itself though, phew!! I was drenching in sweat. They provide you with a towel and whatever equipment is needed for class - you just gotta bring your own water and yoga mat! They have cubbies for you to put your stuff in as well. The room is heated the entire time and the workout is tough. Great workout to do probably once a week and to get a good detox in and sweat everything out! read more

My friends and I recently tried this place out and we LOVEDDD it! We took the SPICE class with Kaitlyn on a Sunday afternoon. SUCHHH a good workout! Sooo sweaty. Good vibes. Great music -- might need that playlist! Everyone was super friendly and welcoming! The facility was very clean and we really appreciated the complimentary towels! We found parking on the street pretty quickly. I imagine the availability of that would depend on day/time. Bella, the instructor was really kind and really gave me a details about what to expect during the class. She even touched base with me afterwards about my experience as well as provide recommendations for the next class that I should take based on my fitness goals, preferences. I was able to get water from the stash. Having this available was so convenient. The class was very challenging. I took the hit class with the heat and weights. I consider myself to be fairly fit, but that was really intense. I personally don't know if I would recommend it for your first time. Parking was easy to find I think because it has been an early Saturday morning everything I have went. I saw that there were a lot of people in the class so I would have preferred there to be less people in the class and it to have more I guess individual recommendations or guidance during the class but overall, I think it was a good experience. read more

This is my absolute favorite pilates spot. I love everything about the experience. I love the heated classes and the pace of the class and the music and lighting. It's such a vibe. My husband was hesitant on mat pilates as he didn't think it would be that great of a workout since he's more of a weightlifter. He tried it out and LOVED it. We'd been going back every week until we moved away. He would sweat like no other and we always just felt amazing afterward. Plus we would go to juice alchemy after which is super close by. It became our little monday morning ritual and it was my favorite thing ever. I love saltvault for a great workout. Really enjoy the SPICE classes. It's a heated mat pilates class. I appreciate the padded floor, as there can be jumping, so it's nice for the knees. Additionally love the options and modifications offered. The music is always great, and I've always left feeling really good. read more

I'll start off by saying I absolutely love these classes. I think they're amazing but recently I was running about five minutes late because the parking is terrible or you have to pay for parking. Anyways, they lock you out if you're late and there's no way for you to get into the building and that's just what it is. You pay $32 for a class but if you're late even by a little you're locked out. This absolutely gives mean girl. I understand attendance anywhere is important but my friend who was already there had informed them that I was just downstairs, but they still couldn't open the door. read more

Cute studio in Hillcrest! Parking is easy to find and the studio is a quick ride up to suite 305. The SAVOR class is just my speed when I'm looking for a good core workout. Infrared lights make it slightly heated but very manageable as you work through the class. read more

SALT Hot Pilates is a great idea and combines my love of pilates and hot yoga! The heated room is an added push to the point where I'm dripping and when I leave I'm glad I came. I've been doing pilates for a long time using reformer machines and it's neat to do mat pilates in this heated room for a different experience along with weights and bands. The first class I took was Mandy's and she was awesome- did the Savor Class which is more of a HIIT workout and more challenging. Lately I've taken Nicole's classes and she's my fave! I love the lights, decor, and how they are great at instructing and correcting form. The Spice Class is my favorite for the heat and pilates push. Parking here in Hillcrest is easy with street parking and the garage they have at this office building. 5 Stars!~ read more

I love this studio! It's Pilates on mat in a heated studio. The instructors are absolutely 100% sweet, friendly, and helpful if you find yourself off balance or need help adjusting/positioning yourself correctly and safely. Bring water and an extra towel just in case! I find that Pilates socks help because I don't want to be sliding on my mat. They provide you with a towel and rent you a mat if you forget yours. I love that it's slow and steady, allowing you to truly feel each movement. Gives you an opportunity to make that mind body connection. Let your body do it's thing. All the tools you need are provided. Just bring your positive energy and let it all out on the mat. read more

