1st time visiting this establishment. I ordered a "to-go" plate with pork chop, mac n cheese, collards and hush puppies. The food was delicious. The hush puppies were too oily. The pork chop and side items were seasoned just right. Other than the hush puppies, the food was delicious. The staff and service were extremely nice and easy to talk to. I do plan to go back! Casey's did not disappoint with ots offerings. The ambiance was a step into the past with spreads of coke bottles, Pepsi cans and posters that remind me of school days. I glanced around for the Dick and Jane series of books! Amazing food was served on wooden chairs and inside plastic booths. The service was there to clear away used plates and make room for several trips back to the buffet. It is a road side stop ypu must consider on your travels, especially to Myrtle Beach. First time here. I'm in the area for work and I like to try local cuisines and this was recommended. So first the collard greens, black eyed peas, fried cabbage, and the green beans. Was just delicious as hell!! That's what I look forward to when I eat southern food!! The fired chicken was majorly over cooked, but their pulled pork with their bbq sauce was bomb!! The fried catfish was okay and their hamburger steak was decent as well. Overall I say this place was good quick stop if you love them southern greens!! The service was polite and honestly I don't like being overwhelmed with "you okay sir" or "how are you"!! I can see you looking to make sure I'm okay but not shadowing is great. The location was really off the beaten path from where they could be striving but not bad. Inside was good and it gave the vibe of old school southern cooking, but this place could use some updating. Went with some old timers from Wrightsville Beach for my 73rd birthday on 10/18. Since it and 1 1/2 hour from my home, it makes a drive back in forth in a day. We were seated immediately near the buffet and just eyeing all the goodies, made me even hungrier. Our waitress was quick and returned several times. The food was what I was looking for in comfort food that my grandma made. When I saw the fried chicken, I made a bee line to it and sides were bbq, boiled potatoes and string beans. A few minutes later, our waitress came by with fresh fried chicken! I got 5 legs (my all time favorite) and tried the mashed potatoes. Desert? bread pudding (which I make for Thanksgiving) and banana pudding. If I lived in town, I would eat here at least twice a month (on cholesterol meds) if not more. Conclusion: If you like real home cooked/soul food make a point to visit. You will not be disappointed. read more

My husband and I wanted to try this place out of curiosity, the restaurant was a bit dirty and it was outdated. Our waiter thought she was attentive and friendly. She made sure the table was cleared out before our next round. The food was overall good. My husband was excited when he saw they had a soft serve ice cream machine, but was disappointed when I told him I just watched a child put his mouth under one of the ice cream dispenser . All the mom did was bring a plate for him to pour the ice cream on. No consequence at all for what he did. Another customer saw what he did and told a waiter about it, from that moment until we left I didn't see anyone from the staff cleaning the dispenser. Let me start by saying this restaurant is not for everyone. If you LOVE good ol' fashion country cooking...then this is the spot! It's not fancy, but the food is delicious! I haven't had pig feet in YEARS! The chitterlings were okay, but it was mostly hog jowls mixed in. I went up to try dessert and they put out some fresh chicken so I had to try. Those wings were awesome!!! The service was wonderful. The tea was sweet. And the locals love it!!! A must try if you're passing through. read more

The food was awesome!! A huge selection of home cooked southern food. The steamed cabbage and lima beans were awesome. I grew up in NC and noone ever cooks fried Okra like my mom. The fried Okra here was the closest I have ever had to moms version with thin sliced pieces lightly breaded and fried, nothing like you get with the overbreaded versions in most restaurants. The dessert menu with bread pudding, and cobblers was awesome as was the shredded BBQ pork, fried fish, shrimp and stuffing. So many options to chose from and well worth the $$ per person. The server was very welcoming and attentive. There was a wide variety of southern fare for a reasonable price. There were a few concerns to note: the food was not replenished in a timely manner, so it appeared that some of the food was dried out especially the desserts. The food stations could be cleaner. There are food spills all around. The floor is stained and soiled looking. The plastic plates are worn and look like dishes for school children. The iced tea was great. The meats (ribs) were tasty. The fried chicken and the catfish were delicious. Even though, I do not prefer catfish. I didn't like the Mac and cheese. That said, the server provided freshly prepared fish and desserts upon request. With some revitalization this place would be great. BTW -- the old crumpled newspaper on the glass in front door of the building looks scary and like a harborage for critters. Sadly I think Casey's needs a some attention. The food was ok but wasn't as hot as I like- a downside of the buffet- it's been a really pre-Covid way pre-Covid. So it wasn't so much the food. Omgoodness this spot hit the spot! Stopped by for late lunch on a Sunday . I had heard great things about this place and they did not disappoint! The Buffett wasn't huge but it had a pretty good variety of things I haven't seen at other buffets. I tried new things.. some I loved others I may never have again but it was so good I got a few plates! Then there's a dessert buffet booth too!! I have to say whoever does the frying of the chicken in there deserves an award! It was so crispy on outside and tender and juicy inside! And something for every taste ! Ham, turkey, beef, chicken fried, baked and jerk, and like 8-10 side dishes and the hush puppies were awesome too. From minute we walked in to time we paid and left the staff was friendly and very attentive. The gentleman that waited on us today was such a sweetheart! We will definitely be back. I don't get the rave reviews. The food was mediocre at best. Nothing stood out. I feel for Wilmington if this is the best buffet in town.

