We just got back from a 4 day trip in Vail, at The Sebastian. It was our 5th Wedding Anniversary, which they knew when we booked the room. We showed up being greeted by Valet(Victor)- Awesome guy! Then Adabel was working the front desk, and she was SO SOOO Sweet, Funny, Helpful, Complimentary, etc..! We were taken to our room to find out they upgraded us to the suite for FREE! An hour later we were surprised with a cheese platter, dessert platter and hand written note congratulating us on our Anniversary! We felt like we had known the staff for years by the end of the 4 days, and honestly wish we could have stayed longer. The service was impeccable, the room service was ALL delicious(we ordered a lot of different dishes), and the rooms, lobby, pool, everything was SO nice, clean, well-kept and classy. I can't say enough good things about this hotel, and honestly think it's what made our trip so special. One of the best 4+ stars hotels I've stayed at. Awesome staff-all are friendly and try to make your trip perfect. Our 25$/night parking fee was comp'd, our room (which was purchased for 100$/night on priceline) was upgraded with hesitation. The valet's and front desk staff were always nice and gave us waters when we arrived and other goodies. There was a free champagne and white truffle chocolate popcorn event at 7 on Friday which was fun, we showed up and had a few glasses and took the popcorn up to the room to have with our movie later. My GF had a headache and we called the front desk and they brought up some advil for us within 10 minutes. They hotel has a red box type movie rental hub with alot of new movies that you can get for free which was cool. Most hotels nowadays try to charge you north of 15$ to rent a movie in your room. Speaking of room, every room comes with a Nespresso machine so we made a ton of fresh espresso in our room which ROCKED! especially because it was cold and snowy out. Rooms weren't crazy luxurious or anything but were nice and clean with dvd players and the aforementioned espresso machines. We don't spend a ton of time in the room so it was exactly what we wanted. The Sebastian is our go-to hotel when staying in Vail. They are friendly, have an eye for detail, the location is fantastic and the rooms are super clean, well-appointed and maintained. There is a great hot-tub outside which is magical when it's snowing. The spa is lovely too, with steam rooms, beauty services, and we had a fantastic couples massage today! The room service breakfast leaves a little to be desired. Items were forgotten (which they remedied quickly) but the food was cold and dry, as if it had been sitting under heat lamps for hours already. The menu also said freshly squeezed juice, but it obviously wasn't. Otherwise, I love the hotel and the staff here. read more

The give you complimentary water, soda, and snacks on your room! The rooms are upscale, very comfortable beds. The food is excellent! My fiancé and I wanted to visit Vail for the weekend. We found a Groupon deal for The Sebastian and went for it. Upon making the reservation over the phone, fiancé mentioned our recent engagement in passing. We arrived ahead of the check-in time so they suggested we use their facilities (gym, pool, hot tubs) until the room is ready, which we were more than happy to do. Very nice spot to hang out, especially with the pool-side food and drinks service, but off-season in Vail means construction. A building was being worked on a few feet away from the pool which got to be a bit noisy but we were happy nonetheless. When we returned to the front desk to get our room keys, we found out we had been upgraded! In addition, within minutes of getting into the room, a bottle of bubbly showed up at our door with a handwritten note saying congratulations!! Hard not to love this place :) We were more than happy with the room, the level of service, and the overall friendliness of the staff. It is walking distance to everything in Vail. I have stayed at the Sebastian numerous times and my fiancé and I couldn't be happier with their hospitality! Everybody is so friendly and accommodating. We love coming to Vail and when we stay at the Sebastian we are guaranteed to have a great time!! Every time we come back we are welcomed by the valet and everyone seems excited to see us and of course our DOG too! In May we got engaged in Vail and during our stay at the Sebastian we received a complimentary bottle of champagne. In July we came back to Vail and were unable to get a reservation at the Sebastian over the phone due to a busy weekend, however after explaining our horrible experience at another hotel in the area Lance was our lifesaver! He got us an amazing room rate and waived our pet fee. He really went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. We are coming back to Vail this weekend to start some wedding planning and of course staying at the Sebastian! I can already tell it's going to be just has great as every other time. The Sebastian is a luxury resort with a lot of sparkle and soft carpets. The luxury ends in the lobby... or does not even stay in the lobby. First I need to say that valet personnel was amazing, friendly and delivered a great service. Also Victor in the reception was more than accommodating and helpful. It all kind of went down from there. It felt like they were really understaffed in a fully booked hotel. Long wait for service in the restaurant for breakfast. Out of their specialities two days in a row, I guess they didn't even bother to buy the ingredients... 7 dollar for 3 tiny bacon pieces. I know it's an expensive hotel but that is ridiculous. We needed to ad one more night due to our flight schedule and the manager in the reception promised to get back to us asap. After a whole day of waiting and 3 reminders they still had no answer... they found a room but it was to expensive so we decided to leave. Everyone is really nice but that does not really help. I valeted a luxury sports car at the hotel on my way to brunch-- the staff informed me that the charge was $20 and I had to pay up front. After returning from brunch, a different member of the hotel told me the charge was only $10 for non-guests and that the prior member had left for the day. Clearly, the previous gentleman overcharged (or made up a number) and required payment up front as he planning on banking the payment, and was leaving soon. I wasn't staying here, and now I won't be considering it in the future. read more

