Blake was the service technician that arrived at my home this morning to address several plumbing issues I had, faucet concerns and replacement. He was very polite and respectful while in my home, even wearing protective shoe covers. He arrived at 8:00am as scheduled and spent 2 hours completing a "Home Diagnostic Inspection" which included examining all my hot water heaters and ALL plumbing fixtures throughout my home which I was not expecting. He then presented me with a service plan at $60 per month for a maintenance plan which gave me a discount on future services (10%) and a 50% discount on the service call fee of $119.00. He also gave me a bid on replacement cost for several faucets which I felt was a little bit higher than I was willing to pay. He said I could buy my own parts but the installation charge would be higher. I told him "Thank you but no thank you". He gave me a bid for the removal and installation of the 'Insinkerator' instant hot water dispenser that I had already purchased. The bid was extremely higher than I ever expected! But, the technician was here and I wanted it done, however I only elected to have ONE faucet replaced which made the price go up! Long story short, I was charged $815.36 for the installation which took One Hour and Fifteen minutes (I provided the part). In addition to this, I was charged $119.00 for the service call fee! I paid a total of $934.36 and 2/3 of the time he was here was spent on trying to sell me a service plan for my plumbing, H-Vac system as well as my electrical needs for $60 A MONTH! Then, you get a whopping 10% discount on the service call fee! I calculated that this service call was $12.47 per minute! I contacted the company customer service representative to talk about what I thought was an extremely high charge and all she could offer was that they have to pay for gas, tools and expenses! She also reminded me that I signed and agreed to the bid (she told me this 5 times). I told her I DID agree that that was their bid and I paid it! I did not agree that it was a fair price but I did not want to confront the young technician. I called HER to discuss the issue, to see if she thought that $934.36 for 1 hour and 15 minutes labor was fair. She did! After several years of flooding in my basement and seeking assistance from multiple plumbers across the area, I finally had someone come out who took my issue seriously. Mike was my Drain Tech and he was the absolute best. Not only did he take the time to really listen to my concerns, he was empathetic as he explained to me what needed to be done. Never in my life have I been so happy about having repair work done in my home. I am really looking forward to gaining some peace of mind. Others literally just came out and did what they were asked. If I suggested something or asked what else I could do, I was always greeted with a stale response. I'm a big believer that great service comes from a persons sincerity and how they treat others. I scheduled service because my two oven lights were not working even after I replaced the bulbs so I thought there was something else going on. Scott told me that I was using the wrong size bulb. (Pretty dumb of me). He said he would sell me two new bulbs for $10 each. That seemed expensive so I said I preferred to buy the bulbs myself. They are cheap. He then told he would reduce the price to $10 for both. I agreed. What he didn't tell me was that purchasing the bulbs from him advanced the service call from a diagnosis ($119) to a repair, much more expensive. (Pretty sneaky Scott). Instead of $129, which is what I thought I was going to be charged, I was charged $282 for the purchase and screwing in of two oven lights which cost about $3 each. I complained. They were not very nice. Theresa said that Scott was at my home for 53 minutes which was not true. He was not there more than 20 minutes. i noticed he sat in his car for about 15 to 20 twenty minutes before coming in. Julie told me that I was fortunate that Scott had the bulbs in his truck. Otherwise, I could have been billed for another service call. Really!! The Company returned part of my money. I believe they should have returned everything except the Service call/diagnosis charge. I have had a positive experience with this company. I had a speed queen washing machine that was having an issue and I was going to just replace it since it was out of warranty but, I thought I would see what they could do. They came out in a very timely manner and repaired the machine for a few hundred dollars. I hope it will now be good for several more years. I later had a minor issue with the machine and it was covered under warranty just like they said it would be. It's hard to get good service people to repair anything today. First time I used this company was fine. They always charge about $119.00 just to come out to the house. Any work needed is additional cost. The 2nd time I called them was for a toilet that I bought to be installed. The receptionist quoted $119.00 to come out but as usual couldn't tell me how much toilet installation would be. (Funny, another company gave me a complete quote on the phone). So they ring the doorbell, I showed them the new toilet (pretty standard), I ask how much, and they quote $950.00 above the $119.00 I'd already spent. I showed these scam artists the door and mentioned I would share their prices with all of our neighbors who attend our association picnic. $1070.00 is robbery for simple toilet installation especially when I'm supplying the toilet. (The other company quoted $250.00, 5 stars). Never come back!! This company sucks and I'm going to write the Missouri Attorney General about their practices just for fun this week. Like everyone in town, the recent torrential rains caused problems at our home. The rains shorted out a landscaping light which cause a section of our home to go dark. We called for an electrician and the dispatcher rearranged the schedule and sent three of their guys out within a couple of hours who quickly diagnosed the issue and were able to restore power. The response time was amazing, the guys took care not to track dirt into our home. The charge was more than fair, particularly given how quickly the company responded and the text notices, informing me of their arrival time. This is my new go-to firm for everything HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. No need to call anyone else. read more

