The Parlour burger used to be thicker double patties but have gotten way thinner over time. Each beef patty is much thinner now than it used to be so the outter edge crisp is somewhat all throughout the patty being that thin. This makes the burger really chewy and you really can't taste the beef anymore like you used to when it was thicker. I would take this as it's not as good as it used to be. It is not as good as the original hype from the beginning. In conclusion, I do not think it's worth the $19. I rather get a cheesesteak for $16 at Tono's which comes with fresh not burnt fries rather than come back here and get a burger here. It's highly unlikely I will be back here. I honestly feel like the burgers have gone way WAY downhill. The fries here have gotten terrible so I stopped getting the fries a long time ago. They are not soft crisp like they used to be. They are too golden brown color, almost like burnt hard fries. I never like to eat down here. I normally would order the Parlour burger upstairs. The drink menu caught our attention immediately, so naturally we all ordered something fancy and felt very sophisticated about it. Then came the food. I ordered the Parlour Burger because if you don't order the item named after the place, are you even trying? I also ordered a deviled egg. Not deviled eggs. Just one. Singular. Apparently that's how they roll. We also got fries, and let me save you some time, the fry portion is large. Like, "feeds the table" large. Pro tip: share them unless you're emotionally prepared. Stopped into Parlour after it came highly recommended by a friend. It was a little tricky figuring out how to get inside since you have to head down the stairs to enter. Once you're in, you're welcomed by a moody, dimly lit atmosphere that sets a cool, relaxed tone. Traveling solo, I grabbed a seat at the bar, and I'm glad I did. The bartenders were entertaining to watch as they mixed a variety of creative cocktails with real flair. I started with an order of deviled eggs, which were delicious. For my entrée, I went with the classic burger and fries. Both were very good, though the burger was a bit on the salty side. That might just be my taste buds talking, though. I'll definitely be back. Next time, I might try something different from the menu--maybe a burger with more toppings or one of their other specialties. I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Parlour. The service was terrible they completely forgot about my order, so the rest of my table finished eating before my food even arrived. When it finally came out, my burger was severely overcooked and incredibly dry. The Old Fashioned was decent, but it wasn't enough to make up for the rest of the experience. Spending over $50 for a burnt burger, fries, and one drink felt way overpriced. On top of that, we were only served room-temperature water that was never refilled. Instead of giving us an accurate wait time, they seated our party in what appeared to be a waiting area, which only added to the confusion. I understand the restaurant is going for a dimly lit atmosphere, but it was so dark that it was genuinely difficult to read the menu. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Parlour. There are plenty of better burger spots in the Minneapolis area that offer better food, better service, and better value. I got the Butter Lettuce Salad - extremely basic with pickled onions, parm shavings, and balsamic dressing, but it was light and fresh. The lettuce leaves were whole so I added some to my burger. Of course I ordered the Parlour burger + egg and bacon. I texted my friend who recommended this place immediately! This is easily fighting for the best burger I've ever had, but I can't explain why. The patty is so tender, cheese is perfectly melted and there's so much flavor but it's also soo simple. I tried the blood orange margarita was pleasantly surprised although the price was pretty high. The food menu isn't huge, but everything sounded really cool. But we were here for one purpose- the burger. It's honestly simply made, just a smash burger dressed with just cheese. There are some delicious (I assume house made) pickles on the plate and they have ketchup and mustard on the table. I added all of this to mine, but honestly it was delicious even plain. "Cheeseburger" didn't steer us wrong. We also got one fry to share, and the 2 of us still couldn't finish them all. They were hot, salty, and fantastic. After admittedly ordering the Parlour burger three times in 2023, it is now my standard for all future burgers. With two ground chuck, ribeye, and brisket smash patties and a couple slices of melty, white American cheese between a soft and buttery Egg Bun, it just works. Nothing frilly or fancy - no bacon, fried egg, peanut butter, special sauce, or onion ring is required. You just have to trust that the simple ingredients will shine. I would also recommend ordering their fries with a side of Swiss aioli. Delightful! Not only do I love Parlour for their burger, but for the space they create as well. Down a little stairwell in the heart of North Loop, you enter a dimly lit, cozy space with a long bar, intimate booth seating, and a comfortable but small waiting area (where you an order a drink) if you are committed to walking in on a weekend night without a reservation.
