If you are coming here though, the number one thing to know.... if you get cold easily, WEAR A SWEATSHIRT! I am always cold, but these ranges are freezing, FYI! In general, it's best to wear pants, long sleeves, a hat (personally), nothing low cut, and of course closed toe shoes. They have sales all the time on guns and ammo, though I wouldn't personally suggest buying those things here - come here for the range but in my opinion buy your guns and things elsewhere because they do tend to be pricier than others. I loved his class and had no issues and he made sure I understand everything and I got trained in my Glock 9mm and 380 which was the first for the 380 to be done with them for statewide training. They also where doing two guys with a shotgun but it slide and hit the roof so they never let that happen again and it was like a 3 days course at the time I had went and them two guys where failed right away from class for that. This place has zero tolerance for Tom foolery when it comes to firearms and training. I don't think that one where is alive anymore, but he was a very good instructor. I chose this company to take my Concealed Weapons Class for my Concealed Weapons Permit. They had a…read morespecial under living social and offered it at a good price! The class is about 3 hours long. The first 45 minutes was getting everyone signed in, paid, vouchers collected, signatures collected, all that stuff. The remainder of the class was all legalities of Florida Concealed Weapons and Firearms. After that, and probably 100 irrelevent questions from your fellow classmates, you will go to a gun range to shoot 5 rounds. You have to pay them $10 to use one of the instructors gun, and pay $12 to be able to use the gun station for 30 seconds. Overall, the experience I had wasn't bad. The Instructor is obviously ex-military of some sort, and was very lively and did not make the class boring. I am an experienced gun handler, so I know how to handle a gun, but there were some individuals there who had never handled a gun before, and I was suprised that there was no section taught about gun safety. I was expecting that they would go over the anatomy of a gun, how to empty the firearm and discharge the chamber, how put safety's on and off, how to load the magizine, and all that stuff, but none of that was covered in the class. For experienced firearm holders, that's a good thing because it would be redundant, but for new gun handlers this is essential information. When you go to do your "qualifier", which means you are at the gun range and have to empty 3 rounds that have to hit the paper target about 10 feet away from you, they put the gun in your hand, tell you how to hold it (or if you are experienced, check to see how you hold it) and tell you to pull the trigger. No loading, unloading, droppign the magazine or anything. So again, if you do not know how a gun works, you probably wont know leaving this class. Either way, It was enjoyable and a good price, glad I got it out of the way so I can get my CWP :)

I really like bass pro, never went to a store that had at least 50% of what they have…read more Started buying fishing rods there and as I was starting fishing a few years ago didn't know which rod buy, so I bought one rod but wasn't sure if that one would be good, I did an insurance that if I didn't like I could return the rod and grab another one (just losing the value that I paid for insurance) was really good because I got one that was so heavy. A few years layer I got my glock 43x Mos over there and they were really nice, explained everything to me. Once in a while I go there to buy ammo and at Christmas time they do have Santa Claus for the kids, so you just need to pay for the pictures (if you want) nothing else. Really cool place!

Honestly, if this is how they treat first-time customers, I would think twice before purchasing a firearm from this store. Before making the trip, I called the Orlando location and specifically asked whether having my concealed carry license would allow me to complete the purchase and leave with my firearm that same day. I was told yes, no problem. Based on that information, I drove an hour out of my way to the store. When I arrived, I was then told that I could NOT leave with the firearm because the state-level firearm background check portal/store's background check system closes at 9:00 PM. This was extremely frustrating because I had already taken the time to call ahead and specifically ask about this. Rather than walk away from the purchase, I decided to have the firearm shipped to my local Bass Pro Shops. I asked the salesperson when it would arrive, and I was told Saturday, Sunday at the latest, or Monday. I had a trip planned and was leaving Monday, so this information was important to me. Then I checked the FedEx tracking information and saw that the delivery was scheduled for Tuesday. I contacted FedEx, and they told me the shipper scheduled the delivery for Tuesday. At this point, I am beyond disappointed. This entire situation could have been avoided with simple, accurate communication. I called ahead, asked specific questions, drove an hour out of my way, and still ended up with incorrect information and a delivery date that did not match what I was told. For something as important as purchasing a firearm, customers should be able to expect clear communication, accurate information, and competent customer service. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at the Orlando Bass Pro Shops. This was my first firearm purchase, and instead of being a positive experience, it has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend purchasing a firearm from this location. If you are considering buying one here, I strongly recommend confirming every detail yourself before making the trip because what you are told over the phone may not be what happens when you arrive. He was a real professional and walked us through the initial questions about how much of a beginner with both were. He then introduced us to the steps of selecting a gun and and how to handle it safely. I want to emphasize that safety is a big aspect of this business. We then were handed over to DJ who got us to the level where we actually fired guns on the range. Both Warren and DJ were exceptional teachers and extremely knowledgable. I highly recommend dealing with them if you are going to do business with this company. The facility was extremely clean and well organized. We highly recommend them and their staff.
