We spoke with Athena (who is great & knowledgeable to work with) and she answered so many of our questions & went over lots of options with us. When we visited again with more narrowed ideas, Athena was again very helpful. We easily scheduled a time for her to come to our home for an estimate. The appointment took around an hour. She gave us honest opinions & suggestions to help us make appropriate decisions while being mindful of a budget. She was thoughtful about different factors we wouldn't have thought of on our own. She also offered tips. We were so pleased, we put in our order. Wait time until installation was 6 weeks. We ended up having shutters, roller shades, & sheer shades installed on 11 of our windows. We hit some snaffus that required 2 installation appointments. The first was about 2 hours long & included taking our old blinds away. They also went over how each worked & gave tips. There wasn't too much for us to clean up afterwards. Unfortunately, 2 windows had incorrectly sized shutters made & 1 set of shutters didn't pass the installer's quality test. Installers explained the situation & left temporary paper shades up. It was a bit disappointing. After an additional 4 weeks, we had the second installation that took around 30 minutes. All the installers were pleasant, respectful, & helpful to work with. The end result is so lovely & functional! We love them!! Note: They only offer Hunter Douglas products.

She took her time and made accurate measurements of all the windows with a laser which was reassuring, because each window needs to be measured in multiple ways to ensure proper fit. Only thing I didn't like was that she told me she would send me a link for curtain rods to look into and I followed up twice but she never responded back about them. Install: Our installer Jose was great! Super professional, wore shoe protectors, and was friendly and efficient. He didn't mind my barky dog either. He answered all my questions, used a laser leveler to make sure everything was even, and even gave me advice for future window treatments. He took down the old blinds and patched holes as well. The new blinds fit perfectly and he was a joy to work with. Price: It's expensive, but many potential issues are covered by warranty and the blinds can often be fixed if there's an issue, unlike other brands where you would need to replace the entire blind. Jose gave us adjustment tools and showed me how to use it just in case we needed them, but also said it's unlikely we would need it much. Overall: Highly recommend this company. You get what you pay for.

It was a big decision and I am a very indecisive person and I am so grateful for Yvonne's expertise and patience with me! She made a follow up visit before we moved forward with a proposal and I just adored working with her. Our project consisted of Polysatin shutters with 3 1/2 inch louver with hidden tilt and split tilt at center in the 3 front facing windows and 9 designer roller shades with exposed reverse roll in the rest of our home. We received a project confirmation email within about one week of signing the proposal which informed us of the 4-6 week lead time for installation to be scheduled. We had our installation scheduled within 4 weeks and that's including the holidays! Installation was completed about an hour ago and they look stunning! Our installer was prompt and friendly and made sure to keep the areas clean while working and cleaned up really well after. Chris Louie, the owner, was incredibly friendly and responsive right from the start. After I submitted a quote request online, he contacted me almost immediately and came out with a huge variety of samples. Seeing the different shutter styles, sizes, and widths in person was so helpful because what I *thought* I wanted actually changed once he walked me through the options. He really took his time explaining everything, which made the process much less overwhelming. I also appreciated that he gave me a few days to think it over instead of pushing for a quick decision. After comparing everything, I decided to go with Axent -- and I'm so glad I did. The pricing was fair, communication was excellent, and the delivery and installation went smoothly. The install team was fantastic. They worked efficiently, cleaned everything up, and even vacuumed before leaving -- it honestly looked like they had never even been there. We received three reasonable bids, but Made in the Shade was our best option after a small negotiation. Chelsea did a fabulous job explaining what was available to us. She listened, had a great sense of humor, and allowed us to ask questions and explore different design options. We even met Brando, the owner, who came out to discuss our order briefly. Then Josh came out to install our 5 new shutters. He was fast, very polite, and did a wonderful job. There are many options for new shutters, and perhaps, once they are installed, who you purchased them from will not ever be noticed. But we all know the problems that can occur with delays, poor installation, and sloppy workmanship. Made in the Shade was incredible, a joy to work with, and very high quality.