Absolutely outstanding - 5 star service and 5 star accomodations. They have paid very close attention to detail in this hotel. The staff is super attentive and very personable, the rooms are spacious, well appointed and very comfortable. All you have to do is mention somethign to the staff and they are figuring out a way to help you and make whatever you need happen. We checked in on July 5 and they were very busy with checkouts from the holiday weekend but it was crazy how every staff member we came across made it a point to introduce themselves and to welcome us (Including the GM). Take advantage of the Bllom Spa - treatments are fantastic The Frost Bar and the Block 16 restaurant were both excellent and in my opinion under rated from other reviews I have read. I travel hundreds of thousands of mile per year and spend about 125 nights a year in hotels around the world. This review will sound like an inside job...but is the real deal. I live in Denver and decided to get away for a few nights in Vail during the off season and I am so glad I did. The customer service was amazing during my entire stay (valet, front desk, bar, spa). Everyone seemed to genuinely enjoy their job and took pride in where they worked. The accommodations where extremely comfortable, adequate and clean. The gym has great equipment, the spa has several options, the bar has a very cool vibe and the pool area is beyond relaxing. The small extras in the room are a very nice touch. I will back for the Nespresso alone! Highly recommend and I will most definitely be back to the Sebatian! read more

I cannot express how disappointed i am with this place. This is a Motel 6 place at a Ritz price. I have been coming to Vail for years and always wanted to try the Sebastian. After many tries i convinced the family to come here. I was embarrassed by this hotel under preforming and under trained staff every single day of my 7 days stay. I had to spent hours driving them around and going to other hotels to eat because they did not want to spend a minute in this place. The rooms were dirty (i asked the cleaning staff to vacuum the room every single day for 7 days and NEVER did), the tub drain was broken and dirty with soap and hair residues from years of not cleaning it and they did not clean it neither (my sister was going to shower every day at my brothers hotel room across the street because she was disgusted by this and the dirty Jacuzzi, that has floating hair and debris for days). Then we have the food. Always not cooked properly and the tardiness of the staff that made us one day to just walk out of the breakfast table. The excuse we were given, Covid, that really pissed me off. So your staff dont bring me a croissant in the middle of breakfast because Covid that started 8 months ago??? Management you need to do better or do something else. Final drop was the tea issue. You dont get tea in the room, but you get coffee. So if you are a tea person, dont come to this hotel. The reason, you guessed it, Covid. Tea and Covid dont go together. After multiple calls a great looking lady with common sense from management came to the room with the tea and an apology note. We appreciated it, but she should train the rest of the staff. SOrry for the long review, never done such a long one, but I will be blame the whole year for ruining the family vacation after paying dearly for a 5 Stars hotel. read more

