Terrible, sat there for 20 min and no one came to the table.. and it was almost empty. Never coming back

We had supper on Friday 11/21. Have not eaten at a Longhorn in several years. The food was good, the service was excellent (sorry can't remember server's name but we talked about Thanksgiving and I think he said Braden or Caleb maybe), the atmosphere was great, and the restaurant was the cleanest restaurant we have ever eaten in. The one star is really only because Yelp doesn't allow zero. Now hear me out - this entire review is solely about the customer service experience...and lack of all positive leadership. Why? Because we never got to the part where you eat the food at the restaurant. First, it was a Saturday night so a wait was expected and the hostess (who I think was actually the manager) told us - a party of 2 - along with everyone else who walked in the door after us, that the wait time was 30-35 minutes. No prob. We settled in, scrolled our phones, chatted and waited. Now, mind you it was obvious they have a staffing issue because I excused myself to the restroom before we got seated and only 2/3 of the restaurant seating was even being utilized. As a business owner, that's leadership failure #1. But #2 came soon thereafter as once we had waited 45 minutes we inquired only to be told we still had many parties ahead of us. I guess they were all waiting in their cars since the restaurant utilizes text messages to notify you that your table is ready, because the waiting room was sparse. Leadership failure #2 - communication. Once we'd inquired a second time after an hour of waiting, we're we then told the next available table was ours. There's no planet where they didn't know their wait times were an hour+ and were only telling people 30 minutes so they didn't just leave and ruin their Saturday night sales numbers - a number that directly affects the manager's performance, the same manager who was hosting the waitlist. Hmmm. So it was a failure in communication or purposeful misinformation to hit quota, assuming people who wait 40 minutes will wait another 20. To add insult to injury, once we got seated, our server - who was the only one stepping up to tell the truth - informed us that the kitchen was extremely behind and that unless we ordered something from the cold salad menu, it would likely be ANOTHER hour and a half wait for food service. Which leads to leadership failure #3 - kitchen staffing. There's NO WAY a kitchen cook time would be at 1.5 hours to table unless there were VERY high shortages of kitchen staff. I wouldn't be surprised if there was only 1 cook back there for a whole Saturday night service. And that's, again, poor leadership. And at the end you've created a disgruntled customer, swearing they'll never return, an overworked cook, who is likely looking for his next gig - like, tomorrow. And a server who just missed out on a $40-$50 tip because she was honest about the service time to not disappoint her table with false notions of expected service. It was a disaster all the way around and CLEARLY not the first time this has occurred. My last saving grace to the others in my situation was to enlighten the rest of the waiting room that once they got seated the kitchen times are still running 1.5 hours. The room cleared with me. Maybe an hour of no new customers would set them back on track. But, for me, until they have publicly acknowledged new management - maybe someone who has ACTUALLY managed a small chain service restaurant - my family and business team members will not be wasting our precious & valuable time for a chain-restaurant meal where the competition is vast and the options plentiful. I would suggest you all do the same. Avoid. read more

Food was good. Appetizer arrived quickly. Dinner was served well & correctly cooked. The Restaurant was busy but clean. Ladies bathroom trash can over flowing. Poor toilet paper replacement this time. This should never happen at any ladies room. Otherwise. We do come back to this restaurant because of the excellent food. read more

