Stayed here for a weekend the rooms and interiors are very nice. Easy access to beach. I like how the pool is heated. I felt like it was unclear how to turn thr jets on in the hot tub. Valet parking is around $50. But there are some nearby lots you can park at for cheaper. Our toliet wasnt flushing and we had to request twice for someone to come address it. read more

Seabird Resort is hands down one of the best hotels in Oceanside. The property is beautiful, modern, and very clean. The rooms are spacious and well-maintained, and the overall vibe feels upscale but still relaxed and beachy. I booked using my Amex Platinum Fine Hotels & Resorts credit, which made the stay even better with the $125 resort credit and free breakfast. The only downside: the last two times I stayed here, I was overcharged and had to get the bill corrected. Nothing major, but definitely double-check your food and resort credits before checking out so you don't get surprised. The breakfast buffet is honestly overrated for the $50 price tag -- it should be closer to $20 -- but since it was free with my Amex Platinum credit, I can't complain too much. Overall, still a great hotel and one of the nicest places to stay in Oceanside. Just review your final bill carefully before you leave. read more

That's how my wife discovered The Seabird and also why we decided to split a week between Oceanside and San Diego. Overall it's a very nice hotel, especially the lobby and main floor areas. An Instagram worthy atmosphere with modern and upscale furniture with a lot of attention to detail. Like others have mentioned the pool area is also quite nice and family friendly with an adjoining bar and restaurant. The Seabird really shines as a family friendly hotel. They have a program for kids and have daily activities for the little ones (at the beach and at the hotel). My daughter enjoyed making sandcastles and flying a kite for the first time. They have a camper by the beach that is a convenient spot to grab waters, get beach chairs and also kids beach accessories (sandcastle tools, balls, etc) which are complimentary. Another highlight of the hotel is their restaurant Piper. One of the best hotel breakfasts I've had and again very kid friendly. I was a Guest of Honor, so basically breakfast was comp'd the entire stay. The rooms themselves are just okay, more like 4 star accomodations than 5 star. Even though the hotel is not that old (3.5 years?), the furniture and certain parts of the room are showing signs of wear. Still nice rooms though. Also, as much as we liked The Seabird, I think we would only stay 2 nights in Oceanside instead of the 4 nights we stayed. read more

Attended a conference here and stayed 4 nights. The customer service from the valet parking attendants to the front desk staff was phenomenal. The pool area was my favorite; great spot to watch the sunset. The hotel is also within walking distance to many restaurants! Due to the conference, they cut the resort fee and parking cost in half which I was thankful for. The resort fee included chairs and umbrellas if you go down to the beach. I also ate in Piper which was the restaurant in the lobby and it was very good. Two downsides: the bed wasn't very comfortable and the elevators too forever! It was also a very long walk to the elevator from where my room was. read more

Not sure why people have this higher rated than the sister property. I stayed at both recently and everything from the rooms, the decor, the service, the staff all better at Mission. I would say this property does feel bigger for whatever reason and more inviting. Maybe it's that. I think the rooms were big but not well appointed. Would not come back. I attended a conference here and enjoyed 4 wonderful days at this gorgeous property. For a waterfront location, the interior always felt fresh and clean. The impeccable decor is perfectly coastal chic and executed splendidly. Every staff member I encountered was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and personable, from the front desk to housekeeping to the bar and restaurant personnel. Also, I had received a text on the second day asking everything was ok... I replied asking if I could somehow purchase tea bags and, within minutes someone brought tea bags to my room! This is Four Seasons behavior! The meals I had were very good, and the cocktails en pointe. Housekeeping was thorough, and timely, and the bed and linens were very comfortable. There was an issue in the balloon one day during one of our meetings when water started leaking from the ceiling. They sent someone to address it, and it never happened again. My main complaint is that the 2 elevator banks are vastly insufficient for the size of the property, and the issues were exacerbated by the fact that we couldn't take the stairs. Still, I've already told our event coordinator that I hope we return to this property every year for our annual conference :) read more

