I recently went to Parlour Bar with a friend for a burger and a drink on a sunday night and it was delightful! Our server was so kind and had great conversation with us. She gave us good insight on the cocktail menu and my friend really enjoyed her recommendations. It was a seat yourself speakeasy vibe, dimmed lighting great variety of seating options and I've heard it's a nice intimate night out scene on weekday evenings. I would for sure return and bring more friends!

Amazing burger spot in North Loop. Just a perfect burger and fries served in a cool trendy environment by super nice people. Even had awesome deviled eggs and a killer brownie sundae. Love Parlour.

Came to The Parlour because I'd heard whispers, rumors, and possibly urban legends about how amazing the burgers are, and also because I was very hungry, which is the most important detail here. First impression: super cool ambiance. Low lighting, cozy but hip vibes, and plenty of seating so you don't feel like you're playing musical chairs with strangers. The drink menu caught our attention immediately, so naturally we all ordered something fancy and felt very sophisticated about it. Then came the food. I ordered the Parlour Burger because if you don't order the item named after the place, are you even trying? I also ordered a deviled egg. Not deviled eggs. Just one. Singular. Apparently that's how they roll. We also got fries, and let me save you some time, the fry portion is large. Like, "feeds the table" large. Pro tip: share them unless you're emotionally prepared. Everything was delicious... except that one lonely deviled egg. It just didn't hit my taste buds right. Maybe it was having an off day. It happens. The burger? Fantastic. The fries? AMAZING. Like, I'd come back just for the fries. Overall, great spot. Friendly service, tasty drinks, excellent food (RIP deviled egg, no hard feelings). If you go, you'll have a great time, and possibly too many fries, which is honestly the best problem to have.

Stopped into Parlour after it came highly recommended by a friend. It was a little tricky figuring out how to get inside since you have to head down the stairs to enter. Once you're in, you're welcomed by a moody, dimly lit atmosphere that sets a cool, relaxed tone. Traveling solo, I grabbed a seat at the bar, and I'm glad I did. The bartenders were entertaining to watch as they mixed a variety of creative cocktails with real flair. I started with an order of deviled eggs, which were delicious. For my entrée, I went with the classic burger and fries. Both were very good, though the burger was a bit on the salty side. That might just be my taste buds talking, though. I'll definitely be back. Next time, I might try something different from the menu--maybe a burger with more toppings or one of their other specialties. Overall, the service was great, the vibe was fun, and it's absolutely worth a visit.

I really like the buns and the burger overall is good, but I like their fries even more! I've gone twice and haven't had to wait more than 5 minutes to get seated even when it was busy.

Just an update to say this place is still awesome On a weekday just walk in and seat yourself, staff is on top of it with water and menu right away We shared the famous burger with fries Delicious fries super fresh and salty The Parlour burger is one of my faves, although greasy buttery it is tasty and bonus easy to eat and not crazy messy!! Also not gonna lie- I'm loving my 90s r&b music in the background !!!

A really great spot! The moody vibe of the restaurant feels like a speakeasy. I went there for my dinner club for this month and it was perfect. We ended up splitting all the burgers so we had a bite of a few different ones. Highly recommend the fries to split for the table as well. The service was great and very attentive.

Swung by the Parlour and picked up food on the way back to my hotel. I got the Butter Lettuce Salad - extremely basic with pickled onions, parm shavings, and balsamic dressing, but it was light and fresh. The lettuce leaves were whole so I added some to my burger. Of course I ordered the Parlour burger + egg and bacon. I texted my friend who recommended this place immediately! This is easily fighting for the best burger I've ever had, but I can't explain why. The patty is so tender, cheese is perfectly melted and there's so much flavor but it's also soo simple. I would leave off the bacon next time, it was amazing but too thick to eat on the burger and I would keep the egg.

Tucked away and kinds of hidden like a speakeasy! It's a popular spot so seating was limited inside but I sat outside. I loved their drink menu options! I had the What the F#@!culent? and it was deliciously refreshing! The waitress was attentive and super friendly.

One of my favorite cocktails spots over the years. The entrance reminds me of the show cheers cause you walk down the stairs to get into it from the outside. Inside, super dim lighting, comfy seats and a cool bar. Usually great tunes playing and staff is always friendly and great with recommendations. Love the fries and aoli and their burger is easily one of my favorites in MN. The cocktail list does change pretty often but I always find something I like. Whether I go there for dinner and drinks or for a late night cap, it's always a great experience!

Came in for a drink but decided to try their famous burger. My party got the old fashion and seemed to enjoy their drink (I don't drink). You seat yourself and unfortunately the music was blasting in the area we were sitting at. Asked if it could be turned down but was told no they couldn't. Service was great though, she kept checking on us and never rushed. Finally the famous burger....well let's just say I won't go back for seconds. The burger and bread were super greasy on the bottom. It did not sit well in my stomach after we left.

