    Carnitas Street Tacos
    Emma C.

I heard about this place from an TikTok food account and decided I'd try it out when I was in the area. Luckily enough, at 2pm when I checked their hours I was able to make it before they closed for the day which is at 3pm. The building was clean, well lit and organized. I was met with a smile and was quickly able to order and receive my to go order. There were bottle drinks, a soda fountain and premade little cups of red and green salsa-which were all pretty standard. My tacos were so fresh that it was almost too hot to pick them up. The carnitas was crispy (wished it was a bit more seasoned), the onions/cilantro plentiful, the limes were juicy and my tortillas didn't rip when trying to eat. Note to self: I wished I had grabbed two salsa cups instead of one! I should have known better. It was really good, I wish that I tried the burrito but I didn't want this late lunch to turn into my dinner meal. It's too bad that I live almost 30 mins away because I'd go more often.

Looking for authentic Mexican food near you? You have found it! This is Taco Burrito in Lindon Utah! They are a food truck turned restaurant and are definitely now on my list of one of the best Mexican food in Utah! They are really killing the game when it comes to authenticity! Definitely some really good food in Orem Utah! We got some really amazing dishes but you have to try the Meat Lovers Torta! It is a Mexican take on a sub sandwich - and is now my new favorite sandwich! They have some other really great dishes like Huaraches, Burritos, Tacos & Quesadillas. You really can't go wrong with any option! Best Mexican Fast Food Meals range from $4-$12 Hidden Gem in Utah

    Shredded pork verde smothered burrito

The employees who work at the food truck are friendly. I asked for recommendations and the employee recommended a verde smothered burrito or a sandwich they had on the menu. Since I had several orders, I appreciated the employee noticing this and put everything in a bag for me. I ordered a shredded pork verde smothered burrito. Wow, the burrito was huge! My burrito was $9 and I could barely eat half, so had leftovers the next day, so it's wasn't too expensive, I thought since I had leftovers the next day. I did scrape the sauce off the burrito and added hot sauce on top of the burrito. The Verde sauce was a little more on the salty side, So I definitely had to make sure I drank enough water while I ate it. Where the sauce was more salty than I would have liked, it made it a little more difficult to eat. There was quite a bit of meat, rice, and beans inside the burrito served with the lettuce and pico on the side. I added some Taco Burritos hot sauce on top of the burrito and it was definitely a hot hot sauce. Hot sauces usually are not hot enough for me and this one was just right. My husband ordered Al Pastor street tacos and raved about them. I did not have a bite but he seemed to really enjoy them and wanted more tacos.

The space is so cute. Clean, simple, pretty, and there is an upstairs private area that is such a vibe. Now the food. Wow. Queso fundido was insane. The jalapeños had the perfect kick and the homemade tortillas are hands down the best tortillas. I would go back just for those. Empanadas and tinga tostados were packed with flavor but listen to me... GET THE LAMB. It was unreal. And then dessert. The hibiscus poached pear with whipped cream. Light, unique, not too sweet, just perfect. Everything was beautifully plated. Every single thing felt intentional. 10 out of 10. Cannot wait to go back next time I am in Utah.

This is not an inexpensive restaurant. My favourite go to meal is anything Mexican. The chicken taco had no flavour at all. No spices nothing. One taco was dripping grease the other had no grease. The pork taco had a flavor. Good combination of ingredients that made it interesting The beef taco was gamey and tough. We kept chewing the beef, but the toughness won and we gave up. Pretty disappointed in the meal especially in relation to the price point of the meal.

Our service was great, we were seated immediately and our server was kind. She had her hands full being the only one on shift at the end of the night but did it gracefully. We loved the chips and salsa and liked our meals. Mine was huge! I was barely able to make a dent and had to take it home. The fry was good on the pepper and it was stuffed with cheese and meat. I got the onion ball which wasn't much to call home about, neither was the spicy rice. I wish I tried the beans instead. My husband was pleased with his dish and was able to finish it. We also shared the strawberry and regular horchata and they were delicious! We will definitely be back to try more dishes!

My last review could all be wrapped up when I asked for a Mexican hot sauce and they brought Tabasco. Everything was wrong. While the food is still geared to the local palate. It's lots of overly sweet food. Still, I found things that were pretty good. In the end, I can see why it's popular. It' doesn't really bring me to Mexico City or similar. I would not exclude coming back. They no longer have beer. That's important when dining out for me, but doesn't seem to hurt things here.

The atmosphere and menu feel true to the culture, and it's refreshing to find a place that doesn't overly Americanize the cuisine. Many of the dishes capture that homemade, authentic quality that fans of traditional Mexican food will appreciate. That said, the experience wasn't perfect. The wait time was quite long, even when the restaurant didn't appear extremely busy, which made the visit feel a bit drawn out. Additionally, while the food was flavorful and authentic, some of the dishes came out a bit on the dry side. Another consideration is the price. While the quality and authenticity are good, the prices are noticeably high compared to other Mexican restaurants offering similar dishes. Overall, Maria Bonita is a solid choice if you're looking for authentic Mexican cuisine and don't mind paying a premium. With a few improvements to service speed and food moisture/texture, it could easily be a five-star experience.

The service was fast and attentive, the food came out quick, and then portions were large. I typically get combination plates when I go to Mexican food places so I can try a couple different things and I LOVED the beef tamale that was in my combination. The restaurant is smaller so it did get quite loud, but that's to be expected. The chips and salsa were yummy and we left with quite a bit of leftovers. I would go again and make sure to reserve ahead a time or do take out :)