LOVED The Seabird Resort! I attended a work conference at The Seabird Resort and enjoyed a few days at the hotel. I arrived via car and the guys at the valet were efficient and helpful - off to a good start. Front desk was great - checked me in quickly and gave me a run-down on the property. My room was excellent - spacious, clean, modern, comfortable and nicely decorated. For our conference, we used the great room, smaller conference rooms and enjoyed breakfast, lunch, cocktail & dinner parties as well as snacks throughout the day - all quite nice. One evening, we had a private party upstairs at the Shelter Club. It was fun but our dinner was "meh." Fish, meat and potatoes type of stuff - I didn't find any of it overly appealing and I didn't enjoy it much. Also, there was only one bartender with a long line of thirsty partygoers impatiently waiting (however, service was excellent - the guy was really good!) The pool table was a hit with our group. The bar on the first floor was great - excellent service and a fun vibe. Overall, I enjoyed The Seabird Resort and would return for a personal stay with my wife (it was that good!) 5 stars read more

Beautiful view from this new-ish resort! Everything was clean and well maintained. I enjoyed my three night stay here and staff was nice and friendly, even when they cannot locate a hair curler for me to use. They made it very easy to enjoy my stay - making it a four star instead of three. There are three issues I had during my stay that unfortunately make the stay less than perfect: - The elevator can be very slow when there are multiple people calling it. For some reason, sometimes only one of the elevator cars would be moving, which I assume is some sort of program that was supposed to move people more efficiently. Alas it did not. - Beds were extremely soft. Not a good fit for those with back issues. - The motion sensor light in the closet would randomly turn on in the middle of the night, preventing a good night sleep. Apparently it's on a timer and turns off after 10 mins. Imagine if you are trying to go to bed and have to wait 10 mins for it to go off... I heard other guests complaining about it as well. read more

It was my first time staying at a "high" end hotel/resort and I will say we very much enjoyed our weekend stay here in Oceanside. We got the beachfront view for our King room and it was a beautiful view. The room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom was very nice, clean as well. The shower was quite large and there were two sinks with mirrors for each. The room came with complimentary Seabird water bottles as well as coffee and an espresso machine. That was a nice touch as I had forgotten to bring mine so I was caffeine happy haha. The 5/5 stars is mainly because of the location. It's literally a beach front hotel where you exit out the front and you can already start walking down towards the beach. This also extends into Oceanside as it is a very beautiful, peaceful, and un-crowded city even when we stayed on the weekend. It was very clean and no homeless at all and honestly, it gave off a relatively safe vibe. In addition the view and the beach, the next best part is how there are so many restaurants and snack shops within walking distance! We also at The Piper restaurant that's inside on the main floor. It is very quaint, quiet, cute, and romantic, all in one. Their menu is very small, but the quality of their food is top tier. You HAVE to get their Rigatoni Arrabiata, it is the BEST pasta I have ever tried. It was spicy, but my God, it was so good. Extra points because Seabird was able to accommodate my request for a gift, flowers, and a bit of decoration for our special occasion upon walking in to our room on day 1. We will be coming back in the future. I'm excited to try out other Hyatt resorts! read more

4.5/5 stars. Had a pleasant stay here in general. Service was fantastic, all the staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Location was so convenient, right up against the beach walk, and just a few minutes walk away from all the surrounding eateries and local businesses. Although I personally did not use the pool, it seemed very popular amongst the other patrons. It was also convenient with their in-house restaurant: Piper ($50-$100 a person) for dinner. Lots of kids here, and they do host events/large groups (for ex: we saw groups of kids with sports teams). Pro tip: Valet parking is quite expensive here to the tune of $50+ per night. Park in the lot diagonally (south east) of the hotel and you pay approx $25 per night instead. The lot allows you to purchase up to 3 days worth of parking at one time. Small problems with the rooms itself with random loud sounds during the night, maybe from the HVAC system, maybe also from upstairs neighbors? Lots of creaking, cracking sounds in the walls. The shower door has a small gap that leaks lots of water if you shower in the wrong spot. You can tell that's a problem area because the grout in that area is showing signs of mold. Also the bathroom sliding door did not close all the way, so you could not lock the door with it's locking mechanism. Did not personally matter with me and my wife, but could be a problem for other guests wanting more privacy if they're staying with unrelated people. read more