I really want to love this place, it's only two blocks from me but after my first class I'm not impressed. I feel like they make it really hot just so you sweat so you think you got a work out. But I left feeling like I hadn't done anything. I took the savor class which is three moves for three times and sorry but a couple rounds of bodyweight squats and jumping jacks aren't really going to do it for me. I'm in pretty good shape and I do various other workouts and this is nothing compared to Lagree at elevate. If it weren't 100° in the room I definitely wouldn't have broken a sweat. The workout didn't even register on my whoop.... I wish they'd left out the jumping jacks and lame attempt at cardio and just had more abs and back. I was hoping this is going to be Pilates but it's not... There may be three Pilates moves in the class and I don't even feel that I worked my abs. The instructor was very warm and friendly. She made me feel welcome and she had great energy. read more

Wowwwww just wow. I will never ever underestimate the power of micro Pilates movements ever again. I left DRIPPING sweat. It's by far the best workout to lean out and tone your physique-- I mean, the whole staff is INSANELY FIT. With that said, they're the sweetest staff that also doesn't skip a beat with making sure you push your personal best effort. The studio itself is clean, aesthetically badass, and easy to find. Our friend is a pilates instructor and highly recommended Salt's Terrace workout while Covid measures are still in place. I've gotta say, it was pretty awesome! Not sure if it was the workout itself or the fact that you have an amazing view of the San Diego Bay outside on the second level of the Intercontinental Hotel, but I left feeling way better about myself than when I came in. They made it incredibly safe with tons of distance between attendees, and if you're still not up to doing stuff in person, they do streaming workouts online that totally give you the same workout just without the view. My very first Pilates class ever at this new studio and I picked the "Spice" class which I understood to be a heated room on a mat. I must say, first and foremost Pilates is no joke. I took a spin class before just so I felt like I got a good burn for the day and I can tell you this class was challenging for me and I'm pretty "fit". I was beat after and I can tell if found some muscles in my butt I didn't know existed before today! Bravo to all you Pilates Babes! Challenge accepted! Now the stuff you care about ... You will need a towel, possibly a change of clothes (trust me Brenda) and a yoga Mat. Class is taken barefoot. Not sure if that's typical- again first ever class :) The studio is really cute just in an odd location. If you are looking for a store front studio you will get lost. The building you need is a 3 story office building. *building is in under construction so don't be scared just the elevator to 3rd floor and hang a left to the back corner and you will find SALT. It's centrally located in hillcrest so it's walking distance to brunch and food. Parking is street parking but we had no issues finding a spot on 4th ave. There are some spaces underneath the building but they are a little small. The main area is a little tight when classes are changing over but they have lockers a huge bathroom with room to change and a large shower room, which is ABS necessary if you take the hot class! The class itself was high energy and challenging. The music is loud and the instructor did a greaT job of encouraging us to hold our butts tight and keep working that core. I applaud her for helping my friends and I as we were not the most coordinated bunch. Overall great experience. I will be back and hopefully that abs section will go a little smoother ! read more

Fantastic workout that leaves me pleasantly sore but does not create joint strain or pain. I have momentary struggles to figure out the moves, but all of the instructors provide timely and clear corrections, and I think I am already getting better! I couldn't seem to stick to any workout plan until I started coming to these classes. They're amazing, the instructors are all so helpful and encouraging without being too aggressive. I like the heat because I'm not the only one pouring sweat, and the workout tools needed are all provided, except for the yoga mat. If attending a class, just be sure to arrive as early as possible because parking is difficult with the road construction being done in the area. I've only gone regularly for a few weeks but I can already see improvement in my posture, physique, and attitude. Highly recommend this studio and instructors. read more

I am definitely a Betsy follower! She is truly the reason I decided to start working out years ago. She is extremely motivating and such an inspiration. Her studio is by far the best Pilates I have ever taken. She has even taken my favorite instructors around the city like Sara! I do have to say that every instructor onboard is challenging in the best way possible. I think that's extremely important when choosing a studio because you don't want to worry about taking a class where you won't love the instructor. The best part about this studio has been their ability to keep up with the constant covid changes.
