Stopped in for lunch in between volleyball matches at the convention center (right across the street). They opened at 11 and we arrived just as they open the doors. Lots of tables filled up quickly and there were about 30 people ordering or standing in line for a drink. They only had two staff members, but they held her cool and did a great job getting to everyone. It reminded us of a stress test with John Taffer and Bar Rescue! :) But the good news is - they passed! lol We ordered the wings and cheese curds. Wings were small, but sooooo good! Id definitely order again. Cheese curds were ok - wasn't crazy about the dipping sauce. We came here for a day party after running the Detroit Free Press International Half Marathon and oh boy it was not ready for the crowd. Although it was a private event, the bar and food staff were definitely overwhelmed with the crowd. It took almost an hour to get 1 drink, so I just ordered for everyone standing around me. As for food, I was starving and stood in line for 45 minutes only to find out I was in the wrong line.‍. Needless to say, my review may not be fair since I wasn't able to order nor eat anything. Very nice place for a drink and a casual bite. Don't skip the dessert as the orange phyllo cake was delicious. Had a great time and the place is has a cool relaxed ambiance. The crew is great. The only reason I feel bad leaving this one star review is because the staff is awesome and the owner is super lucky to have them. This review is specifically for the owner who should not be in hospitality. We arrived with a big group and they were extremely aware that this group was coming in because we had reservations as soon as we sat down. Apparently that's the minute the chef decided to quit or walk out. Leaving a party of 36 with one chef and there was other diners there. We didn't know this when we first sat down so half of the group ordered and paid because you do it with an app and the other half kept having issues when they were trying to pay When we inquired, they said they shut down the payment system because they're not taking any more orders because the chef walked out which left half of a group with Food and the other half without it so as soon as we figured this out prior to the food arriving, we asked for a refund of everyone that did pay so we could go to a new restaurant The owner who was unresponsive and the manager was unable to reach, decided that he didn't want to refund the group that had paid and he said he didn't care. Well, our food for the ones that paid eventually arrived. It was gross. Chicken was dry. The salad was bland. The apps were basic that man should've refunded our money and I would've never left this review for how terrible the food was. Whoever you are Mr. Owner, you really need some more education on customer service and customer satisfaction. The employees there are top-notch and any restaurant would be lucky to have them. Ok place open since Late last year. Great for big groups, reminds me of a beer hall of Germany. The not so good, the service was below standards, bar tender was only server on a light Tuesday early evening visit. His attention was not devoted to guests, he was doing what my wife calls puttering behind the bar. The bbq sandwich was not all that great, tasted like something I could get at as warm and go meal. A great space. It's open and bright, and there's games. They have breakfast and coffee. There's also a lunch menu I believe. We didn't try any food. There are plenty of choices of beers on tap and a full bar. The beer is self serve and you scan your wrist band. It seemed as if the beers were over pressurized. We were a large group and all experienced the overly foamy beer, which feels wasteful since you pay per ounce. Everyone's beer was extremely foamy, even when poured on an angle. I also wish they had different glass options instead of just the pint glasses. A few kinks to work out, but will try it again. read more

We arrived at 4pm after the marathon and half marathon. We're glad we went at 4 and not 5 as the place got packed after we arrived. There was a group there and the owner said they were expecting 20-25 not over 200. They had a du which was nice but was hard to hear any conversations. We ordered two drinks. We also were going to order the curds but were sold out and then ordered Brussels. We found out they were sold out after we paid and sat down. We were going to order the pork but it was sold out, so two burgers were ordered. Those were pretty good and had the halal taste which was perfectly fine since that is the description on the menu. It wasn't overpowering and the fries were good too. The food came out quickly. They were understaffed but that was a huge surprise for them. Do not book your company events here since they will charge you an administration fee without telling you, in addition to gratuity. I walk in, ambiance is good, liked the music, it's cute. I got in line & for whatever reason they said food is down, so no food. Ok cool, I wanted coffee. Coffee is closed. Ok I'll get a