We have stayed at the Seabird many times, but this is my first review. We are local to Southern California and stay at the Seabird for staycations. The hotel decor is lovely, the staff are pleasant and accommodating, the rooms are clean and nicely decorated. I love that they have a service at the beach to loan out beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, and sand toys. It's really a gem hidden in Oceanside. Can't wait to return. read more

When things go wrong, there is no customer service. I booked a one-night stay here, and after waiting for hours past check-in time, my room never became available. They offered me a downgraded room eventually, but I requested a refund instead. The refund is still pending, and I had to follow up multiple times to even get it authorized. I was comped with chips and dip for my inconvenience, only to find that they ended up charging me for it anyway. I did manage to get that reversed after another outreach. After years of being a Hyatt enthusiast (and earning their highest Globalist status), and not feeling the love lately, I was ready to move on anyway. I stayed here in October 2024 for a work conference. I really enjoyed my room, which had the perfect setup for what I needed. Bed was extremely comfortable with fluffy pillows. Instead of the standard hotel desk, there was a table, which was perfect for meals and work. The only complant I had was that the closet light is on a timer but randomly went off a few times. Thankfully, it wasn't when I was sleeping but still. I LOVED the DryBar hair dryer, and the bathroom was set up nicely so that the toilet was in its own separate room. The lobby is nicely decorated, and there are plenty of places should you need a place to hang out outside of your own room. It was convenient to have plugs built into the furniture in the lobby. The gym is also very modern, and there were so many choices as far as workout equipment. Between treadmills/bikes to weights to core workout, Seabird had you covered. They also had filtered water available in all the floors, as well as the gym. The Seabird has a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean, and it is one block to the water. The Top Gun House is across the street. The hotel staff were really nice and helpful. I will definitely consider Seabird when I am on the West Coast. read more

It's more like a 3.5. It's a beautiful property and the staff are ok. But it seems like it's a pretty, new place that still needs to iron out the kinks. Check in was at 4 but we waited until almost 5 to get into our room. While waiting, the staff sent us to the third floor to get a bite to eat. When we got there, we were told they weren't serving food. Lugging our stuff back to the lobby, a phone call was made and suddenly they were serving food. Valet texting wasn't working which meant waiting for a car that wasn't coming. No one was staffing the restaurant. These are tiny nits, to be fair, but they start to erode a reputation for a hotel that charges $500 a night. Hope they iron out these things because they have tremendous potential. read more

What an awesome hotel/spa. Everything was perfect from beginning to end. Check in was seamless. The Valet and Bellhop were readily available as we pulled up. The Front desk team was super friendly and courteous. They had a welcome bag for our dog that Included treats, a frisbee and a bandanna (see picture). Our room was the Ocean View Premier. It did not disappoint with sweeping views of the ocean and pier from the room and the huge wrap around balcony. Sounds of the waves all day and night long if you wanted it. We were impressed how quiet the room was if the exterior sliding door was closed. This made for a great night's sleep. How totally awesome that there is an actual library on the premises. It's freaking beautiful and a rare find! The bed was awesome as were the bed coverings and pillows. Speaking of pillows, we asked for additional pillows, coffee and towels before our arrival and all were already in our room when we arrived. We stayed at the Seabird for 4 days and other than taking a walk for personal supplies or taking our dog for exploration around O'side and further south to dog friendly beaches, we utilized the restaurants and both Hyatt resorts. Seldom do you find a resort with this many excellent eateries. Our dog, Sian, (Shaun) was the Belle of the Ball. Welcomed everywhere and the resort has plenty of dog friendly areas for them to relieve themselves. Please remember to clean up after your pet. So many people don't and it's just not right for a resort like this that allows our 4 legged loved ones to stay. We're already looking for another trip to this terrific spot. Another note... You can feel completely safe at this resort. It's amazing how many entities are here to make the area clean and secure. We love O'side. read more

