I just left Yolanda at Rock Paper Scissors Salon. What a…read morenice experience it was! Yolanda asked what I was looking for and she really listened to me! When I booked my mom's blowout, I specifically explained that she has soft, textured hair and was reassured that Yolanda Lusnia was experienced with all hair types. Based on that conversation, we felt confident moving forward with the appointment. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet those expectations. When we first walked into Rock Paper Scissors, the initial expressions and reaction from Yolanda Lusnia and Bree Pickens immediately made my mom and me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. We arrived excited and trusting that my mom would be taken care of, but the first impression left us feeling out of place. During the appointment, I noticed a lack of warmth, communication, and attention to detail that you would expect from a professional salon experience. At the shampoo bowl, Yolanda did not adjust my mom's chair, speak with her, or ask basic comfort questions such as whether the water temperature was comfortable or if she preferred it warmer or cooler. Those small gestures are part of making a client feel cared for, and their absence was noticeable. About 10 minutes into the appointment, Bree did come over and kindly asked if I wanted to sit in the same room as my mom. I appreciated that gesture. However, when Bree walked me back, Yolanda said she was going to ask me the same thing. After the initial interaction, the change in tone felt uncomfortable and confusing. While my mom was at the shampoo bowl, I overheard that there was no way her hair could be blown out without straightening it. I clarified that we had booked a blowout, not a straightening service. After the service was completed, her hair was still very frizzy and did not look like a finished blowout. When I politely expressed my concerns about the result, Yolanda raised her voice and said, "I'm not used to doing this type of hair." That comment was extremely disappointing and made my mom feel singled out because of her natural hair texture. My mom has had successful blowouts at other salons, and the issue was not only the final result. It was the overall experience and the way she felt as a client. I reached out to Katie Enfield privately because I wanted to resolve this respectfully before posting publicly. While I appreciated receiving a response, I did not feel my concerns were fully acknowledged. Every client deserves to feel welcomed, respected, and cared for when they walk into a salon.

First of all, I really really wanna like this place but it's hard. From the outside and when you…read morefirst walk in the place looks great! I came here to get my son's haircut before school. When we first walked in, we were greeted by a gentleman right away, and I asked if he had any open spots for a haircut today. He said sure let me check out the other barbers and see what they're up to. I'm sure we can get you in right now. I thought cool. But then after about 30 seconds, I noticed that there's two or three different Bluetooth speakers playing different things. Maybe I'm just a little more old-school barbershop and think that all the barbers should be on the same level and on the same vibe. The gentleman came back and said yeah we got a barber. We can your son's haircut right now. I was like cool so after waiting for a few minutes, our barber showed up with his Temu grill. His Bob Beatles cut and a mullet. My first thought is hell yeah that's what I like. I like seeing people with their own style. His communication wasn't that great, wasn't bad. I mean, he's probably a young dude. My son usually just gets a simple shave up the side ,shorten the top thin it out comb over to the right. For the first time cutting my son's hair, it wasn't that bad and I'm not complaining about the haircut. My problem is after I tried to explain to him what I wanted it. He looked like he didn't care or wanna deal with me anymore. I tried to ask him to trim it up a little bit more a little bit shorter, and he looked at me like I had another head growing. He left all these baby hairs on my son's forehead for whatever reason. I had to come home and finish it up myself. My son was really disappointed until we got home and I fixed it up. Needless to say, I doubt I will be back. It's a nice place, could have a great atmosphere. I would also recommend closing up the barber hang out in the back. It looks like a bunch of slobs, sitting there or laying down playing on their phones. Like I said in the forefront, I'm not trying to say this is a bad place . There is a lot of talent here they just all need to get on the same page. I wish them nothing but good fortune, and good health

My first appointment with Teresa was perfect, it was exactly the color I wanted and I was incredibly happy. At my second appointment I explicitly stated "I want to do what we did last time" yet she proceeded to make my hair significantly darker. I immediately brought up how much darker it was than the previous appt and she assured me it was only a dark gloss and would wash out and lighten up soon. I trusted her. And "left happy" because she assured me it was "just a gloss". I didn't speak up because I trusted her. At my third appointment everything went south. Before we started I brought up again that my hair was made too dark the previous appt and clearly communicated that I did not want my hair to be dark. Teresa proceeded to dye my hair pitch black. I immediately brought it to her attention at the end of my appt and let her know I was NOT happy with how dark my hair was. This time, Teresa's story completely changed, she told me she had actually used permanent dye at my second appointment not a gloss. After a lot of back and forth and attempted gaslighting she eventually admitted that she hadn't taken proper notes and couldn't remember exactly what she had done to my hair at my previous appointments. Awesome. Not only was this extremely unprofessional and disorganized on her part but throughout the process I felt completely gaslit. She put words in my mouth that I never said. She made decisions about my hair that I never consented to. She did what she wanted with my hair instead of communicating with me and getting my approval first. Her lack of accountability made an already bad situation feel even worse. She knew she had made a mistake, admitted it but still tried to gaslight me to agree with her rather than take accountability. To top it all off despite her completely admitting fault, she only offered me a partial refund. After her countless mistakes and the way the entire situation was handled, the partial refund felt like a slap in the face. I wish I would have never sat in her chair. It's unfortunate that this experience reflects on the salon because I'm sure there are much more professional stylists there to choose from. If you do decide to book with Teresa, I would STRONGLY recommend being VERY direct about what you want and making sure you explicitly consent to any changes before she proceeds. -5/10.

I got my haircut and styled for the first time in nearly ten years here and the experience was amazing. All three of the women were really easy going and they kept the mood light with sass that might otherwise seem "unprofessional" but in reality keeps conversing from becoming droll. Although it may be a small space they make it work well, and it's very comfortable for both those waiting to get cut and those in the chairs. As for the actual haircut, I was with Alyssa in a last minute jam and she was super accomodating to my anxiety of the haircut. I had gotten trims throughout the years to keep my hair long, think surfer/skaterish, but this was truly the first short cut in nearly a decade. She gave me recommendations that I was apprehensive about at first and even suggested something else, but then when it got to the final cuts, she was on the money from the get and did an awesome job with it. Throughout the whole process she was able to handle my indecision of how I was wanting my haircut with incredible patience. People around me say it looks great and I believe them, it's just a wierd feeling I'm still getting used to without all the extra mop-top. All-in-all, if you don't give The Shoppe a chance to become your go-to, you're missing out on good vibes, and more importantly, a killer haircut. read more

I've had a hard time finding a good place to get my haircut since moving back into town from being away at school. I've tried a lot of different ones around Sonoma County but never felt satisfied. That is until I got my haircut done by Sarah and Alyssa! They did an awesome job! So when they opened up "The Shoppe" there was never a hesitation I would follow them. I checked out the new place today and it was super rad, very open and inviting. The environment was awesome and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great cut and good conversation! The place is priced fair, and it's extremely easy to book an appointment online. (As I got an appointment within 30 minutes of booking). Great atmosphere, literally the best haircut I've ever received. I get complimented on the cut 2-3 weeks after my appointment. No reason to go anywhere else in Santa Rosa. The gals are cool and offer services you can't or won't ask for at a barber shop, i.e. eye brows, nose/ ear hair, things you don't want to have to do yourself after paying for a clean up.
