booked a cleaning appt with my husband 6 months ago. we love dr fishkin and were happy to come back to his practice. our appt 6 months ago went well. we were able to have our cleanings at the same time which made our trip to mountainside from jersey city very convenient. we booked concurrent appts again. arrived at 3. waited in the waiting room for 25 mins before we were told (because we asked) that the one hygienist was running very late and we wouldn't be seen until 45 mins after our scheduled appt. then we were told that our cleanings would be back to back. unacceptable. we won't be coming back. read more

Fishkin and his associates (hustlers?) are guided by fees and have thinning ethics. Shame on them. I've been going here for years--that is until recently when Dr. Fishkin changed the business' priorities from quality to commission. (search "fee-for-service" and "overutilization" online). Since Fishkin took over, the quality of dentistry has degraded. He and his associates push services and treatments that are both unnecessary and more expensive. They recommend treatments that require more visits and have a low success rates. My crown fell out a less than a month after I got it. In his crooked eyes, that's good for business (after all, he charged $1200 for the replacement). Though everyone is very kind/courteous, congenial, and the nurses are equally polite/gentle, don't be fooled. Manners and charm do not translate to good dentistry. Overall, dentists are unsupervised and have little incentive to do a quality job except for a code of ethics. If they do a careless job, the patient doesn't notice as dentists can essentially "cover up" their shoddy work with fillings, crowns, and posts. Fishkin and his associates may be exploiting this. BTW, "fee-for-service" (FFS) is a payment model used in health care; it gives an incentive for physicians/dentists to provide more treatments (including unnecessary ones) because payment is dependent on the quantity of care, rather than quality of care. And, "overutilization" refers to medical services that are provided with a higher volume or cost than is appropriate. It's a medical moral hazard. read more

a minute ago Top Notch Dentist Office from top to bottom, whether is the front end staff who go above and beyond in appointment scheduling, finding providing that accept your coverage or just general billing questions they go above and beyond what is generally asked at an office. On top of that the staff is always friend ly to be around and understanding when it comes to scheduling. Doctor's Fishkin, Asiata and their whole staff are too notch. They were the one discover that both my mom and myself have a teeth grinding problem at night. And since getting my mouth guard two years ago it has been life changing for myself both for my teeth and my sleep. Highly recommend and would consider keeping them as dentists even if I didn't live in the area because I know going back I would only receive the best care. People can often be skeptical of going to the Dentist but in all honesty I look forward to my appointments because I know I will only be receiving the best care. read more

I found this place and went with it because you can make appointments online. Originally the appointment was double booked, but they were able to make it work and accommodate me. Keith did a great job cleaning my teeth and was super friendly as was Dr. Fishkin. Every one I encountered was very nice. I liked that the "goodie bag" consisted of a nice (not just generic) toothbrush, lip balm, mouth wash, Crest 3D toothpaste, and floss. read more

I have been a patient of Dr Fishkin for a few years now. A couple of days ago I received a bill for services that I questioned. I called the office and spoke with the Office Manager who also is conveniently Dr Fishkin wife. From the moment I got on the phone and questioned a fee I was black listed. Part of being in the health care profession and dealing with patients is dealing with billing questions. As a patient I am fully within my rights to ask about any and all fees associated with my care. I was spoken to in a derogatory manner. I was laughed at and told basically that I was "stupid" enough to believe that a consultation was complimentary and that it was my fault I was billed. There is no excuse in the world for the way I was spoken to and the ONLY reason it happened is because the woman handling the billing is the wife of the dentist. This is a gross abuse of her position and in any other practice she would be fired for the way she spoke to a patient. in addition as I was originally referred by a friend I have found out that some people have been double billed or billed for procedures they did not have. I am pretty sure this is insurance fraud. I am not sure what is happening at the practice but it is not good. If you want abuse go to this dentist if not stay away. read more

Dr. Fishkin and his entire staff are just magical when it comes to patient care and dentistry. The office staff is second to none in attention to detail and customer focus. More importantly he and his associate have exceptional chairside manner and have been able to treat issues that were longstanding from a previous dentist and clearly explain and review the treatments. I had a very quick cleaning once and this dentist did a quickie exam. I'm sure he billed for a full comprehensive exam. My insurance didn't give him enough financial incentive to take time and explain what he thought needed to be done. Not that he put any thought into it. I went to thise because i was only interested in meeting this crook before having any serious expensive work done that involved paying out of pocket. I have some dental knowledge, so for me it was easy to determine if this was THE ONE. He wasn't. RUN AWAY FROM THIS UNSKILLED CROOK. You see, kids, dentistry is not an exact science. Its art. They can do whatever they want and get away with anything. Think about it before you sign consents for "treatment" and waste your money at this or any other place. This applies to any dentist, but this unskilled idiot is on the top of my black list. Sorry i can't recommend any dentists around here. Time to get this check up on the way. I've been seeing Dr. Fishkin since I was 10, he's the best dentist I've ever had. He relocated a long time ago and thought he was no longer seeing patients, until my sister found his new office. That's 2 years without him. When I found out where he was I immediately scheduled myself an appointment. When you have a Dr. That you trust and know stick with them as long as you can. Today's a good day. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Fishkin, his procedures are pain free, I've never had a problem. During the 2 years of not seeing him I actually developed my very first set of cavities, and that was when I was in my late 20's, as I mentioned ed earlier I've been seeing him since I was 10. I had horrible experience. Dr Fishkin changed me fee for crown and gave me veneer that was kept falling off. It was horrible not knowing when it is going to fall off again. I asked to replace it and he told me he will charge me again for crown. I am never going back. He will charge your insurance to the max with unnecessary exams and x-ray.
