I grew up in a musical family and could sing pretty much since I could talk. I spent several years performing in choirs and doing musical theater. It has been almost three years since I have been taking voice lessons with Satyam Patel. I've had many voice teachers around the world and have been told that my range was limited. I went to Satyam for specialized help in a transition. I can't begin to express how incredibly helpful and transforming his instruction was (both vocally and personally). I come from a music background and previous voice training so I was hesitant but I trusted the friend who recommended him. He spent almost 25 minutes with me in a vocal assessment and quickly diagnosed issues/concerns that were giving me problems. Before I left my assessment, he was giving me tips and "homework" to improve. I was extremely impressed and relieved to be making headway in just an assessment - I couldn't wait for lessons to start. I spent three months in lesson working on some of my issues. If I could give more stars I would. Both me and my 8 year old daughter go to Satyam for lessons. Vocals for myself and piano for my daughter. I've had singing lessons in the past and Satyam hands down is the best. My range has grown, I have more vocal control, pitch and tone have improved, and most of all the confidence I have in my ability has and continues to rise. Satyam has pushed me out of my comfort zone and we all know that is where growth happens. He genuinely cares for his students and understands the science behind the voice.