So, we've been using these guys for 30 years and they have always been prompt, efficient and a decent value. I've noticed the past few service calls, their fees are outrageous. I'm not sure if they've changed ownership but, they just gigging people. I called them for a simple garbage disposal installation. The would tell me over the phone what they would charge, Home Depot quoted $145, so I figured it wouldn't be bad. He got here and said it was going to be $465. That's just his labor for what is a 30 min job. I balked and he came down to $422. I booked through thumbtack for $110. Won't be using CS anytime soon read more

Disappointing. We needed a dripping facet replaced so called Chesterfield Service. It took a week and a half for them to come. They charge $102 just to come over and quote. Then every other cost is in addition. They quoted me $325 to change out the faucet. Umm no thanks! Got a handyman over here to do it for $50. Chesterfield Service came to our house to repair a dishwasher. The technician noted a sprayer nozzle missing. He said he would have to fix the sprayer nozzle before he Diagnosed the cleaning issue we were having. He said he had to order a part. Three weeks later no part has been ordered. They charged us $112 he came in and took one look, said he couldn't diagnose the problem without out the part which cost $195. 3 weeks later no part had been ordered. I looked on the kenmore website and the part was $93. They said it they would "rush" it and could get it here next Friday, nearly a month after we first called them. So they were going to charge double for the part and another service charge to put it in and THEN diagnose the original problem. Seems they are running a service that seeks to exploit their customers and overcharge them. Very disappointing. read more

Watching a companies service vehicle try to go 15 miles over the speed limit to cut vehicles off means they also probably cut corners on their jobs. Plumbing and Drain review: The plumbers and drain guys refuse to work=discrimination... call the attorney generals office if someone implicitly or explicitly refuses to do work at your house=discrimination... they come out for the service fee only ($475) and make you listen to them talk for hours and miss work... (my back went out waiting for him to leave my house) the guy was so horrible he recommended that I do not get my dishwasher repaired by them either... if you don't like listening to a million excuses and paying for nothing--call Roto Rooters... actually he quoted me $30,000 to fix a branch in my line & I fixed it for $30 using root killer... my faucet leaks now that he left & it's a faucet he didn't even need to touch--they are nightmares... literal nightmares (a few months later, writing this at 4:00 am because I'm tired of literally having nightmares about the guy--I should've punched him in the face) HVAC Review: They did everything right! The price was fair. The service man was very likeable... a service call is $99 during regular business hours and $250 for emergencies... our AC broke Fri Eve so, we picked up a window unit at Home Depot for $159 & made it through the weekend without our 11 or so computers exploding during 98 degree weather... I called on Monday afternoon and was able to get an appointment on Tuesday afternoon... (it's a four hour window). If your AC stops blowing cold--shut it off! Remember to spray the AC unit down because he said it even makes your electric bill go down to have clean coils... we live in the frugal part of the county & my family is Nigerian & they treated us with the utmost respect! He quickly identified the problem with our refrigerator and gave me all the information I needed to make a well-informed choice for ordering the part or not. TLDR: They turned what should have been a 1-2 visit fix for a couple hundred dollars into now 3 visits at least, and I'm paying a service fee for each one. My problem still is not fixed and I would have been much better off simply buying a new dishwasher than having them come out. I do not recommend using this company. Full story: I contacted Chesterfield Service on Dec. 9, 2021 after my wife and I returned from a trip to find a pool of water in front of our dishwasher, and the machine itself full of standing water. Their sterling rating on Google convinced me this was the group to call. Their tech came out Dec. 13 and inspected the machine. He struggled to explain exactly what the problem was, to the point I had to call the office and ask someone there to explain what he meant (BTW, his English was fine, it was just that he literally couldn't explain to me what the problem was). It turns out the tech says I have a water valve that will not close completely, and so it is slowly leaking water into the dishwasher, which with its drain closed, slowly fills and eventually leaks through the door onto the kitchen floor. He needed to order a new water valve but not to worry, it would be in before we had guests over for Christmas. I was able to schedule my follow-up appointment for Dec. 20, so it seemed like all would be fine. I worked from home Dec. 20 for their 8-noon window, but at 11 I received a text informing me they would be coming over the next day. I called and they said the appointment was scheduled for the 21st all along... now maybe this was on me, but as I was on the phone making this appointment originally, I put on two separate calendars that they would return on the 20th from 8-noon, and now they're saying it was the 21st from 7-11... which I never would have agreed to, because I set my alarm for 7, I definitely wouldn't want them at my house that early. Anyway, two guys show up on the 21st and I point them to the dishwasher. They say they're not here for the dishwasher. They're here to fix a drip on the water shutoff valve under the sink. I tell them that wasn't the problem, the issue is the dishwasher. But they insist they have to fix this shutoff valve before they can fix the dishwasher, and oh by they way, they don't fix dishwashers, they're plumbers, and the dishwasher guy will be back another day (with another service fee) to work on that. I'm like, I don't need the shutoff valve fixed; it only drips a few drops when it's actually being turned but otherwise is fine. But they insist they cannot fix the dishwasher without doing this bit of work first. So anyway, this non-existent (under typical circumstances) drip gets fixed for nearly $200 and now I'm sitting here with a dishwasher that still isn't repaired, $400 in (with more still to come) and guests coming on Christmas whose dishes will now need to be hand-washed. I guess more visits = more service fees, so it's in their best interest to stretch this out as long as possible. Summary - I would not use this company. Their communication is terrible, from the techs explaining the problem to the types of service they're scheduling (I had no idea they were sending plumbers to fix a drip under my sink. I thought the second appointment was for the dishwasher). I would have been better off going to Best Buy and simply buying a new dishwasher. It would have cost less and everything would be done by now. UPDATE - The company contacted me and agreed the communication was poor, and have reduced the cost of the (hopefully) final upcoming visit to finish the dishwasher repair. I've upped the rating from 2 to 3 stars awaiting completion. read more