We travel often for pleasure and this is our second summer vacation in Vail. Last year, we spent a week at the Four Seasons, but since they were full this year we decided to try the Sebastian. We love hip boutique hotels and had drinks at the Sebastian's Frost Bar so knew the hotel had a cool vibe. The logo, branding, and lobby decor were extremely polished. Unfortunately, that attention to detail did not extend to the customer service. Something happened every day that could have been solved not by exceptional customer service, but average customer service. The hotel ambience is great, but it is more appropriate for a single person or couple than a family. They have no changing stations in their lobby bathrooms, their gym hours are very limited (9 am to 7 pm) and they only serve breakfast from 7-11 am. The second day of our stay, I asked for our room to be cleaned between 11 and 12 since we had an 18 month old and we wanted it to be clean for her afternoon nap. I came back from Vail Village at 12:15 and the room was not clean. I called the hotel operator and she assured me she would send someone immediately. I took my baby to the pool for over an hour. When we came back--the room was still not clean. I called the operator again and she said she would send someone immediately. I left the hotel (for the third time) so our room could get cleaned. When I complained about it at the front desk, their only answer was that they could have someone empty the trash and full of diapers so my baby could take a nap. I went over to the Four Seasons to wait for housekeeping to finish and have a glass of wine. One of their staff came over and started chatting with me; when I mentioned I was waiting for my room to be cleaned (at another hotel, mind you); he gave my child a free lunch and drink on the house and personally found her some books to read. That was the only reason I was not infuriated when I went back to the Sebastian. The last day of our stay, we had a lunch appt in Boulder and needed to leave at 9:30. We called to get our car and luggage 20 minutes prior. It took 25 minutes as my husband going down to check for them to get our luggage. When we got to the lobby, it took an additional 10 minutes for them to get our car. We didn't leave the hotel until 10:15. We left feeling like the hotel was run by kids. That should not be the case for what we paid. We will not be staying here (or recommending it to others) again. read more

I've been meaning to write this review for months, and just haven't been able to find the words to describe what a fantastic time we had at The Sebastian. My father used to work for Marriott and has managed several restaurants in my lifetime. I myself have worked in service industry before I became a teacher, and traveling is one of my true passions. Needless to stay, I have stayed in many, many 4-star hotels and never have I experienced such stellar service. We came in to spend some quality time together with plans to hike and enjoy the hot tub on site. The staff at the Sebastian helped us to orchestrate a fantastic weekend, complete with champagne in our room. The valet transported us around Vail, to trail heads, the gondola, and restaurants without hesitation, and recommended the best places to go for easy hikes, or wildlife viewing. Kiki at the front desk was without question the most helpful and friendly front desk clerk I have ever encountered in all my traveling. We loved the comfortable room, the great location, and the beautiful pool/hot tub area. We received poolside cocktail service as we sat in the hot tubs too! Overall, the service is fantastic, the location perfect, and I would stay there again and again. read more

I didn't dine at any of the restaurants but the pool, weight room, close proximity to the lifts make this place a dream vacation spot. They will take your ski equipment from you at check in and store it near the lift for your convenience at no charge. Overnight stay with dinner at Block 16. Was somewhat concerned with service issues posted in previous reviews but in our experience the service and attitude was excellent Granted we did stay off season so the Hotel was not busy. Rooms and location great, quite comfortable. Dinner at block 16 was very good, but not quite excellent. The food was prepared well with interesting sauces but the menu is somewhat limited, at least for my tastes. The menu does change frequently so be sure and check it out before you go. Plan on spending some time because although the service was attentive and courteous, the courses did take time. If you are in a hurry or have small children Block 16 would not be a good choice. Overall we had a very good experience at Block 16 and would return to both the Sebastian and Block 16. read more

