It was my first time trying The Smoked Taco. The vibe was casual and laid-back. I tried the Surf & Turf, the BLT taco, and the churro fries. The Surf & Turf sounded promising, but it didn't quite live up to expectations. The steak and shrimp were fine, but nothing particularly stood out, and there were fewer pieces of shrimp than I thought there'd be. Again, it wasn't bad, just not as memorable as I hoped it would be. The BLT taco also fell a bit flat. It wasn't terrible, but it felt kind of basic and underwhelming compared to what you might expect from a specialty taco shop. For the price, I wouldn't order it again. The churro fries, though, were good -- crisp, warm, and coated in cinnamon sugar. The whipped cream that came with it was delicious as well (I'm not usually a fan of whipped cream). The portion was really big; definitely enough for four people to share. Overall, the experience had some hits and misses. The service was good. I didn't have to wait long before I got my food. I've always been a big fan of the Smoked Taco. This location is just always a miss. First off, the water/ice always tastes like chemicals. It's like there is something wrong with the machine and it's been that way since they opened. I always want to have a good experience but it just disappoints. The Bang Bang is decreasing its shrimp every time I get it. It's also always cold. I don't get it. I feel like their tacos just aren't as good as they used to be. Hey! Giving a 3 star because I was 2 frustrated to really try and enjoy my food once I got it. It took over 30 minutes to get my food. It didn't feel like there was a ton of motivation to get food out and I had to ask a couple of times where I was at in line. There were multiple people next to me waiting as well and you could totally feel the frustration as multiple people had to keep asking for an update. There is a lot of competition in the area for food options, so I don't know if I will try it again..... don't use my review on the food itself, just know that you may be waiting an extended amount of time for your food. If you go in with that understanding, you may not get as frustrated as I was and you can try and enjoy your meal. I ate my food as quickly as possible as I had to get back to work. read more

The cashier was very nice and when I asked if I had time to walk over to sipn she let me know there was an order ahead of me and I should have plenty of time. I'm not a big taco person but these were delicious! The barbacoa had too many onions for me but like an adult I scooped them off and ate it. The tacos were full of flavor. All the colors inside were bright! I wish they had a second menu hanging up behind the counter or somewhere when you're ordering. Finally tried this place out because I heard good things about it. Very disappointed. Both of the dishes we ordered were luke warm. I got the mass fries which were very very dry. The flavor was good when you got a bite of everything, but the plate was so big and the toppings only covered the middle, so all the extra fries were just dry and didn't taste like anything. So I would never order that again. The other dish was a taco which was good but didn't impress my husband much because of the temperature. I wonder if they forgot to ring our buzzer, the food sat out and this is an off thing. Not sure. Very possible but from the experience I probably won't be going back. read more

Visited this taco spot on Saturday afternoon, and came back again today. The first time, I was impressed by how flavorful the tacos were, especially the beef one, which was juicy and well seasoned. The green salsa had just the right amount of heat. Today's visit was just as good. I tried the pork taco this time , and it didn't disappoint. The meat was tender, and the topping were fresh. I'm sorry, this is not great food. I got a taco that had French fried onions on it and there was probably a full 6 oz of them crammed into that taco. Just some meat, millions of those crispy onions and a few jalapenos. They also put a ton in the elote. Overkill with the fried onions. The corn tortillas were kind of soggy. The meats were good. But over all there was just too much going on with too many competing flavors in the tacos. Also the restaurant was NOT clean. The soda machine was disgusting and there was dust on the shelf where the hot sauces are. We had to ask to have a table cleaned off, the floors were dirty and it wasn't that busy. The tacos are uniquely flavored, well presented in individual cartons to catch all the juicy goodness and fillings that fall from their well stuffed "quesadilla" corn tortilla taco shells. I noticed how quickly the queue moved and again how quickly the food came out. I ordered the El Pastor, Chips and guacamole and the Churro Fries. The El Pastor taco was amazing ! Minus the white onions ... I'm not a fan of raw onions. Nonetheless, the meat was seasoned to perfection and very tender. Again, the Guacamole had too many onions.....but the consistency and flavor was spot on! The Churro Fries were a delightful surprise.....taste, consistency and eye appeal garnered a 10 in my book. The portions were very generous and especially with the price point. The dining area was spacious and able to accommodate large and small groups.