I hired Chesterfield Service to replace a motor on our range exhaust hood. The motor was approximately $1,000 and Chesterfield Service did tell me that it would be nearly $600 to install it plus $150 for the initial service call. I assumed this job would take several hours to justify the $600 for labor over and above the service call fee. The job took about 30 minutes. I received a very weak justification for this exorbitant fee and was told this was a national estimate for how long this job would take. I was told that the tech tech expected the job to take longer which I know is not true as I was on my roof with the tech during the initial service call and saw that he had very easy access to the roof mounted fan. This tech knew clearly this would be a quick easy replacement. With the charge for the initial service call I paid about $1,750 for less than an hour of labor including the time spent on the initial service call and a $1,000 small electric fan motor. This is the first and last time I will use Chesterfield Service as a result of this price gouging. read more

The Chesterfield Service technician opened the drain too quickly when draining an old hot water heater and flooded the first floor unit below mine. The flood resulted in $1,400 of damage, of which I had to pay the $1,000 deductible. Chesterfield Service refuses to accept any responsibility, even though 2 other plumbing companies have said not testing the drain was irresponsible. They have not responded to my BBB complaint. I think they are not accepting responsibility for a simple mistake and leaving me with the $1,000 bill. I am very disappointed. read more

Appliance repair was ok. Expensive, but ok. Plumbing service; however, should be avoided until they can respond in a timely fashion. Company was willing to refund their service call fee when they couldn't get out to fix my problem timely, so they get a hat tip for that. I've used Chesterfield Service for my maintenance needs for about 2 years now. The folks who installed my new system gave me a fair deal and did a good job on the install, but they didn't follow up on the ongoing service. I know some people like to save money these days by avoiding service contracts, but it's crazy to spend thousands of dollars on HVAC equipment and not have it regularly maintained. It's like buying a car and not changing the oil. Their office is very organized, and whenever you call or email them, they respond promptly and cheerfully. Their service folks almost always arrive on time, and on the rare occasions when there is a hitch, the office calls you with updates. They are always clean and polite, and put on disposable booties to avoid soiling your carpet or floors. They are always up front about explaining the covered work they did, and do not put any pressure on you when it comes to recommended work that is not covered by the service contract. I always feel comfortable when they are in my home. I recently needed a warranty repair to my system, and they handled it in a completely professional manner. All I had to do was sign on the dotted line. I didn't have to pay a dime. They also install my air filters for me when they visit, for a reasonable fee. I have a busy life, and I always forget to buy and install new ones. I always feel like I'm getting a fair deal, and when I have referred them to family members, I always get good feedback. read more

I had a problem with the Stone Age oven in my house. The oven door literally came apart. I called the office, got an appointment, and they called the day before to confirm. Dave called before he came, was right on time, and got to work. I was fairly freaked that this was a huge problem, but clearly he'd seen this kind of thing before and he got everything put back together and good as new in about 15 minutes. The price was very fair, he didn't try to sell me something I didn't want or need like other service companies have, and he was a pleasure to talk with. It's nice to find an honest company with experienced, no-nonsense technicians who can fix things on the first visit. I cannot say enough how wonderful this interaction was. We just bought a house and the furnace was making a low-level humming sound constantly. We are both very sound-sensitive, and it was making it so we couldn't use our den in the basement because we could hear this hum through the wall. The tech who came out was amazing. Some people would have said it was just normal transformer noise, but he figured out that the transformer was actually vibrating against the unit, and figured out a way to fix it. Jarod N is amazing. He came to look at our Viking oven that seems to be a different temperature than the dial is set at - he gave me all sorts of useful information, like the oven takes at least 25 minutes to heat up and the pre-heat light cycles on and off but doesn't mean it's at the right temperature (news to me!) He was thorough and figured out the issue with the oven quickly. He was super nice and answered all my silly questions without making me feel dumb. This company will charge a lot for services which could be provided elsewhere for less. I had to complain to Bosche because Chesterfield Service charged so much. Chesterfield Service is an authorized Bosch repair service. I will never go back to Chesterfield Service. Chesterfield Service charged me $245.78 for a less than 30 minute job and did so by blaming Bosch as having a very expensive part. The part number was a 092188 Bosch valve. Check other suppliers before calling Chesterfield Service. read more
