I live super close to Brindleys, and I love supporting local! I have a professional model solid silver flute that I wanted to get overhauled, as it hasn't been played in several years. Everyone I spoke to was really nice, and I was able to get my flute serviced quickly. The instrument repair person is there on Wednesdays and Saturdays. They did a pretty good job, but definitely didn't polish my flute, which I was kind of disappointed about, especially since I asked it to be thoroughly cleaned (this was also indicated on my service ticket they typed up). I was able to polish it myself after I got it back with a silver polishing cloth that I had to purchase. They have a huge variety of instruments, accessories, and books! It does seem to be more catered to guitars/percussion, but they still had a decent selection for woodwinds and brass. They also have tons of teachers that do private lessons. I will definitely be returning if I need anymore repairs done, as they did a nice job with those! read more

Bruce and his staff are terrific to deal with. I thought I needed a new fret job on my 60 year old Rickenbacker. Bruce suggested that he could simply replace the "nut" which elevates the strings above the frets. Well, bingo he was right. Saved me some serious $. Three years ago, my daughter suddenly decided she wanted to learn to play guitar. I began researching and asking folks, "Do you know of any great guitar instructors for a never-held-an-instrument teen?" The amount of responses I received that mentioned Brindley's was overwhelming. I immediately made a phone call to see about signing my daughter up for lessons. (what I thought would be a soon to fizzle out hobby) We took the first available time slot that Donnie had open. From the first lesson, she was hooked. Donnie has an amazing approach to getting students engaged and he makes learning a brand new instrument FUN. My daughter learned the basics, of course, but he lets the student take the lead with music that THEY enjoy. Poor Donnie had to endure more Harry Styles than he ever wanted to in those early days of lessons lol. Donnie is unbelievably patient and dedicated, and with every 30 minute lesson, my daughter amazed me with how quickly she gained confidence and ability in her playing. I LOVE listening to her play guitar. What I originally thought would be a hobby she'd soon be bored of, she has surprised me with her commitment and love for guitar. Going to practice is something she looks forward to each week. And while high school commitments now often take precedence, Donnie has always been understanding when she needs to reschedule due to unavoidable calendar conflicts. He is genuinely supportive in both her music and scholastic/personal life, which takes the pressure off of her feeling any guilt about having to rearrange her lesson. Thank you Donnie for being, quite simply, an amazing human being. I wish the world had more people like you in it. I wanted to have my Takamine looked at as I couldn't decide if the frets were uneven or if I had a neck twist because the action seemed a tad high and I was still getting some buzz on the higher frets. I searched around before stepping into Brindley's because I wouldn't trust the techs at Guitar Center with it. Stepping into this place for the first time was almost felt like coming home to a place you didn't know you missed. The luthier took a look at my guitar, going over it expertly for about fifteen minutes before advising there wasn't a neck twist and there were a few high frets which could be sanded down but that the action was about as low as it could go. No charge for going over the guitar which was appreciated. After taking care of business I had them tuck my guitar away behind their counter for a bit so I could just wander around this little gem of a shop. I instantly fell in love with this place because they are an official Ibanez dealer! Yes, everybody sells Ibanez electric guitars, because that's what they are primarily known for. They make a really nice acoustic guitar though, and while you can always find a few of their acoustic guitars at any given guitar shop the selection is generally limited to the Artwood lineup. Here they have acoustic guitars from across their entire lineup. I've always been a fan of Ibanez guitars. The quality and sound of their acoustics as well as the pricing and playability all top notch. Ibanez guitars aren't as recognizable as Fender or Gibson guitars, yet they spend their money on building quality instruments rather than PR. I've own a Takamine, a Fender and Breedlove acoustic guitars but I always come back to my Ibanez. Finding this awesome store dealing Ibanez acoustic guitars from across their entire lineup, and with an expert luthier on site just makes me happy in my soul. read more

Recently wanted to learn to play guitar and did a ton of research online looking at new and used guitars. I stumbled across a listing on OfferUp from this shop and saw the guitar I just had to have! I reached out to them and they said it was still available. So, I went into tue store to check it out. I was pleasantly surprised how "home-y" this shop was. I was immediately greeted and assisted and found the guitar I wanted and fell in love with it. What a wonderful little gem of a place. The staff were very helpful talking me through the guitar options. We came in looking to start guitar lessons with Guitar Tommy after reading his wonderful reviews online and he has been great. My son started about a month ago and Guitar Tommy has been very thoughtful with his instruction. My son has a background in piano and picks up things quite quickly. I've been impressed with the way Guitar Tommy has worked with him on certain songs he is passionate about learning and weaving them into his teachings for a beginner guitar player. Meh. All the guitars and bass's have mile high action and are cheap. They have a couple good ones used. What got me was I asked for a pick and the guy told me to be careful with the new ones and not play heavy handed but the used ones were ok. There was no discernible tag or marking to tell you what's used or new and the fact that he was telling me to not play heavy handed was just poor customer service. A string broke on my guitar and as a person new to the instrument I wasn't familiar with fixing a broken string. I called the store because it was near my house. Bruce answered and said I could bring it in, gave me the store hours and that they can fix it in a few minutes. I arrived and was helped immediately, fixed the broken string and they even made sure it was tuned! I don't remember the name of their person who actually fixed it but he was quick. I am a total beginner when it comes to guitars but I had brought a long a cousin that is pretty experienced and both him and I had a wonderful experience here. I was specifically looking for a local guitar shop to bring in my Fender CD100CE (left-handed) acoustic electric guitar. I'm just starting out and bought it used from a local seller and needed the bridge re-glued--it was beyond the paper test and was really lifted from the body. It's a really neat place that's super unsuspecting near downtown Chandler. When you walk in through the door along the "side" where the side street leads to 87/N Arizona Avenue, there's a small sitting area (no doubt for parents who brought their kid in for lessons) and it opens up to a small collection of rooms featuring a bunch of guitars and a few other instruments. One room seems dedicated to just accessories, another to acoustics and strings. Bruce and everyone there were so kind. He stuck to the estimate I was given and even did a few extra things like polish and check out the pickup, which wasn't working (and now is) and wasn't a priority, but let me know that if it was a simple fix he would go ahead and take care of it. I brought it in on a Monday and picked it up Thursday; for as many guitar repairs as he must have had, it was certainly a quick turn around and perfect as I was in the area for that week only before returning home. I really can't beat the price and service here, and if something's wrong with my guitar or I want to make some changes, this place is the first stop on my list. I can't stress enough how casual and straight-forward Bruce was, which made this rather intimidating process that much smoother. The bridge looks great, I'm ready for an amp if I ever decide to use one, and I'm all set for this learning process. read more
