I Visited Silo Bar for date night on a Friday evening. I was worried that it would be too busy when I arrived, but thankfully it was not. Inside, Inside Silo Bar is dim; they have booths, high tables and chairs, bar sitting, and regular-size tables and chairs. We experienced pleasant customer service. Their drink menu is bast, their food menu is small, and everything we ordered was outstanding. The cocktails are thoughtfully crafted, and I love their chocolate Martini. It is a shame their food options are only "shareables/tapas" like, so I look forward to returning and ordering many of their shareables and making it a full meal--a perfect place for a date or a cozy night with friends. read more

Great wine tasting on a Friday evening with a Wine Memorabilia from Duckhorn. With an Italian Maïtre D and Fabi as our host we overall had a very good time. When one of the waiter charged us $4 more for the tasting. When bringing this fact his attention he first stated that it was the taxes, then when showing him that taxes are separated on the bill he stated that it was the processing fee for the credit card. I was not going to start a big argument as we had a pleasant night with my wife but that was not so cool. This said, their squid tacos were absolutely delicious. And the tasting was really a great value. They also have some a great wine selection themselves. So, overall a good experience and definitely a place to go to on Friday night! Drinks are not consistent. Ambiance is nice. Staff is polite but you have to follow up with them or seek assistance as the customer. (IE they don't come back to check on you). Manhattans ate delish and strong, skip the Caramillo menu at all costs. Three tries and still tasted like watered down coffee with ice. Had a wonderful date night here. Sat at the bar and it was lovely. The bartender was extremely knowledgeable and made me one of the best mocktails I've ever had ! Food portions were HUGE. Shareable is an understatement. We had the guacamole and beet salad to start with and both were delicious. Shared the steak frites and Brussels for dinner and had tons of leftovers. We couldn't stick around for the DJ but apparently they have great entertainment at night on multiple days. Highly recommend this place. Did you ever have a dessert so good it's in your dreams also and you wake up salivating and keep thinking about it? No? Well it's because you probably haven't had the in-house made black cherry ice cream with creme brulee and caramel smear at the Silo Bar. This is what dreams are made of. Hubby waxed poetic about it as he was eating it clean, then continued to knacker on about it in the car ride home, and now continuing this morning. He's expounding how he hasn't found a dessert he liked so much, especially since he dislikes black cherry ice cream; the cherries get freeze burn and tastes weird normally, but it tastes fresh and natural in this one since it's freshly churned. I don't eat ice cream enough to tell the difference but I love black cherry ice cream and this one is exceptional, not too sweet with a slight tang and creamy finish. The creme brulee is also really good, usually it leaves an oily film in my mouth and it's too eggy tasting, but this was just right. The almond caramel smear went along perfectly with it and the whole dessert is shareable. I highly recommend this dessert should they have it since everything is made in house and seasonal. I took hubby here to end our date night because I love the aesthetic of the place, it's like a step up from the dive bar scene, but still retains the comfortable atmosphere, and the prices and low key location is not as dressy as the higher end bars like the Mirador. The service and selection for wine, liquors, and food are top notch though. We ordered a craft beer and some scotch eggs to share and really just enjoyed our night. We found out that they have live music on Fridays and is kid friendly! The patio is where it's held and the Substation is super lit up and cute at night. We'll be back to enjoy this neighborhood delight and keep dreaming about that dessert! This place is so cool! I love the rustic vibe with the awesome bar area and hanging lights! Two TVs are available. There is a patio area. All staff are wearing masks and masks are required until seated. Hours are currently Wednesday through Sunday 4pm to 10pm. First let me say the food and drinks were great. I was pleasantly surprised by the portions of food and how good everything was! I recommend the corn fritters, smoked salmon, and Baja tacos! I ordered side of their truffle aioli and it went really well with everything! Drinks: My boyfriend loved the honey reserve it's a whiskey drink that is very smooth. I got the English beet which was really good! It definitely had a strong beet taste with a touch on gin but it definitely grew on me as I drank it. The three star review is for the service. They are definitely under-staffed and it showed. It took a while for us to get anything including our waters and drinks. Our bill was also incorrect. If I could leave a zero I would. First, they're breaking Texas law today by adding an automatic gratuity without disclosing it on the menu or on a sign near the entrance. Second, the service is dreadful! It was taking 30 minutes for the waiter to return to the table. Cocktails were empty a long time ago. Water was empty too. This happened TWICE. Third, the manager was hiding in the back for most of the night, oblivious to the dumpster fire in his restaurant. The food is good but not great - the chef is unimaginative for the menu. The cocktails are also good but overpriced for West Texas. I guess because of the automatic gratuity, the server was knowingly lazy, that or he quite possibly is "challenged". I might be sympathetic if he had 10+ tables to wait but he had 4 and that was too many. This bar has great ambiance and location but the owner needs to spend more time here to see how the manager and poor wait service are dragging down his bar. I feel bad for the bartenders and on waitress who appeared competent. They are on a sinking ship that won't last 6 months unless a change is made. read more

This place is tucked backed in a corner and has a great ambiance. The lighting is low, which sets the mood, and the music is nice. After choosing a seat, one of the owners came over and shook my hand to introduce himself. He explained the menu and even offers suggestions based on what you like. Our drinks were so good. I would go back just for that! I had the Pomegranate Buck. Just the perfect amount of sweet as to not hide the taste of that bourbon. I predict This place will be out of business in short order. The food has NYC prices for extremely small portions. The wine is a decent selection at insane prices too: for example, a bottle of Caymus Cabernet is $160.00 at the Silo Bar. You can buy the same bottle for $95.00 at the Holy Grail or for $105.00 at West Texas Steakhouse. Although the inside atmosphere is nice, it isn't that nice. Save yourself the trouble and visit a place that isn't trying to cover their rent with every single check. We went on a Sunday evening and the place was barren. However, the proprietor sat in the corner booth the entire time. He had no time or interest to stop by our table. Further proof that he is self-absorbed, just as everything else about this place indicates. He is out of touch with El Paso and the people. Ugh Silo, we were having such a great honeymoon period but you let me down. I've been many times and have enjoyed the food and cocktails at Silo but last Tuesday was a nightmare. I went with my spouse and parents. We arrived at about 4:30, excited to get some plates to share as we had done previously. Then our waiter informs us that their food delivery truck did not arrive and they have very few things on the menu. And by very few, I mean everything we asked for was not available. But the server was unclear because he kept coming back to inform us that yet another item was not available. It was very disappointing. We settled on chicken tacos and potatoes. Our server was totally unapologetic and had no sense of humor at all. Would've helped if he at least had said sorry about that or offered a free dessert or something. I've never been to any restaurant where they only had like 3 items off their menu. Couldn't they have run to the store down the street to grab stuff for salad? It really would've made a difference if the server had a better attitude (he acted annoyed with us) or if the manager had come over and explained the problem and apologized. read more

I was blown away by their customer service! 5 stars! We came here looking for their creme brûlée only to find out the kitchen was closing. However, our server offered to make them herself and I was speechless. Any other restaurant would have said sorry the kitchen is closed and that's it. It was a small but such a grand gesture. I went there the first time with my family on a Tuesday night and it was completely packed. I could tell the owner and the staff were very stressed, but they still made room for us outdoors with heaters. The wait staff went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and somehow maintained an amazingly good attitude. They also let us know the best things to order for this time so we wouldn't have to wait too long. I could see the owner himself working the kitchen, working the bar, and talking to patrons at their tables. The food was great with our favorites, being the scotch eggs and steak with frites.
