Worst brisket I've ever had. Getting it this color should be studied. Not sure if I caught them on a bad day because the reviews looked promising. First time here. I saw they were doing a special this month: pulled pork sandwich, a side and a drink for $5!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]First, walking in, the space is open and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is a large menu on the back wall. Service was fast and friendly. The people working were all very nice and seemed happy to be working there. Along the back wall there is also a line up of bbq sauces, some pickles, jalapeños and onions to add to your sandwich and then the drink station. Above the bbq sauce is a great description of each type of sauce they have. For my side I ordered the Mac and cheese and got a sweet tea for my drink. The food came out very fast. I chose the sweet bbq sauce and apparently didn't snap the lid on all the way because when I opened my bag after throwing my sauce in there there was sauce everywhere! So make sure to snap on those lids! That was my fault tho. Now for the food. The sandwich was piled high with pulled pork. I didn't get to put on as much bbq sauce as I would have liked because most of it was in the bottom of the bag but from the little bit left in my container it was a very good sauce and went well with the pork. I did think the pork was a little dry but the flavors were great and I added coleslaw to it so that gave it a little crunch. I wasn't a fan of the Mac and cheese at all. If I was to stop here again I'd go with something else, probably the hush puppies. The Mac and cheese was more like a cheese soup with noodles. It was so liquidy. It just wasn't the kind of Mac and cheese I like. Maybe some people like it like this. It's just not for me. I ended up throwing it out after a couple bites. The sweet tea was on point! My favorite foods were the brisket, smoked chicken leg, sausage, buffalo chips, and banana pudding. They ran out of okra fries by the early afternoon so they called me to get a substitute side order. Ordered brisket, smoked chicken leg, sausage, and sides of potato salad, Brunswick stew, mac & cheese, and buffalo chips. The brisket and chicken were so tender and full of flavor. The brisket was just so amazing! I loved the crispy edges. Sausage was juicy and very good. There are both sweet and spicy sausages-they asked me when I arrived in person which ones I wanted. Brunswick stew was very oily. Potato salad had a lot of mayo, so really creamy. Mac & cheese was OK. The housemade buffalo chips were good, thinly sliced fried, seasoned potatoes. Banana pudding was very good. Even the pickles were super good, crispy and salty, just the way I like them. Tried Lexington, eastern, spicy, and tangy sauces. Not sure which one was which, since they weren't labeled. Next to the beverage station, they have sauces, pickles, and jalapeños for you to serve yourself. Just tried Smoke House this week after having a craving for southern sides. I was able to enjoy a small pulled pork barbecue sandwich along with a side of macaroni and cheese, collard greens, and baked beans. Something I really loved about this place that they had all types of barbecue sausages from along with ample to go cups so that you could take it with you. Service was quick and super friendly - I was greeted the minute I walked in the door. Ordering was quick fast any patient and the price was reasonable. Pulling up to a barbecue restaurant that was in a strip mall we were a little skeptical but let me be the first to say this was absolutely wonderful smoked meat. The barbecue was tender and moist as was the brisket. The tenders were okay but not as good as the rest. The homemade chips were delicious as were all the sides! It smells good, the people are nice and the service is friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place feels like Dickey's Barbecue since they didn't change it any so don't expect a restaurant feel, it's more of a fast food feel where you order in a line and go pick a table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It isn't fast food prices, though. We got brisket and ribs. Both have a rub on them and served dry. The ribs came to the table burnt. Like, real burnt with the bones black and charred. There's no excuse for that. Ever. The rub has tons of brown sugar in it and the rack was just not good quality so it was sweet, cheap, burnt mess with globs of fat throughout. The overcooked brisket was so dry except where the fat was. The cap piece was decently flavored. We had collards and they must be the kind from the northern states. You'll need to salt those and maybe try putting some of the meat fat in them for some flavor. The buffalo chips, just skip them. Flavorless and soggy. Mac n cheese is like al dente thick macaroni noodles with cheese. On to the sauces. Bring your own because there isn't a good one there. They're TERRIBLE. I cannot stress this enough. And they certainly aren't indicative of the states they claim each represents. Ya know, this whole thing makes me really miss Dickey's. They really were nice people, though so I hate to tell you how the experience was but, my gosh, it wasn't good. read more

Be sure to get some sauce by the drink station before you leave, they didn't put any sauce on either my brisket or ribs or in a cup on the side, although I asked "Is sauce and everything in these bags?" and was told "yes." I contacted Smokehouse in Monkey Junction via Facebook messenger to arrange a lunch for my staff of seven, and it was not just an incredibly easy process, but it was affordable and delicious! We all got the $10 April special- the pulled pork platter with two sides. They individually bagged each person's order and wrote their name on the outside of the bag (this was not expected nor requested by me- they just did it as a courtesy!). It was ready for pickup when I walked in the door, complete with napkins and utensils. They were attentive to my request and even followed up later in the day to ask if everything was good and prepared as expected.