I love the Seabird Resort. I've celebrated my birthday there with my girlfriends for the past 4 years. It's stunning, great views, clean, and has great staff from the valet, to front desk, to cleaning staff, and beach attendants who set up our chairs and umbrella with a smile (shout out to Sam, Suede, and Christine). Note: sometimes there are some unhoused individuals on the beach though. They have never bothered us but just note they do tend to hang out in the picnic pergolas and they usually leave when more people come to the beach. The rooms are beautiful and so is the entire facility. Gorgeous lobby. The resort fees and parking fees are a bit hard to swallow BUT because of the beautiful hotel, friendly staff, use of the beach amenities, able to use both hotel amenities, and the day pass before and after check out makes it somehow worth it. There is a close-by lot for overnight parking on Meyers street for $15 but you need to feed the meter at midnight. I would do that if I was just spending the night but for a celebration I opted to use the valet. The young men and women who valet are very friendly, pleasant and polite. The pool is lovely and has great views. It it is very kid friendly just fyi. However, if you prefer less kids in the pool, the sister hotel next door Mission Pacific is a great alternative: smaller but even better views. It's great that you can go to both hotels. I am usually a Hermosa/Manhattan Beach girl but the Seabird and Mission Pacific has brought me down to Oceanside. I will definitely be back for my birthday next year. I have recommended Seabird to my friends, family, and coworkers. read more

They have large event spaces and a smaller library that could be used to hold private business gatherings. They also have a great restaurant and bar onsite. The rooms are nice and they offer robes and slippers for during the stay (can be purchased to take home if you want). I also liked that they had digital thermometers making it super easy to control and adjust the temperature. read more

Had a wonderful couple of days here that not even the rain could ruin. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, they even texted and emailed ahead of time to confirm our arrival time and ask about anything else we needed before we arrived. Our room was ready shortly before check in which meant we didn't have to wait at all and I appreciated it because we had our pup with us. Our king room was spacious enough to work and lounge which my husband and I appreciated given that we both were working remotely. My husband also enjoyed the fitness center and heated pool. I didn't use the fitness center myself but was impressed with how exceptionally clean it was when I took a peek, as well as the Shelter Club next door. The staff really do a wonderful job keeping the spaces nice and clean here, and were very attentive during our conference events. This spot would make a wonderful weekend getaway from LA or SD, highly recommend! read more

The Seabird is truly deserving of all its accolades. We traveled with two kids during spring break. Our stay was perfect and made even better by Tyron R. Each member of the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. The rooms are gorgeous! Our suite had floor to ceiling windows and looked out at magnificent sunrises and sunsets. The kind guys who worked on the beach were so helpful in setting up chairs and umbrellas. The pool has a great temp and never seemed too busy. We loved breakfast each morning at Piper (the presentation and taste was spectacular). The kiddos also loved the Family Room with the Pac-Man console and multiple games. I loved the new gym with great equipment! We are already planning our next trip here. read more

Came for cocktails and snacks. We sat outside by the fire pit tables at sunset so that was a plus. Good view. Good people watching. Enjoyed that. Our server was super fun and friendly. We had a few different cocktails and they were hit or miss. Food was ok with the exception of the oysters. They didn't know the variety but they were small and underwhelming. I had small shards of shell with about half and only 1 of 6 was fully shucked so it slid off the shell. All of the others were still attached. Since the flavor was subpar, I asked for cocktail sauce and they didn't have any. So that was a bummer. read more

