Nice Regal theater in Olympia! I was supposed to work an event today in Shelton which didn't quite go according to plan but since I made an hour drive this way from Puyallup, I decided to do something fun in Olympia before going home and ended up here. Toy Story 5 is out and the kid in me LOVES Toy Story.. they are my favorite Disney movies that are animated and aren't Princess-related so I had to see Toy Story 5 and I decided to see it in a format I haven't watched a movie in before (Screen X). I was excited that they have Screen X as I've come close to seeing a movie in Screen X before but ended up not getting around to it. I lived in Idaho for a couple years and the Regal in Boise has different formats for movies like IMAX, Screen X and 4DX. I absolutely LOVE 4DX movies so that was my go to theater for that but I had it in the back of my mind to do Screen X sometime and recently found out that was something offered at this theater. It was nice to see what it was all about but honestly didn't feel it was anything that special. The Screen is basically extended with projections on the sides of the auditorium during key parts of the movie but the images on the sides are darker, not nearly as bright as the screen in front of you and they are blurry looking. It was honestly kind of distracting. I originally wanted to do 3D with Screen X but then decided because I've never seen a movie in Screen X to just do regular Screen X to see if I actually like the format first and I'm glad I went that route because maybe the 3D would have enhanced the side screens a bit more but I could see it also possibly being overwhelming and disorienting if I did it with the 3D. I know alot of people say they think that 4DX is distracting and overwhelming to the senses with the moving seats but honestly I would much rather have watched this in 4DX.. Sadly they don't have 4DX at this theater though and the only theater in Washington that does is the Regal in downtown Seattle. It would be nice if they added 4DX as an option here as I'd rather make the long drive here than fight all the traffic in Seattle to get there but I know it's extremely expensive for them to convert even one auditorium to the 4DX seats so that likely won't be happening any time soon if ever. Overall though, I LOVED the movie and the theater was very nice! I didn't get any concessions today as I felt it would be more worth it to hit up the Wendy's drive thru after for the minion meal, but I do enjoy Regal's Sips by Pepsi- give them a try if you haven't! They cost a bit less than a regular soda or even the small icee and they have unique flavors like a Cotton Candy lemonade topped with real cotton candy and cotton candy boba!! Enjoy ;) read more

Too many ads! Jesus! More than cable! Here waiting to watch The Odyssey and it is 10:42. That's 12 minutes of nonstop ads and no movie so far. I am about to start booing. Probably not come here again. Edit to add: It is now 11:05 am and movie just began. That's 17 minutes of ads, 18 minutes of previews. If you want to spend your time wisely, you can use some of that time for something else. Cost for two tickets, two drinks and popcorn: $77. Now the end of the movie. No way that's IMAX. That's a standard movie on a big bent screen with extremely loud (too loud) sound. If they need certification to say they are IMAX it should be pulled. IMAX means Immersive Audio Experience. Nothing immersive here. Go to IMAX in Tacoma! read more

I was impressed with this comfortable theater. Their ADA seating was right in the middle od the theater so the view was great. The soung system was impressive, too. Crime 101 was action packed with some fun twists. It was an enjoyable experience I plan to enjoy again. read more

Almost $30 for a ticket is ridiculous, add to that 30 minutes of ads and previews (mostly ads) and this is a very expensive experience. The ads and previews start at the advertised movie start time. The sound system, oh my goodness. At times it literally makes your chair vibrate it is so loud. They could turn it down by half and it would be plenty loud enough. Finally, I would hate to go if the theater was packed as the seats are very close together. All in all, save your time and money. read more

Location wise, can't beat it. Centrally located in Lacey, I could almost walk to this theatre. It's kept relatively clean, and they have the basic concessions you'd expect. I'm not a big fan of how they sell in-person tickets. They have a large ticket office outside the entrance, but they stopped selling tickets from there years ago. Instead, you must go inside and wait in the concessions line. I get it, a strong attempt at ensuring you are spending money at their profit center, but takes a lot of time for those who don't want popcorn. Customer service is about what you'd expect from mostly high school aged staff, and theaters are ok. However, the iMax has a big screen, but regular seats. For the premium price, I was expecting something a little better in comfort. I'll keep going here as it's the best we have here in Lacey, but I'd love to see them make an upgrade investment in the property. read more

Movies at Christmas ....Yahoo! We went on a busy Saturday night and they've changed how you buy tickets ... if you've not purchased them online. You're able to purchase tickets at the snack counter and order snacks at the same time if you so desire.. we like to arrive late after the half hour of previews.... And with reserve seats, it works well... seating as comfortable, and the area well ventilated. read more

I foresee a lawsuit in your future. I saw The Devil Wears Prada 5/8/2026 at the 2:30 showing and the sound level was deafening. For a great deal of the movie I had my fingers in my ears. I won't return as I am fond of my hearing and don't want to damage it. IF I MUST return (why would I?), ear plugs or noise canceling headphones are in order. If you want to save money and see at least 2 movies a month, get unlimited! I see so many movies and pay about 25 a month!