To be so bold to have a handful of things on your menu in a North Loop location, you must be doing something very special! And boy do they have something great going on!! You go to Parlour for their burgers and fries... nothing else, very simple proposition. If you have ever watched How I Met Your Mother, and remember the episode were Marshall is looking for the best burger in NYC and feels so deeply for his memory of this magical burger, this is exactly how you will feel after eating this burger. Simple, unassuming, and packing a ton of flavor! Located in a basement with minimal (if any) indication of its existence, it gives you a speakeasy feeling that adds to the mysticism surrounding their offerings. Please give yourself time as it tends to be quite busy, but stick around and brave the wait for a wonderful meal accompanied by crafty drinks! By the way, another unexpected twist, their popcorn is incredible.

Relatively easy to find, though you do have to hunt a little bit, Flora Room sits behind a nondescript metal door leading down a short hallway to the entrance. Take a long moment to allow your eyes to adjust if you're coming before sunset; this space is DARK. It's also perfect. Once your "night vision" kicks in you're surrounded by a nice bar, numerous bistro-style tables and booths. Candles adorn the tables creating a nice, cozy place to settle in for drinks. Once seated in comfortable chairs at a table, we were quickly greeted and provided with menus. The cocktail selection is relatively "small" but really nicely varied. Prices seemed a tad steep but frankly, given the quality of the drinks I'd say quite worth it. I started out with the Evita, a nice flavorful gin-base cocktail topped with a nice egg white foam. Very tasty. My wife opted for the Tapaculo, with gin, mezcal, pineapple, banana and bitters over ice. Also quite good. There are also bites available from the associated restaurant I can't recall the name of mine but I can say it was delicious. Bread-like bites with a really tasty dipping sauce. To close out the visit I selected Palo, a smoked aged rum cocktail that was really nice and rich. My wife chose the Nahualito with rum, walnut, amontillado and white chocolate. All should be on your radar. Flora Room really fit the bill for a nice, intimate speakeasy-style spot to spend time. Dark and cozy. Savory cocktails and friendly service will stand out and make you want to return. I know we'll seek it out if we return to Minneapolis again. I hope so.

Fortunately, I arrived at 5:30 PM on a Saturday, which was early enough to avoid a line and a velvet rope. I don't wait in line for anything unless I'm at a pharmacy, bakery, post office, or airport. Lines at restaurants and bars strike me as pretentious or bad management, and I don't tolerate either. However, I'm old, and at my age, nothing is worth waiting for unless it's a necessity. I found a seat at the beautiful and expansive bar and looked around at the Del Prado design. The colors might be different, but Flora was reminiscent of Minari and Noma. All three add to the Twin Cities' cachet. However, I was taken aback by the attire I saw around me. People were dressed in shorts, T-shirts, and sneakers. It's friggen Saturday night Minneapolis. Have some class! Flora Room was a lovely cocktail lounge, perfect for wooing, but don't expect to strike up a conversation with any of the bartenders. At these Del Prado joints, the staff must be trained not to engage. I'm out alone and enjoy talking. Bartenders used to be part of a lounge's attraction when I grew up in NYC. They learned your name, knew what you did, and gave you a hearty welcome. That, I guess, is not part of the culture in Minneapolis. Well, at least not at the Del Prado restaurants and bars. Chef Del Prado is from Argentina, and certainly, Argentina is one of the warmest and friendliest countries in the world, so I don't get it. I now live up the block from the Flora Room. I'm a neighbor and would like to be treated like one. Neighborly and the Flora Room are distant concepts.

Upon entering we were greeted by a woman who was clearly wearing multiple hats as she seemed rushed, a bit off putting and quite frankly distracted. It was Juneteenth the middle of the afternoon and there were maybe 6 people at the bar and one other table besides ours with 2 diners. The person seating us was also our server and the bartender. Menu is small but the items we ordered were all fabulous! Every single one! The collard green dip with cornbread pita chips was absolutely delicious - Think spinach artichoke dip but soul food! The salmon croquettes with lemon herb aioli and arugula salad that accompanied were fresh and light! The catfish sandwich with fries was hot, crispy and well seasoned with fresh lettuce and tomato on a perfectly tender brioche bun. I want to return so bad for the food but it was clear this host, server, bartender and partial cook was pulled in too many directions and that severely compromised our service and gave us stand off energy as first time patrons. I looked it up and she is actually one of the owners. She came across as irritated especially once we didn't order any alcoholic drinks first and then very short and curt following. What took the cake was her telling us she was leaving for the day and needed to close our tab while we were eating. Didn't ask did we want to order anything else and there was another server taking her place and an empty restaurant! My partner had to put his sandwich down wipe his hands pull out his wallet while she stood there impatiently. Then proceeded to linger around hugging her regular bar patrons. It was clear this is a "regulars" spot and if you're not one you're rolling the dice on the service you may or may not get. We were patient and didn't complain because it was Juneteenth and our intention to support black restaurants all weekend. I have many previous years in the industry as a cook, host and GM and I was stunned to know that she was one of the owners when I looked it up. Had planned to return for live music but unfortunately the off putting energy and unwelcoming vibe may have squashed that possibility. I hope they improve service because the food is delicious and deserves attention from a larger and more sophisticated audience.
