Decided to make the plunge a couple of weeks ago and boy am I glad we did! It is an old, renovated train station/depot building - that's now a museum to celebrate and remember the bygone eras of the towns and county. There are multiple displays and exhibits that highlight the many chapters of Lewis County's history and culture, from the time of Native Americans and early pioneers all the way to 1950's. It is filled with actual items from each era (tools, appliances, clothes, maps, merchandise, etc). It really does much to bring history alive and allow visitors to see with their own eyes, and not just in photographs, what people used and lived with. The highlight of the museum, though, is of course the trains! All the way towards the back of the building is a ginormous electric model train set! It's set up to mimic the geography and landscape of Lewis Co. and is so captivating. There are two separate sets and each actually work with the push of a button. There is also a medium sized wooden train set for the kids to enjoy. My two boys absolutely love it!! At just $5 per adult and free for the littles, it's a bargain! I highly recommend the Lewis County Historical Museum for a wonderful time with great fun and learnings for the whole family!!

The theatre was pretty easy to find and parking in the area was simple to find for the 2pm showing. The theatre is under renovation currently and all proceeds from ticket sales go towards the renovations. No 3 Tattoo sponsored the event and was raffling off a sweet swag basket and lo & behold my ticket won! My Dad was very nostalgic and had a great time, so did my Mom & I. The theatre will be amazing once restorations are complete. They are having a year long film series and I hope to stop by here again to support a great cause. Fun place to watch races. Short 3/8 mile track. Plenty of free parking…read more We went for the Big Rig races. Haven't been for a couple of years. We got to the track an hour before race time. The stands were already pretty crowded but we found seats near each other for our group and our friends who were coming. I will say that the benches are packed in together and you don't have a lot of room to move around. Add to that people that bring bleacher top chairs for their comfort, that are too big for the benches and end up encroaching upon your leg room. Annoying and very rude!! It is seriously almost a claustrophobic experience sitting here. The races are run well and were enjoyable to watch. Restrooms were clean. There was always a long lime for concessions and for beer. It seems that they have one line to purchase beer tickets and then another lime to actually buy your beer. Not sure what the point in that is, but glad I wasn't drinking beer. You can pack in your own cooler here with food and beverages - as long as no alcohol or glass. This helps keep your outing affordable. Ticket prices were $22 for adults. I think 5 and under are free. Fun time watching races.

Fortunately I had a friend in line so I could take a break and go sit in the shade. I was waiting for him, but would go back every 15 minutes & he barely moved. I've stood in line before behind 20 people, but it has never taken me 90 minutes to get through. I'm being generous saying 90 minutes. It was a nightmare and ruined our whole night. You can go on the track and it is a great experience. Bathrooms are really accessible and I've never had to wait.