You can purchase tickets and buy your snacks both at the refreshment counter, which is super convenient, but also a sad sign of the times that they're trying to eliminate jobs by not having someone at the ticket counter. They had a table in the lobby set up so that kids could draw and it also had mini posters for a few of the upcoming movies. The seats are the reclining kind which makes things comfy, but they don't recline as far as the ones at the Century. Still, it's a good place to watch a movie, especially if you want to have popcorn mised with Cheetos in it. read more

I took my family here yesterday to see an imax movie. Spent over $100 on tickets alone. We were "greeted" by what I assume was the manager with a smug attitude making us feel like we were trespassing instead of inviting us in. Hands down my favorite theater in the area. The staff is ALWAYS wonderful. The hot food selection has gotten better over the last year or so. The prices? It's the movies it is what it is lol. If you can do imax or screen x do it! Both are great experiences. I wish they would upgrade the seats to recliners though. That upgrade alone would make this a top notch experience for this location. This Regal is a good choice for a movie theater, but it is way too outdated. My biggest complaint is that most theaters have luxury recliners with footrests, but this movie theater has school auditorium flip-down seats like it's still the 80s. The seats that this theater has are the only things that stop me from wanting to come back though. On the other hand, the employees that work here are very nice. I enjoy my popcorn with extra movie theater butter, and at my request for extra butter, I was given three layers of butter by an employee. I now specifically ask for layered butter, because that one employee made that one bucket of popcorn taste delicious. read more

As a life long movie geek, I've been to movie houses all over the world and really, this theater is pretty much your run of the mill theater. Older seats with updated sound and video make this kind of a lazy IMAX. This is not a dome IMAX as I had come to expect in the past. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. Mask policy is enforced at this point as well. The video and sound in the IMAX auditorium is crisp and booms like it should, I've had it send shock waves up my spine in a good way! The seats would be better if they were reclining, but these aren't 30 years old, so they are sill reasonably comfortable! Here is where I have beef! Concessions and not with prices, I've come to expect to pay $4 for a bag of $1 candy, but what I don't appreciate is spending $10 on a bucket of popcorn THAT IS NOT FRESH! I understand that sometimes I come to the first viewing and maybe the hot dogs aren't ready or the nachos aren't warmed up yet, but the popcorn needs to be popping so that it's fresh when the doors open. This has not been the case on several occasions. I do not enjoy cold/day old popcorn that looks and tastes like it came from the bottom of the machine. They also serve Pepsi; gross! Anyway, this is an okay theater! Nice staff, clean, with banging sound and video. Day old popcorn at regular prices if you're interested too! Check this place out, or not. Came here to watch Lion King. We ordered our tickets online, and check-in was a breeze. The concession stand was similar to the Regal Cinemas in California, although I thought it was interesting that alcohol is not served. I guess I am used to theaters serving alcohol in California. I'm not sure if this theatre is new or was recently remodeled but it's super nice! The theatre itself is big and clean and the seats are first come first serve with regular chairs (as opposed to many newer theaters which have motorized reclining chairs and a ticketing system that involves buying a ticket for specific seat). The bathrooms are huge, clean, bright and well maintained. The staff is all very friendly as well! I've been here twice and have had great experiences both times. read more

We saw The 355 and it was GREAT! Anywho, about the theater. Your mask is required. You will pay for your ticket at the concession stand and order your popcorn and all things at once. That's convenient. This is a simple and traditional like theater. No reclining chair but it was still comfortable. We made it work. So I enjoyed it. read more

This place is expensive and they don't even have the recliner seating. I only come here if I really want to see a movie and don't want to drive elsewhere or if they're not showing it elsewhere. The parking spaces are ridiculously small and I always have to worry about the car next to me hitting my car when they swing open the door. The staff here act like zombies and never look like they're having even a decent day. The theaters are nothing special but they charge a lot and you can find much cheaper elsewhere for the same quality or better. The only thing I like about it is it's 5mins from my house. read more

We had never been to this theater before and decided to go see The Eternals there a few weeks ago. We enjoyed the movie, but not the theater seating even though they rocked a little, but are close to each other. Thankfully, they not the old school fixed seats, however, it's now time for a serious update to the luxury style recliner seating now found in better theaters like the Cinemark at the Capitol Mall. read more

I tried everything to find a contact number but got redirected constantly and nobody picked up the hidden number I found for the place. All I wanted to know is if the theater had reclining seats, but judging from the other Yelp reviews, I'm assuming they don't. My experience at this movie theater was decently pleasant, though not that many people there the line for the concessions was rather slow. Only 2 people in front of me with 2 workers at the station, it shouldn't take that long to get food and a ticket. Luckily for me I ordered my tickets online but in all really need to pick up the pace. Or have a couple more workers helping with the popcorn and the extra stuff. read more

