These are the worst beds ever. Spring Air that was sagging after 6 months, I had the run around from the Sleep Shop for several months after and they approved one to be returned but not the other, then when I went to exchange for something else they said they had to come and look and said it was dirty. The only way it was dirty was from dust because I was not sleeping on it and when I did it had a very heavy mattress cover! 2 months ago the same bed was approved for warranty. Now its not and has not been slept on! I would not buy Spring Air or go to either the sleep Shop or the Next in Auburn, their stuff is sub par at best. I will be writing a review about the Nest in Auburn as well, and from others I know who got screwed from the quality of their products. read more

I am so glad I went into the Sleep Shop to purchase my new mattress. I had made the mistake of buying my last mattress from an on-line website and it was the worst move I ever made. First I like a soft mattress that I sink into, so I went with their softest mattress which was rated a firmness of 4.5 out of 10. This proved to be too soft and caused back and leg pain. I contacted them and they sent me the next firmness level, our "Most Popular Model" 6.5 out of 10. Wow! Way too hard! I contacted them and said I would stick to the 4.5 model because I could bulk it up with several comforters. They informed me that I was out of the region for them to come and pick up my mattress! Thanks! Now I have another mattress to get rid of myself! So after months of this I knew I had to get something new, and mattress are NOT cheap, but I was at wits end. I went into the Sleep Shop and worked with Adam. He is great, he's a pro and this is his business! He understands what my needs were and showed me several different mattress that fit my needs. I can say that this mattress has exceeded my expectations and I will return when its time to purchase another mattress! read more

Absolutely fantastic experience! My husband and I did our homework, we knew what we were looking for and could not be swayed. We were just going to do some in person research before we actually bought...thinking we would just do it online. We walked through the doors and tried to avoid eye contact- we wanted to beeline to the back and browse on our own. I am SO glad that Adam persisted with a few questions, which, I admit, seemed odd at first, but I could tell he was extremely knowledgable about mattresses, sleep styles and what overall would be best for both of our very different sleep needs. Truth be told, we bought that day and got something that we didn't know that we wanted- but made us equally happy. Adam found us the best price without us even asking. They were flexible with our crazy work schedules, delivered on time and quick! (I think they were in and out of our house in less than 10 minutes!) Bedding salesmen are just like car salesman, they will do and say whatever necessary to make the sale. Unfortunately this place got me. I purchased a $3200 mattress from the owners son and a personal friend of my siblings being told the company (aireloom) truly cared and catered to their customers comfort needs and would customize the firmness of the mattress if need be. I contacted sleep shop after realizing the bed was too soft. I was told by the same person who sold me the mattress that aireloom did not offer that service and I was out of luck. Now I have a 3k mattress taking up storage space Thanks a bunch Adam. I recommend people stay away from sleep shop and other generic mattress store fronts as we now have the option to order directly through natural mattress suppliers. These mattress are made with natural products and do not contain polyurethane foam, formaldehyde, boric acid, antimony (a heavy metal similar to arsenic) and worst of all, polybrominated diphenyl ethers. All these chemicals are wreaking havoc on our sleep and our health as we spend 1/3 of our lives in them. All of these suppliers offer 90-120 day comfort guarantee along with white glove delivery and removal of your old mattress. No more sleazy mattress dealers! read more

I guess it's my own fault, I was in a hurry and just took what was offered, no research. Last year I bought a Simmons Beauty Sleep Cole Valley Queen mattress for our second home in Grass Valley, CA. $599, at the suggestion of the salesperson at the Sleep Shop. I needed the convenience of their location and quick delivery. After only a dozen or so weekends over several months, it seems to be flattening out like a pancake, almost like it needs more "air". Now, ten months later, I see the same mattress for as low as $399 and not very good reviews. Of course, no guarantee after 30 days, and no help with the manufacturer. Good service, but watch out for quality. I have heard others say the same. I'm going to need to replace it in less than a year. read more

We bought a bed in the Box first because consumer reports said it was the best mattress you could buy. They are dead wrong a mattress in a box is a really BAD idea. Me and my fiancé came in and just felt uncomfortable from the start not only does it look kinda trashy inside but the sales man was supper weird. at first he was questioning us why we even came in. Three days after I bought a mattress that caused me excruciating pain, I was told they don't take returns. I'm already out $1500+. If I do a one-time exchange, I'll be out another $225 for their restocking fee plus whatever the difference is in cost. TempurPedic website allows for returns with a $175 shipping fee. I am very disappointed with the customer service offered by the sleep shop. I purchased a mattress from them a year ago for over a thousand dollars and the first day I got it home my new puppy tore it up. I called to see if there was anything they could do but of course there was nothing they could offer. They didn't even offer a discounted price on a new mattress. That did not turn me off of this place though. I returned a year later (about a month ago) and purchased a $5000 tempurpedic. I appreciated that the salesman gave me the Memorial Day price a few days early. However, when the bed was delivered it was delivered with no frame. So the guys put my brand new bed on the I cleaned floor of the house I just bought. The bed was on the ground for over a week before I could find the time to go get the frame. My wife went to pick up the frame. When she did the guy working there just handed the 80lb box to my wife who is 5'3" and could barely carry it to the car. No help offered by the guy working. Another few days went by before I could put the bed up on the frame since I have a job with crazy hours and no free time. It was the job of the delivery guys to put the frame together, not me. The owners/staff Seth and his brother at The Sleep Shop are fabulous, Knowledgeable, friendly, honest, and not pushy. At one point we were not sure whether to come back a different day, and Seth just said, "No problem, we'll be here for you." Well, without the high pressure sales, we lingered longer and bought the bed of our dreams that very day. We tried many and took our time. It was all worth it. I called in because I needed a frame in a hurry. My current one broke and I was in the middle of a move. After calling in and dropping by the guy had the frame sitting by the counter ready for me. I didnt ask for that, he just assumed if I called in I'd be by shortly. I was in and out in 3 minutes. I'll be back to this place for my next mattress. My husband and I recently decided to replace our old mattress. We went in to the Sleep Shop in Grass Valley, on a fact gathering mission. The staff there was knowledgeable, polite, never pushy and considerate of our budget and specific sleep needs. We actually ended up purchasing our new bed from The Sleep Shop in Auburn, as they had a specific model that we were able to sit on, lay down on and touch. The staff in Auburn was equally competent. The varied selection of mattresses was fantastic. Their prices were competitive with the 'big box' stores in the valley and it feels good to purchase locally. I found the staff very friendly when I was in the purchashing phase of my new bed. When I realized that the bed might be defective, they were very hard to get a hold of. I callled four times with no response and went in twice before I recieved help. This family run business is very helpful when all is going well however when things didnt go well, I was grossly dissapointed in their actions with me.
