This place is not the best for large parties, and the seating organization is highly unfair. Even after placing our names on the list for 30 minutes, we were told it would take an additional 40 minutes. We waited patiently and watched multiple walk-ins (parties of 4 and 5) get seated immediately, even though they were never checked in and weren't even on the waitlist. What makes it worse is that we explicitly told the staff we didn't mind being split into different tables to speed up the process, but they ignored this. One host was nice, but the female manager/lead host was not pleasant at all and completely unhelpful. We are from out of town and lost a lot of time here. I really cannot recommend this place for large groups unless you have hours to waste. read more

I'm giving 2 stars because our waitress was sweet, kind, and did her best. We were initially told the wait would be about 30 minutes, but it ended up being closer to 50. While that was disappointing, I understand that delays happen. The bigger issue was the fly infestation toward the back of the restaurant. The flies were practically covering the mirror behind our table (as shown in my photos). While we were waiting for our food, they mostly stayed on the mirror and seats, but as soon as the food arrived, they were constantly landing on it. I spent the entire meal swatting flies away from our plates, which made it very difficult to enjoy our food. As for the food itself, the blueberry hush puppies were amazing! Unfortunately, the rest of the meal was disappointing. I ordered the Biscuit Shack, and it was served on tough bread with a slice of cheese that was still cold, as if it had just been taken out of the refrigerator and placed on top. Right after we sat down, we ordered cappuccinos (perfectly made) and their famous signature blueberry hush puppies. They arrived lightning-fast, and wow--they lived up to every bit of the buzz! Crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, served with butter and a delicious blueberry compote. Hands down one of the best starters we've had anywhere. The ambiance is spot-on: bustling and lively without being overwhelming or too noisy. The outdoor seating is shaded just right--not blasting in direct sun but still warm and pleasant for enjoying the beautiful day. The menu is extensive and everything sounded incredible, making it tough to choose! We went with the chicken and waffles, a smash burger with fries, and mahi tacos. Every single dish was outstanding. The chicken was tender and packed with flavor, the waffle was melt-in-your-mouth buttery perfection, and it came with its own little bottle of syrup--such a nice touch. Portions were generous, and the presentation was beautiful. The smash burger was juicy and satisfying, and the mahi tacos were fresh and flavorful. Blueberry's Grill has another location in Myrtle Beach, and since we're heading back to Charleston soon, we might have to swing by there too. Service is friendly and courteous but everything was served cold. Pancakes were cold and hard, the waffle is covered in goop and was also cold. Even though they were busy on this 4th of July weekend, we were seated quickly around 10am. Food came out in about 20 minutes. Everything was hot and fresh. The breakfast potatoes stood out. We ordered the veggies omelette, blueberry muffin, smoked salmon with eggs, a Benedict, and a blueberry waffle with berries. All delicious. My monte Cristo was perfect! The portion was just right-not too big and not too small! I finished everything on my plate! The sandwich was very toasty but not overly done. The entire experience was great. Upon arriving we notice a long line waiting outside the restaurant. The host was outside taking names and getting everyone in the list. My group and I were in town and wanted to try out Blueberry's after hearing from a few locals and were excited to see what it was about. We took a look at the menu beforehand and were even more excited to go in. Unfortunately we weren't able to try after waiting for a total of 2 hours. We had called beforehand to see what the wait time was to be able to plan accordingly. Once we arrived we were told an initial wait time of 62 minutes which was fine since we wanted to walk around and check out the shops. After the initial wait time, plus a little more, we were told another 20 minutes. Evidently those 20 minutes turned into 40 and we were just hot, hungry, and ended up going elsewhere. It was disappointing that we weren't able to try Blueberry's after waiting for ages. It seemed like a nice brunch place but didn't seem worth our while after such a long wait. Personally, I thought my whole experience was just OK. The rest of my party was very impressed though. I'd go three star. They'd probably go five stars so I'm splitting the middle. Firstly, we had to sign up early in the morning to get in line virtually. Our estimated seating time was 11:10. Granted it was Easter Sunday so we expected a little wiggle room but we were not seated until 12:45. We sat on the grass for over an hour and a half. I think there's probably something wrong with their reservation algorithms. The staff was fantastic! I mean really really attentive and friendly. They even took time to make sure our dogs had water and were given an excess of pets. For me, the highlight was the bloody Mary. I had the spicy and the spicy pickle bloody Mary's and they were amazing! I ordered the skillet with a side of corned beef hash. The skillet was very bland and I had to salt and pepper quite liberally. And the corned beef hash was all corned beef with just a couple little potato chunks hidden here and there. Mind you I love corned beef! But I like the hash part too. I did try a little bit of everybody else's food and I think maybe I ordered poorly but even their food was just good not great. That said, 100% I would come back! I think it was a really nice experience overall. If nothing else a Sunday brunch bloody Mary would put this place on repeat for me. read more

Blueberry Grill is one of our go to breakfast stops when we visit Wilmington. The restaurant was quite busy for a Monday morning. We were seated promptly and our waiter Judah was simply amazing. (He was actually our server when we stopped in last year too). Judah provides excellent customer service and is very attentive. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holiday season (Valentines) with speciality drinks to match. The Lovers Latte is a must have. This trip we enjoyed the Cinnamon Roll French toast, Blueberry Pancakes, Blueberry Hushpuppies, a Make your own Omelette and a Creole Atlantic Seafood Omelette. Everything was delicious and hot when it arrived at our table. All of the other staff members were all friendly and cordial. We also had a latte, margarita and pineapple mango punch, which were all amazing. The girls working the bar were fast and friendly! My only complaint is that we joined the online waitlist before arriving and given a wait time. We checked in as soon as we got there. After waiting for an hour after I had added myself to the online wait list I questioned how much longer and was informed that you don't actually get put on the waitlist until you check in, in-person.