This is my second time staying at the Sebastian hotel and this is the second time they promised to upgrade me as an Ipreferred member...but they lied to me over the phone and the receptionist tried telling me some run around story ... bla bla bla. Seriously, they flat out lied to me. The reservationist said I would get an upgrade from a 2 bed room to a 2 bedroom room since I booked the category just underneath and that the value of the room I would be upgraded into would be a $1300 value. Instead I got 1 of the bedrooms in the 2 bedroom room with a value that was equal to what I paid for...basically no upgrade what so ever. They advertise joining the Ipreffer membership program to have an automatic upgrade but its a sham. The room they "upgraded" us into was a closet space compared to what was promised over the phone with reservations. No hotel amenities, no water, not even an empty glass to drink from the tap with. The reservationist said she would only charge my card $75 FEE to reserve a room at $200, and with tax it would be $250, instead they charged my card $290 right away as soon as I got off the phone with them. It only gets worse...I ended up with a smaller room at a higher rate then when I came here in the winter time during the peak ski season. It makes no sense. Its off season...September for crying out loud. Then when I complained about being lied to over the reservations hotline for a fake upgrade...it was more like a down grade...they were happy to reimburse my stay if I chose to leave. If a hotel tells you they will reimburse your stay if you decide to leave..you know they are in the wrong. They over sold the upgrade to me over the phone so I booked a more expensive room telling me I would be upgraded to a suite (because I am a member) but instead they gave me a really bad room with no hotel amenities in it. What do you have to say for your selves now "The Sebastian"...a bunch of no good liars. I will never come back to this hotel or vail for that matter. If this is how you treat all your guests, no wonder you guys are empty right now. read more

Arrived in Vail late to join my girlfriends. My sister and I found them at the lounge in Sebastian's visiting with a couple others right at 1am. We joined them and visited for a few minutes, we were the only ones in there. The staff didn't greet us or offer us anything to eat or drink. Instead, they just began clearing everything from the table including the water and glasses. Not the best greeting after a long drive:( we walked up the street to get helped. read more

The front desk staff are not qualified to be in the hospitality business. They're too busy updating their social media sites and talking about what they're going to do after work. The valet is non existent most of the time. Our room was not ready upon arrival and we asked for our luggage to be stored. I didn't realize that the luggage was left in the lobby and not stored. Anyone could have taken the luggage. When our room was ready we asked for the luggage to be brought to our room. Again, no response from the bellman. My husband had to locate our luggage in the lobby and bring it up to our room. Of course, he wasn't required to provide identification. The staff was busy! FYI, housekeeping doesn't always empty all your trash cans. The ice machines don't work so you have to call room service. The concierge is also non existent most of the time and/or either checking out his social media post. I had the concierge cancel a airport transfer and asked for a confirmation which I never received. We were never offered rides to other areas of the resort. The staff at The Arrabelle offered to give us rides back to our hotel after visiting Lionshead Village. We were totally shocked by their graciousness and were surprised that they didn't even have an association with the The Sebastian. If you have to choose between the two resorts, THE ARRABELLE AT VAIL SQUARE, A ROCKRESORT is the way to go. read more

Best. Service. EVER. They attended to every need, knocking on our door minutes after asking. We brought our dog, and they have bowls, treats, and a bed all included in the dog fee. Our dog was free to roam almost anywhere, as the staff love to greet the dogs. The snacks and water are all included as well, however I do not know about the slippers and coffee. I live in Colorado and have been skiing in Vail for 10+ years. I have stayed at most of the properties there and I have to say that this is possibly the worst hotel in the area. I stayed at the Sebastian Vail with my mom, grandma, and sister in June. The service at the Sebastian Vail was incredible - probably the best at any hotel I've visited. They constantly seemed to be going the extra mile (not just delivering the luggage from the car to the room, but hanging up the sweater that had also been in the trunk; not just asking about our plans, but double-checking for us to see that everything would be open; early check-in and late check-out without any hassle; a reminder to stop by for "sparkle and pop" - free popcorn and champagne on Friday night; and the list goes on.) The decor is great - I heard someone else describe it as 'mountain chic,' which I think fits well. Lots of nice public spaces. The pool wasn't huge, but it was really beautiful, warm, and they provided poolside drink service. Plus, it's just steps to get into the middle of Vail village. read more

Although the rooms are a little on the small side the amenities are awesome. The pool is small but perfect for the hotel and the fire pit is beautiful. The hotel itself is a wonderful botique hotel located in a perfect part of Vail surronded by cafes bars and great resturants. However what I will always remember about this hotel is how nice the staff is. I was only here for 2 nights and everyone knows your name and treats you extremely special. The breakfast is great too. The only compliant I have besides the smaller rooms how slow the servers are at the bars and resturants inside the hotel. It may be because I am from the east coast but I had to wait 10minutes for a server to greet me at breakfast. Otherwise the hotel was excellent and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing experience. read more
