If you are a fan of novelty socks or needing to find a perfect gift pair of socks this is the place! My wife and I have wondered by and admired the socks they have in the window plenty of times but finally swung in today. I am more of a plain sock person but still enjoyed browsing the huge variety they had here. My wife on the other hand has found a new favorite store I believe and I think we will be coming here more often. We both kept pointing out designs we liked to each other and it honestly felt every step we took was another handful of designs that made us smile or laugh. Think dogs, flowers, avocados, goats, tacos, coffee, Obama, blueberries. You could think of so many different things and they likely have a pair of socks with that on them here. Prices seemed reasonable for novelty socks. Both the workers were extremely friendly greeting us and offering us any help if needed. every time i'm in portland i come to this store. If you like socks the way i do there isn't anything like it. the stocking socks with the designs are what i go for and no one has the kind of inventory as they do. And the women who own the shop they are super friendly and helpful. I wear these stockings all the time and they actually make other people happy. As I get older I find myself becoming obsessed with socks. But not just any socks, I want socks with flair. I am a sucker for novelty socks, I love them. When I was walking the streets of Portland and saw that there is a shop that has nothing but socks I was elated. I mean why wouldn't I be. The whole shop was lined with socks. I went in and wanted to buy just about every pair of socks I saw. Not the best thing to do I might tell you, but it is so very tempting. If I would have browsed all the socks they had in here, I would have been here for quite a while. So I did a quick scan of several areas for men's socks and zeroed in on one pair that I thought was appropriate for my visit. The socks state, "All that wander are not lost." With a mountain setting behind it. I thought since I had just been in three different states, many towns and cities, that I should buy these. A nice little memento for this trip I had taken. I loved the ladies that were working in here on the day I visited. They were so pleasant to talk to. We were joking about how much a person wants clothing as a gift when they get older and how when we all were younger that we always felt disappointed because a gift was clothing. There is quite a variety of socks in this store. It's very surprising that this shop has an abundance of socks with Sleepy Joe, Elizabeth Warren, Harris and other Democratic figures on the socks. NO Donald Trump socks??? That is outrageous. Very disappointed!!!! read more

I was standing in the TSA security line at the Portland Jetport. The girl in front of me removed her shoes, put them in a bin, and I was instantly in love with her socks which were decorated with smiling pugs wearing Santa hats. So I said, "Your socks are amazing!" Her: "Yeah? I think they're cool, too! I got them while visiting friends in Portland." While my significant other loathes funny, interesting, or different socks, I don't. I love them. I always have - I blame this on Punky Brewster who inspired me to always wear two different socks. I think they're positively brilliant, a talking piece, and a great way to creatively show off your likes and personality (like a tattoo, but without the permanency) secretly or not so secretly - isn't there something so empowering about working at a traditional office, and underneath that three piece suit you'r rocking a pair of avocado socks? How can you say anything bad about a store that only sells socks. It is a super cool shop that only sells socks. Half the store is men's and half women's. It is a relatively small store but they have so many different patterns of socks, too many to mention. I love it. The people are super nice. The prices are good, like around $10 a pair. The socks are mostly dress socks, not athletic or ankle socks. Great place for gifts. How can you go wrong. read more

I only wear designer socks with pictures on them and I actually collect certain types of pictures. (I also never wear matching socks. At work sometimes its a joke.) I buy all my socks here for myself, friends, bandmates, relationships, every holiday is a reason to buy socks. Essentially, socks are cool and I'm diehard obsessive about them (I think of late President G.H.W. Bush who was famous for his socks). Yes, they are pricey more than a bag of socks at Kmart, but I'm wearing something that makes me happy and is cool. While never matching means if one gets a hole I still have one left. This is place is awesome, not just because they have cool socks, but ... The ladies who work here are always friendly. One day it was raining really bad and we just talked a bit while I waited for it to lighten up. But, then, when they ask me what I'm looking for an I raise my pant leg to show I'm wearing their socks ... the conversations always start. They change their stock. I really only regret not having more money to shop here more often. Once I told them that I always buy socks of U.S. Presidents and joked that I'd even buy Nixon socks. I had everything else on their racks. They said they didn't Nixon, that but could get some Obama ones. I said, sure and I'd be back. They did and I bought them. Who doesn't love fun socks? I like buying them as a small gift when I want to give someone a little treat. The Sock Shack has lots of great warm cozy socks, but I go there for the novelty socks. My friend is a librarian who loves cats, and I found socks with cats reading books. She loved them! I got avocado socks for my sis and her hubby, alien socks for my Ancient Aliens obsessed friend, sheep socks for my mom who knits, and yellow-eyed tuxedo cat socks for my roommate, who has a tuxedo cat with yellow eyes.