Host staff seemed confused as to where to sit us. Party of 4. Server did not know the drinks available. After an appetizer and salads the server used my salad bowl, sitting in front of me, to scrape everyone's remaining scraps into and stack all dirty dishes right under my nose. Had been looking forward to a delicious Ribeye since I've been in town and LongHorn delivered! I started off with the stuffed mushrooms. Nice and gooey dripping with cheese. Pretty tasty. From there I ordered the Ribeye medium with a side of broccoli. The ribeye was done perfectly and very flavorful. My server Dan, also working the bar, was delightful and very friendly. Bought and paid for a bowl of lobster chowder soup. I had oral surgery and soup is all I can eat! My heart was set on this. It would be my entire meal. So we made a special trip from Muscle Shoals to Florence to pick this up. Got home the small cup wasn't even halfway full. I called, the lady was nice and said I could come all the way back today and get a new bowl. I have a broke foot and had oral surgery and I told her there wouldn't be a way I could get back over there today. I asked could someone pick it up for me tomorrow while they are in Florence, since I can't drive. Then her attitude changed and said no either you get it today or you don't get it at all. Even though she knew I was in the right and they messed my order up. They are all about giving you less food on pickup hoping you don't complain. They messed up I should have been able to go tomorrow or they should have gave me a gift card for the amount or put it back on my card. Customer service stinks and they obviously don't care about making customers happy or just giving them what they paid for to begin with. If they did it correctly from the start I wouldn't have had to call. They should do the job right and give you what you pay for from the beginning. Just another restaurant trying to be cheap and cheat you out of anything so they can profit. Shame on Longhorn for treating loyal customers as though we don't matter! read more

I have eaten at Longhorn Steakhouse restaurants for the past decade and more. I'm generally pleased. However, today's experience is the third time in a row I've been disappointed with their food. Father's Day 2020, I took my husband in spite of not wanting to go due to COVID-19. I ordered a ribeye, medium, with a little extra seasoning. This was the third time (and last time) that I will. For the last three times, the ribeye has either not been cooked to order, or as with the last two times, they were tough as a sirloin. I think they were sirloins. I eat lots of ribeye steaks at restaurants and at home. They are a very leant, juicy cut of meat. Theirs have been like shoe leather and bone dry. This was a somewhat expensive meal. I don't mind paying for good food. I'm a foodie. But, give me what I pay for. They really need to step up the steak game. They are a steakhouse. They were wearing masks and gloves (not changing out between cleaning tables, though). Wearing the masks was a plus! On a final note, the bathrooms were out of soap and paper towels, so HOW were the workers and guests washing their hands!?! I shudder to think. I did tell them. Let's do better, Longhorn. read more

Although the food & service was great, I can't honestly give 5 stars because the wait to be seated was unbelievable; an hour! We arrived at approximately 5:15pm and weren't seated until 6:15pm. I expected the restaurant to be busy on a Friday evening, but never expected it to take an hour to be seated. After we were seated though, the service was fast and the food was prepared and delivered before we could consume the bread the server brought us. The service was awesome and our drinks (tea, water & diet coke) were kept full. One of the dishes arrived at the table incorrectly prepared, but it was taken back and rectified in just a few minutes. Overall, it was a pleasant meal and we enjoyed sharing it with family, but the wait was what spoiled the experience. read more

First of all, the host was rude and uninviting. The salads took 25 minutes to come to the table and when they arrived it was yellow and not chopped well. My $24 ribeye was %78 fat. Not ribeye fat, I mean poor meat quality fat. I ordered medium rare and it came out medium well. The server took so long to come back that I ended up just taking it home to the dogs. My lobster Mac and cheese was amazing so if it weren't for the bad service and poor quality food I would recommend this restaurant for anyone who loves lobster Mac! read more

Not a single complaint. Everything was perfect. Had the sampler which was yummy. We each had a ribeye that was delicious and cook to perfection. The chocolate stampede was amazingly good. Two notches above the other local chain steakhouses. Mercifully no peanut shells tossed on the floor to slip and slide on. No corporately mandated "impromptu" line dancing by the staff just quality food for a fair price without ridiculous gimmicks. The staff always seems like a revolving door of folks which makes me wonder what the management must be like and as a result the service is the least consistent aspect of the location. Steaks are usually served the temperature below what's ordered which can be frustrating so if you want medium rare, order medium. Definitely not the greatest steak. Filet tasted mushy not tender. They forgot my corn and I was almost done with my meal before the server ever checked on our table for me to mention it. He also brought my kid a chocolate milk refill which was way too much. A kid does not need that much chocolate milk. We had dinner here last night. The food was very good, service was wonderful. Even though I gave it 5 stars, we would not be making this restaurant a weekly or even a monthly eatery. I feel the prices are not competitive with other choices. Or bill total including tax and tip was $60 (for two). We get great food and service at Logans at a fraction of the price of Longhorns.