drink. Wait in line, then 5 seats open at the bar right when I get to the front of the line, so I sit at the bar. Bar tender says be with you in a second. he then proceeded for no joke 15 minutes taking everyone else that was in line after me and just completely ignoring me. and then said, excuse me, can I get a drink? Considering all these people come in after me. He proceeds to help two more people that are standing in the line and then asked me what I want cashes me out, and still doesn't give me my drink. He proceeds to help two more people at the cash register. then he makes my drink. I get it and it taste like cough syrup. No alcohol, all mixers, and they all tasted extremely fake and disgusting. We had the absolute best experience here last month. We attended an event downtown and I brought in several of my top company executives for some late-night snacks and drinks. Not only was the atmosphere amazing, but the service was INCREDIBLE! They kept bringing things to try - it felt like we were at someone's home and they wanted us to feel loved. We were downtown for the boat show and wanted to get dinner. We noticed The Social Brews just across the street from Huntington Place. We thought we'd check it out. It's kind of a neat place. Large tables, high tops and low picnic type tables with bench seating. Perfect for larger groups. They have around 45 beer and wines on tap. The deposit for the electronic wrist band is $25 and you get 32 ounces of beer that you self-pour from the tappers. Once you reach your 32 ounce limit the wrist band shuts off and then you can reload more to it if you'd like. It was a great way to try different beers for as little or as many ounces that you wanted. They're open for breakfast and serve breakfast sandwiches, pastries and coffee. The dinner options were apps, salads, sandwiches, burgers, fish & chips and even pasta options. We tried the pulled pork and chicken sandwiches. Both were delicious and came with fried potato slices sprinkled with Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese. They were yummy! A different way to serve French fries. There were no table servers. You purchase your food at the counter and runners bring it to your table. You also get your own drinks. We had an issue with one of the tappers and the manager was very helpful and apologetic. It was a fun experience but slightly overpriced. We paid $43 for 92 ounces of beer and $44 for three sandwiches. Each tap of beer is priced differently. It was a cool place. I might try it again but would pay closer attention to how many ounces I pour each time to avoid a large bill at the end of the night. read more

Great service, the food is pretty alright. The avocado is off, does not taste like an avocado. Tomato's were bad in my salad, and most of the lettuce. A friend of mine and I stopped by for just a few drinks around midnight ordered 1 round and as we were going to order a 2nd round the bartender tells us in a very rude nasty tone that if we don't tip her she's not giving out 2nd rounds then she went on this tangent about how she is the general manager and she can do what she wants. So we agreed to tip and waited an hour for a 2nd round she served everybody else except us I inquired about the 2nd round she replied "I'd rather not serve you we can try this again next time" we left after that. Rude and unprofessional to force customer's to tip you for a service we paid for. Tipping should be optional not obligatory. This place is a must go-to if you're visiting or live in Detroit. I myself was visiting and had to check out this concept. Tried both the different beers and cocktails. Great to have a wide variety of beers without having to commit to one since you can pour as much as you want. As for the cocktails, really interesting selection and the 2 I had were top tier especially their featured old fashioned. Absolutely stunning place. A couple of helpful and nice workers, but too many that didn't care enough. Food came out very slow despite a place that was virtually empty on a Saturday night. It was also cold and subpar. When I asked for dessert, it was said that I could have cold dessert and that the oven was broken. I said that was fine and was once again underwhelmed with the actual food itself. This place has so much potential and they could be making a killing being across from the convention center. This place is top notch!!!! Last night a group of friends and myself went there around 9pm. They were due to close in a hour. They seated all 10 of us with no issues. The server was out of this world. Yessenia Fuentes was the best she didn't have an attitude that we were there close to closing. She greeted everyone and took our orders. She didn't rush us to eat. She made each one of us feel like we were a VIP client. I can't express how satisfied I was with her service. The food was excellent shout out to the cooks and everyone in the establishment. I encourage everyone that's looking for a great experience to stop in and enjoy the food and the staff!!! 10/10 I will be returning!!! read more
