We had used JoAnn years ago when we first moved into our home. She did a great job. We were in need…read moreof similar shades for our bedroom since a pipe burst and ruined them. We located them at another store but decided to ask JoAnn. She said she could give us a better price. The shades might be a bit darker. They arrived and they were not the right size. Since it was her error she said she'd send another set. The three she sent were not even close to the same material, a much cheaper shade that I could have purchased for a fraction of the price online. I would never use her again. It's a shame that she does business like this.

Total con man-RUN from ASAP blinds and Darryl Newborn!…read more Darryl Newborn is as slick as they come-paid 10K for customized roller shades to cover my back patio-took about a year from initial payment (dude requires 75% up front-that should have been the red flag but I was dumb) to when shades were installed-some story about shipping from China (came to learn shades came from Seattle-this guy can spin them), and they shipped the wrong shades-story after story Finally shades come in and employs some incompetent installer to do the work that had ZERO idea what he was doing When Darryl continued to ghost me after the faulty installation (and their attempt to fix the faulty instillation) i was lucky enough to find the original manufacturer of the shades (who btw told me that he doesn't do business with Daryl anymore cuz Daryl doesn't pay his bills-he couldn't get a hold of Daryl either) who got me in contact with a reputable shade installer who came and fixed everything-the install was a total mess-so lucky that this didn't fall and hurt/kill someone Never in my life have I dealt with someone this dishonest and deceptive-to be fair though it probably is just complete incompetence-claims he's been in houston for decades but the Houstonians I know don't act like this-go back to wherever your from Darryl Regardless DO NOT do business with him unless you just want to give him your $ for nothing

Pilar and Celene were great to work with on my two projects -- both extremely knowledgable, and made my projects feel important even though I'm sure they were pretty small (~$1200 in total). I chose to install myself; however, when I found that my custom fixed blind appeared to be a bit too big, The Frog sent a technician to modify the blind and get it up and running. Although my immediate blind needs are now met, I will not turn a blind eye to The Frog for my future window projects.

I was a little concerned about using a Houston company that would have to make a special trip to Austin to do the installation, so I traveled to Houston to meet with the TMax team to see their products in action and discuss our project. They graciously met with me for over an hour, going over fabrics and colors and weights and advantages and disadvantages of all the options. They gave me samples of the screen and shade materials as well as the metal rails to discuss with my wife. We decided we needed a custom order for the rail color and they matched it to our aluminum French doors perfectly. On the day of the installation, a four-man crew arrived exactly on time, and carried out a near-perfect installation, without damaging anything (as so often happens with contractors). With the drive to and from Austin, it must have made for a long day for the installers, but they were in good spirits and 100% professional throughout the entire installation. We love our new screens/shades as they let us fill the house with fresh air in this cooler weather without inviting insects in, and the shade/screen color is a beautiful match for our house. The motors are so quiet they don't even bother our dog, who usually lets us know how much he hates machine noises. If you're considering adding retractable shades to your home, you can't do better than to hire TMax for the job.
