Really great experience with the shade store. We worked with Patty to fit blinds for our new home. We had several decisions to make about which windows we wanted covered and which material to use, and Patty helped us through each one with some great perspectives to consider. The scheduling of measurements and installation was SUPER easy and Alex was really easy to work with. Just a pleasure. And the icing on the cake was that had three blinds from our old home that we had brought with us. After spending over $30,000 on their shades, it became apparent that Maria never explained that the shades I purchased don't keep light out. Maybe everybody but me knows that not all shades keep a room dark, but it seems that was a point she should have emphasized beforehand. Even the cheap vinyl shades I had as a child, even the plastic pull-downs in multiple cheap apartments, even the temporary shades I bought from Walmart to use because she stored her shades for over a month in my garage before install (!!!) block light. But not their new car's worth of shades. Not at all. Currently, the street lights keep my kids awake. The morning sun wakes them up. And, when I called following installation to discuss this, she couldn't have cared less. Customer service was very polite, but did nothing. At all. In addition, they forgot shades for my teenage son's bathroom window and needed a 2nd install for my bedroom's curtains. I'm now paying a bunch of money to another company to place black out curtains in my childrens' rooms so they can sleep. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. Thanks for reading. read more

I recently purchased a home with no window treatments. Of course this needed to be fixed but instead of doing it in a rush I did research on best value. The Box Stores (Lowe's and Home Depot) were ok but I was not impressed with their quality. I still wanted the financial stability of a major entity though given the warranty requirements I wanted. Enter The Shade Store. Their rep worked tirelessly with me on my pedantic and relentless questioning. She guided me through the maze of choices we had till I was absolutely comfortable with the shade type and color plus material. She worked with me to make sure I ordered right at the end of a sale period so I still got the discount but didn't commit my funds for any longer than I had to. The reps who did the second detail measure and the install were highly professional, very efficient, tidy and orderly, plus pleasant. Most importantly, the uniformity of fit,color and quality is 100% aligned through all of the shades. They're not the cheapest but to me, they're the best value for window treatments. I recently purchased a home in Houston and needed window coverings. I found The Shade Store online, called them, and before even seeing their showroom, they arranged a measurment of every window in my home. The sales person, Cheryl, said it would get us a better idea of total costs for the project and assured me there was no expecation on their part for me to purchase my shades there. I agreed and the employee came by, measured all of my windows. He was professional, and just a great guy. I went into the showroom several days later and met with Cheryl and went through multiple options. I decided to purchase the shades for four windows (including one large one) . The shades were shipped directly to my home within a week and before I could even let them know they had arrived, i received a call from Cheryl to set up the installation appointment, which was set for the following Monday. Well, the friday before the installation, i received a call from their installation people who said they had time that afternoon to install my shades if I was available. Once again, i was pleasantly surprised by this and agreed. She met me at the house at 4 pm (on a friday night no less) and got immediately to work. Customer service was just horrible. Just to get an appointment was awful. Anytime I had questions or needed any help they would all say " I'm not your sales person so I can't help you, but we will let your assigned person know". It was just a mess!
