I called, and per their answering machine left a detailed message of what I wanted, with a name and phone number. The machine said I'd get a callback within 48 hours. This never happened. I tried other hair salons in the interim, but none had any openings within the next few weeks that were nearby, and unfortunately I don't trust myself with my own dead ends and layering. Even if I did, a stylist could certainly do it better. After a week, I went back to this salon, since it's so close and had a good review. This time, I searched through the stylists and found a time that worked for me, since I didn't mind who it was so long it was after 5pm. I make the appointment, and receive a text that it's awaiting approval..... and then the next day get a text that says the stylist can't do that time, but she can do these other times, which I could not do due to the workday. I think it's great that the stylists are empowered to be able to approve their own appointments! Too often customer service doesn't allow that, and I want to emphasize that the texts I received were polite. I am sure everyone at this salon does good work. But I also think it's fair to say that if your answering machine says you'll call back in 48 hours, you should call back within that timeframe, or adjust it to say a more ambiguous 'call back as soon as we can', and I likewise think that, if an appointment timeslot is not actually available, it shouldn't be listed on the website. It feels like a great disrespect to my time an energy, even if that's not the intent. I ended up going to Hair it is in Lincoln RI. It's farther, but I had a good experience. If you reading this find yourself unable to get an appointment here, maybe try there.
