Jeff did my blinds a few years ago (custom blinds for very large windows). His suggestions were spot-on and have served us well for the last 3 years. It was a really shallow window frame so nobody else even thought the job was possible. Jeff had a great solution to macgyver the installation for us. It's been 3 years and they still look and work like new! Last week, I got some shutters done by Jeff and it was another great job. Again, a strangely shaped window where Jeff basically had to rebuild part of the window ledge from scratch. He showed me how the shutters were sticking when he first installed them, then showed me how he did all the adjustments to make them swing perfectly. Premium install for sure! You definitely need someone who knows how to make these adjustments, not just someone who installs direct from the factory. Just one star off since we had some scheduling delays; Jeff totally offered us a discount to make up for it, so it was handled very professionally. And in the end I paid him the full amount anyway because he did such a great job! One last note: the prices are very good, especially for the level of service and quality of product. read more

I was a little apprehensive about the amount of time it would take the get the shutters in, as we had zero window coverings on our home. We are located in Berkeley and after I got Jeff's estimate (he personally came and took measurements for some old California Cottage tricky plantation shutter areas and wooden blind windows) I honestly thought it was going to be one of those nightmare contractor situations because so often, well.... that's what they turn out to be! The shutters/blinds took about 6-8 weeks just as he said they would. He suggested color matches with our new paint. When the installer arrived (Eli and his sister Judith) I winced, thinking they are going to really mess this up. They took all kind of measurements and said, "Jeff did a great job measuring; it's tricky but let's see..." Well, I'm a bit of a persnickety crafts person myself and I couldn't be happier. I just got new cellular shades from Jeff Lee and they are fantastic. They are much nicer than I hoped, and are absolutely gorgeous. Everything went smoothly and I have nothing but good things to say about this business. I knew in general what I wanted but had worked out the wrong solution. Jeff tactfully suggested other alternatives and he got everything right. I ended up with Graeber shades -- much better than my old Smith and Nobles. They are a scrumptious color and look amazing. I am updating my review-because I have not been as thrilled with this company our second time round. We got new windows in our house and unfortunately for us- they did not work with our old shutter configuration-so we needed to replace all of our shutters. We were not as impressed with Jeff as we were the first time around. He seemed disinterested in getting the extra business-and the response time has not been great. He almost seems bothered by having to help us-which seems bizarre as we are giving him business a second time around. The quality of the shutters is still fine and we are happy with the look of them. The only thing to note is one of the replaced shutters had a defect in it-so we had to have it sent back for repair. read more

DO NOT install shutters without talking to Jeff .. he really knows his stuff. We had three other BIG companies and one small one come by, and nobody could figure out how to do what we needed without taking every cent from me. JEFF got it! He installed beautiful WOODEN shutters with 3" louvers... lets lots of light in... keeps it out when I need it out. He made suggestions to enhance each window, and the costs were very competitive and even reasonable. He was more than happy to return to make some very minor adjustments (we should have known how ourselves). Material came quickly, and was installed perfectly and neatly.
