Update 5-23-2020. We went here around 4Pm . This is our 3rd time coming here. They opened back up dining room and can sit outside too because of coronavirus. Food was excellent!! Got fried chicken, beef gravy both was good. I also got fried okra, macaroni. I got peach cobbler and homemade for dessert. Great food for great price. Nice staff. This is a wonderful place to eat. Nothing here in from a can. Everything is made and cooked on site. Fresh milk is in pint jars and ice cold. Vegetables are all from farm to table. No preservatives in anything served. I had fried chicken, red potatoes, mac-n-cheese, cole slaw, white beans, cornbread, pineapple casserole, wheat bread and fried catfish. Desserts are made there too. I had fudge pie with homemade vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. Everything was absolutely delicious. The butter is churned there as well. Picnic tables are on the front porch and a swing hangs from the ceiling. There is a vintage cash register used when you make payment for your meals. There is also a store with jelly, jams and other items made there. I bought a tee-shirt. I highly recommend visiting here. Bring your appetite. Everything is buffet style. The owner is friendly. Check hours of operation before you show up. Good parking. Clean restrooms. If possible I would give more than 5 Stars. I am not a local. I am visiting my daughter and grandchildren in Florence. My daughter found this wonderful place because someone from her job recommended it. I will definitely return. read more

Totally worth the drive off the beaten path. We thought our GPS was taking us no where but all of sudden there it was. Bring your appetite. Everything was made from scratch and it's wonderful. If you are used to and enjoy super over processed foods then you may not enjoy it as much as we did. This place is so country adorable. Even a Yankee like me loved it. Not only was the food and decor great but the owner was there and he was so friendly! Bottom line, go to this place and eat your heart out. There was much more to eat than I took photos of too. For a REAL HOMEMADE BUFFET I would have paid more. read more

What a wonderful place to eat! A great concept executed perfectly. Food prepared the way it was before it was pre-prepared! Everything is delicious without being over seasoned or gimmicky. Some local sourced veggies with no canned stuff period. Meatloaf was excellent, but the chicken and dressing was amazing. Catfish was not overbreaded nor over fried-just right. I'm told you should leave room for desert but that will require some will power. It's all self serve (no table service) so it's like going to a family reunion at your great aunts house. Good reviews, we'll give it a try, and did so last night, glad we did. So this is how it works...walk in the front door, find a table, grab a plate and then try to figure out where you will put it all. Everything was fantastic. This place is amazing. If you want real southern country cooking this is the place. You will not eat better fried chicken. The vegetables are fresh and cooked to perfection. There is a large selection of country cooking and straight from the field to the table. The homemade deserts and homemade ice cream are delicious. The owner is friendly and it's an old time country atmosphere. There only open on Friday, Saturday evening and Sunday lunch and get there early. We make the two hour drive frequently and it's worth it. read more

Every time I visit family here in Alabama, I insist on going to The Southern Farm Table. Kevin and the rest of the staff are so friendly and excited to make the most incredible food. What a lovely surprise the Southern Farm Table restaurant is. From the moment you walk in the door, you're greeted with the feel of coming to your grandmother's house for Sunday lunch (you know, the ideal southern grandmother, not that other kind). The eclectic southern touches throughout the restaurant - from the screen doors, to the buffets, to the drinking glasses, to the chairs - are just as charming as can be. You must stop by here. Without a doubt this place is worth going out of your way. Oh, and the food! This, of course is the way the mamas of the 1940's cooked, all made from scratch, no artificial or canned anything. Went to this place a few weeks ago and I LOVED it! It's a nice little quaint restaurant off in the middle of somewhere. Unfortunately they aren't open too many days of the week. Fantastic "Home Cooking" buffet style restaurant. Vegetables vary from day to day. (fried okra, green beans, mashed potatoes, etc.) One meat varies, but there is always fried catfish filets and chicken.(both are cooked just right, never greasy.) All food is made fresh and is delicious if you love southern comfort food. The desserts are absolutely perfect! Moved to Florence, Alabama about 10 days ago from Texas. Had heard about this place and was anxious to try it. Incredible. Best fried bird I've had in a while. Eat here for the first time Saturday. The food was good, not great. Atmosphere is kind of 'shacky' and run down looking. I would imagine that is the goal of the owner. Our first trip to get catfish, it was cold so we waited until they brought another tray out. The soft drink machine is ancient and they were just plain flat, like the CO2 wasn't getting in. It's possible the night we were there was an off night but I see enough potential to return and try it again. read more