I had to go get somebody to start the movie....after the advertised start time. So they start the movie late, and then play all the preliminary ads, trailers, and short clips. Here is an idea, since you don't start on time, don't waste my time with advertisements that you are getting paid for. Finally, 21 minutes after the scheduled movie start time, it finally starts. $8 for a matinee movie (for me, that was Friday at 4pm). $8.50 for military. Instead of sitting in traffic on the way back to Tacoma, I'd rather sit in a movie theatre! Their parking lot has more than ample parking and many movies and showtimes to choose from! I didn't see anything in IMAX, and I had no problems with the quality of Red 2. Bathrooms were clean. Nice theater. Doesn't have the sticky floors like some and the appearance is nice. Here to see Rogue One. Always wait many weeks after the opening so it's not as crowded and distracting. I always find the help friendly and go out of their way to help. Seat is nice and comfortable. Rocks and has armrests with cup holders. Not the recliners that are making it out now. read more

The movie theaters themselves are ok. The ticket prices are higher than Cinemark, the other theater in town. The concessions are what kills three stars for me. Yes, I know food at the theater is expensive, I am fine with that but if it is expensive it should at least taste good. Their popcorn is just gross. The topping they put on it is not real butter and it tastes like oil. THEN to add insult to injury, I bought a refillable bucket for our family and went back to fill it up a little after 10 and the concession stand said they were closing and had no more popcorn. DONT CHARGE 7.99 FOR A BUCKED OF REFILLABLE POPCORN AND THEN NOT HONOR IT! Keep some popcorn on hand for customers going to late shows! It costs you about 1.00 to throw out any that isnt consumed so why not keep some on hand? Cinemark at the mall is a much better theater, cheaper prices, and awesome popcorn with REAL butter. read more

Absolutely my favorite place to go. Tuesdays 5 dollar regal club members deal rocks. Me and my mother come every Tuesday. It's really a great place to pass some time. There snack bar is way to expensive but that's how they make money at every theater you have the choice to bring in your own just make sure to take out your trash. Went to see a movie in Screen X and it was a complete joke. Rather than seeing 3 screens I seen only 1; The rest are projectors with poor quality. Don't waste your money on this screen X you're better off watching the movie in 2D. read more

I am so pissed at this theater! I've been wanting to watch the movie Jules since it came out and since it wasn't playing at the theater where I'm from which is in Chehalis I've decided to travel to Lacey where Regal Martin theater is and it's about a 40 minute drive. I went to their website to see what time the movie was playing. The website said that the movie started at 7:10 p.m. so when I got up there, I rechecked the website again to see if the time didn't change. It still said 7:10 p.m. and to confirm the time I asked one of the employees at the front desk if that's the right time and he looked at the list of all the movies that was playing and he said yes that's the right time. I got to the theater about 20 minutes early so I sat and waited until it was time to get the ticket. When it was time to get the ticket, I told the employee at the box office what movie I wanted to watch. He told me that there was no listing of that movie that is playing at 7: 10. I told him that the employee at the front desk looked at his list and he told me that it was playing. So I went back to that same employee to confirm what he said. Meanwhile another employee that was behind the desk looked at the computer and told me that the movie that I wanted to watch had been swapped out for another movie. I asked him why it was swapped out for another movie and he told me that it was the corporates decision. I told the employee that it was b******* and that I came from Chehalis and I wasted my time and my gas for nothing. The corporates decision to swap out another movie at the last minute was not a good decision. If they keep doing this crap they'll be a lot of angry customers and they will lose customers. Didn't corporate even consider that maybe there are people that come from long ways because a certain movie isn't playing where they're from? I would give this theater zero stars but since I can't post this review without a star I guess one star is all they're going to get. read more

Alaina was outstanding as a customer service staff member at Regal. She not only informed us about the Dr Strange combo but did so in a courteous manner. The ticketing process was fairly easy utilizing the app and the theater seating was clean. The restroom did need attending to but aside from that it was a great experience. read more

I just saw Black Panther there and the copy was so dark I could hardly see the film. Because this theater rarely shows films with back casts, I find this very suspicious. I will never go back there again. Oh yea and I felt itchy like I picked up some hitchhiking bugs. Couldn't wait to take a shower and wash my clothes... even my sneekers got a wash. Another LIEMAX screen. The only real IMAX theaters are in Seattle and Spokane, sorry to burst your bubble. The "IMAX" screen in this (and most theaters) is simply a brand licensed to the theater by the IMAX company. They dress up the theater a bit by making the screen a little bigger (but nothing close to a real IMAX screen size) and removing the back rows of seats so everyone sits closer and feels like it is bigger. Beyond that, they make a few improvements to sound (again, nothing like true IMAX). Then they charge you more for the "IMAX experience." If you don't believe me, just Google "liemax" for the truth.