I'm assuming Casey's has seen better days. We came due to the high reviews and the fact that they showed up on a lot as one of the best buffets in the state. They get the full 5/5 for having a really friendly attentive staff, so I'm rounding up to 3, when I feel like the food itself was closer to 2.5. The quality of the buffet was...not great. We tried a little bit of everything and the only worthwhile bites were the fried chicken & desserts. Everything else was just so-so and to be honest if I'm paying ~17/per person I would rather spend that money somewhere else on less food. read more

I was at Casey's today 4 Oct 2024 at about 3 pm for lunch. Do they throw out all food on the buffet at the end of the day, wash all the serving trays and replace old food with freshly prepared food every day? I don't think so. I think the food sits out all the time and if anything, new food is dumped on top of old food. Anyway, half way through my lunch I went to the bathroom and all the food i ate came up. I hate to say it but we were disappointed. The stars got us. The buffet was... let's say disarray. Some of the food looked like it had heat burn and the dessert island was not appealing. The fried chicken was ok, fried fish is salty, rice was hard, and brisket was cold. There was a lot of ppl so I would think food would be replaced/refreshed but it wasn't. We were told they were short staffed and apologized so that may be why our experience was the way it was. read more

If you want a buffet for the same price but at least a little cleaner with the same cold nasty tasting food go to a golden coral. The rating is a 92.0 and once you walk in you'll understand why but be confused on why it's not lower. Food was cold, the guy placing the trays onto the buffet line isn't even wearing gloves as he's swapping the pans at all. Got an attitude with one customer who complained about the food being cold. Mashed potatoes were like mortar, chicken and dumplings had a sour taste the tea had clumpy black things at the bottom. The dinning rooms are filthy the buffet area is gross the floors are disgusting. If you want to save yourself a trip to an urgent care for some type of food poisoning and save a few bucks do not go here! read more

I've been here a few times but recently visited with my family, the food was good/ok. However the vegetables are cooked with too much grease/oil for my liking. When I eat their greens I get indigestion so I steer clear. The buffet is full of fried and greasy options. I had to carefully make my plate so that I wouldn't get sick from eating unhealthy foods. This time I only had baked chicken breast, one small scoop Mac n cheese ( which wasn't that good) Lima beans, dressing with gravy. The food was good/ok. My issue is with the cleanliness of the restaurant. It is borderline filthy and needs repair. The chairs we sat on were badly stained and there was crud in the joints of the chairs - very disgusting. I wish the food was prepared with a little more integrity. Soul food doesn't have to be greasy fried foods. It can be done right with healthy ingredients and clean flavors. read more

Stopped in for the first time and I was blown away. It was fantastic, the waitress was so nice and attentive. I felt so sorry for her when the table next to me kept asking here for special requests and had her bring 4 or 5 plates to their table and then they STIFFED her. Waiters and waitresses make $2.13 an hour and that basically covers their taxes. They make their living off of tips. If you can't afford to tip, stay home or just order takeout. Anyway, I left her $20 on a $13 tab and was happy to do it. The food was good old fashioned Southern Comfort food and I tried a little bit of almost everything. People complain about the carpet being old and stupid stuff like that. If you want good food at a good price, this is the place for you. If you're uppity and a nit picker go somewhere else. We decided to try Casey's because we had some coupons, why not? This place is obviously popular for a reason I do not understand. We arrived at 12 pm on a Saturday, 1 hour after opening and the place was decently busy. The staff were so friendly and seemed to love their jobs, I wish it showed more in restaurant. I was shocked when I pulled up to the restaurant and how dirty and unkept the outside was, dirty news papers on the windows and just not appealing. I was hoping the inside would be better but that was not the case. The carpets were discolored and peeling back causing a ton of tripping hazards, there was crumbs everywhere, on tables chairs, the floor around the food. It was way more messy than just an hour of customers worth, seemed like the food was on the floor for weeks. If it were my decision I would have left. The BBQ was really good according to my boyfriend but everything else was okay. Everything on my plate was okay, nothing about the food would make me want to go again. I do not recommend this business as it was this weekend. It needs a major upgrade and a cleaning. read more