If I could give less than one star, I would. I booked this hotel in June for a special trip with my daughter to celebrate her kindergarten graduation and enjoy a week at the beach. The property is visually stunning--the views, the rooms, the location are exceptional. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The service and integrity of the staff and management are appalling. My experience was marred by fraudulent charges that appeared well after checkout, and the hotel's handling of the situation was dishonest and evasive. Here's what happened: Days after we left, a charge appeared for lunch "at the hotel" on a day when we were 40 miles away, with my credit card records to prove it. After disputing that, a new "incidental food & beverage" charge surfaced--supposedly for food delivered from Shore Dining at 10:58 PM. The problem? The restaurant closed an hour earlier, and I had a sleeping 5-year-old in our room. These charges were not only false, but the explanations from management shifted each time I presented proof to the contrary. This is now an ongoing dispute with American Express months later. If you choose to stay here, protect yourself: * Photograph every receipt. * Decline to charge anything to your room, even if they insist. * Keep your checkout statement. * Monitor your credit card for weeks afterward. The setting might look like paradise, but the business practices are anything but. read more

2024 update (another stay at the same hotel): The hotel itself is decent. Nice view of the ocean if you get into a room with a view. Decent bell and front desk service. Nice looking pool and hot tub. Dog and kid friendly. Short walking area in front of the property as long as you arent out too late at night (it seems to get slightly sketchy a little past sunset on the street). The spa looks nice. But the breakfast experience, wow. It was a major negative given the quality of the property (3-4 star boutique hotel IMO). It caters to both the Seabird and Mission Pacific hotel next door, so that alone would cause congestion if all you want is a nice quiet omelette and coffee after you wake up. But getting breakfast here was super stressful: - The line stretched to almost the front door of the hotel by 9am on a Thursday morning, which is all the way across the lobby - If you are a Globalist, the card they give you states you get $40 credit but you have to go to the restaurant, so you cannot order room service and have to get in the line - Then, people in the line said you have to get reservations (like it is a hot/fancy neighborhood brunch place), and they said they got the reservation the night before. The server said they sometimes turn away "walk ins" - The place also serves the public, and Oceanside is a bit of a food desert, so apparently you are waking up, going downstairs, and fighting the public tourist crowd and the other hotel guests to eat breakfast - And to top it off, I got chilaquiles, eggs/pork (protein not included in the entree), and a coffee and it was $60. And I got attitude when one of the staff asked me to wait to talk to a host to get the required reservation to eat breakfast the following day, saying I had "only waited 8 minutes" (I waited 25-30 btw) The policy of no room service for Globalists (who mostly wont be a load usually on the table staff as many are busy and just grab to-go boxes, put their room number on the ticket with a tip and leave), along with asking guests from two hotels to go to one place for breakfast, while opening the same place to the public, and operating possibly short staffed, make the experience worse for hote guests. But hey, I guess they are maximizing the money the restaurant makes by having only one place for breakfast and seemingly not hiring enough people to operate it / overworking the staff. read more

Welcome to the Seabird Resort. This Hyatt hotel made it's debut to our ever growing and changing community of Oceanside. Taking its place near the pier. The Seabird reminds me of an East Coast boardwalk hotel. Cool grays, much wooden decor and cozy nooks throughout the property. It is really special in this way. Being the new kid on the block it has much to offer, We attended Yappy Hour at the Shore Room, had massages at Sunny's Spa and dined at Piper, each providing a new perspective. The Shelter Club on the rooftop has stunning views facing the ocean, it is hard to beat. However, the magic is gone, when you see the pool is over run by six to twelve year olds. The most offensive observation were watching the kids hoarding and playing in the hot tub. I would strongly suggest they have a separate section with some strong chemicals in place. Note: I will write separate reviews for the different services and amenities we tried, some quite noteworthy.
