Needed two men's leather belts shortened. Wasn't sure what the cost would be, but brought them to Corey's Bootery in Kalamazoo. Was fully prepared and expecting to leave them for a week or two for the alteration; I got lucky in that the leathersmith was on-site at that time. Explained what I wanted, and fifteen minutes later I was very pleased to be walking out with the altered belts. Reasonably priced, and the belts are perfect. Also, everyone I interacted with at the store was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. The leathersmith in particular. The Shoe Shine Guys (The Shoe Repair Shop) has gone mobile!! Now THEY come to YOU! They collect your footwear and about a week later, they return it, all fixed up!! I have used this amazing service twice now and both times have been a delight! I hike a lot and had worn down the heels on my $300 boots. So Janet and John came out (they visit each city on a rotation, I believe) collected my boots, re-heeled them, and returned them a week later. They are excellent! Hands down one of the friendliest and competent shoe and zipper repair places we've ever visited. As a cobbler, I've been able to get shoes that I thought were lost restored. Shoes with worn away souls or excessive scuffing. My wife has been able to gain extended life from pumps and flats she's brought in. Recently, I discovered a broken zipper on my luggage, and not only did they repair the zipper extremely fast, they did a great job preventing any future issues from overpacking. read more

it saddens me deeply to write this I believe their brick-and-mortar location is closed I do not know if they have another brick and mortar but I will say they also offer a mobile service which is extremely convenient they actually come to you by far this is some of the most knowledgeable and politest people I've ever met in my life who try to support their local community and the surrounding areas I spend my money here with pride when I can and go out of my way to patronize their business. At minimum go get some shoe strings from them and speak with them you'll be hooked and realize what it's worth to support a small business. what's more infuriating is if you read all the reviews that are blocked by Yelp they are all almost 5 stars. I do not know why this is happening but I am hearing this from a lot of other people who write reviews and are starting to gravitate away from this platform as it seems to be it's starting to be a pay-to-play scenario why would you censor positive reviews by random people to Yelp moderators I hope this is not the case please the platform I have used for years but is a little suspicious and saddening read more

This is a fabulous place! Wow! I went in looking to get new straps on an old bag and was given great advice on how I need to focus more on the issues I'm having with my feet. I bought some much-needed shoe inserts and I feel Janet, the owner, is so genuine and honest. She saved me many hours of discomfort. Now I will take extra care pampering my feet and buying the proper shoes so I will be able to walk in comfort now for the rest of my life! BTW, I bought a new bag instead! P.S. My experience in a word: Excellent. I have a favorite brand of shoe called Cole Haan and for years now, and every time they wear out, I sadly throw them away. I passed by the store a few weeks ago and thought i'd give them a try before tossing my my next pair out. I dropped them off and only week later they were ready. I was stunned to see the result! They looked brand new! Their craftsmanship in restoring them was a real value. The best part of the experience was the customer service that Janet and John offered. They out-shined their shoes. The hours posted on the door say they are open Saturday 9-4. Yelp says the same. I drove 20 minutes across town this Saturday and arrived around noon. They were not open. Either the hours have changed and they have not bothered to update their sign or they are out of business. read more

I had a pair of boots that had a broken zipper but was having a hard time finding a new pair that I liked as much. I decided to just get the zipper fixed instead of buying a whole new pair. I'm glad I found the Shoe Repair Shop! They offered great customer service and did good work on the zipper replacement. The staff was very friendly and answered all of my questions with a smile. The repair took just about a week which I think was very reasonable. I plan to take my Uggs here at the end of winter to have them cleaned because I received such great service. read more

On Dec 14th, my 93-year-old dad was fitted with insoles at the Shoe Repair Shop in Canton. The insoles elevate his toes. He had been losing his balance often and suffering from lower back pain.. He has also been going to physical therapy. On Jan 3rd, he exceeded the therapist's goals on a balance test. His back pain is almost nonexistent. I give a lot of the credit to Janet at the Shoe Repair Shop. She took one look at my dad's posture while walking, and knew the insoles would be a huge benefit.
