We each ordered a BFast bowl and we both thought the same thing: the sausage was oily and the pepper gravy was flavorless. Meh. On this Friday, we arrived at 730am to a 1/3-filled restaurant. We waited about 30 mins for our food, as it was obvious someone in the kitchen arrived late or just didn't come to work. If I could stand outside this place and say turn back now I would. We were so excited to bring our kids here because the name and overall theme of this place screams great for kids and fun! Everything online made me think it would be a neat place for breakfast. While the waitress was very nice, I've never had to wait so long for bacon eggs and waffles. Especially at a place that specializes in this. The house made sausage wasn't really the flavor profile I like and while I'd never fault someone for just having different taste, I will fault them for sending out sausage that's raw in the middle. I've never seen a waffle be able to be messed up but they nailed that. My 4 year old ate one bite and wouldn't eat them. My husband and I both tried them and didn't like them either. They were gritty and had an "off" flavor. I will say, the scrambled eggs were very good and whoever makes their whip cream did great! Needless to say we will never be back. If you're considering coming to this place, save your money, your time, and your stomach the ache. read more

Great food with numerous opportunities folks who are avoiding gluten. The gluten-free waffles, fries, and burger buns are very good. The place was clean and had a fun vibe, and during our short wait we enjoyed reading the displays with a bit of the owner's background and story. Our party mixed breakfast and dinner options and all were excellent. It's worth the wait .... Dropped in on these super (duper) hero chefs and was pleasantly surprised. If you're in that breakfast mood they got that all day. If you're trying to get your lunch in you will do just as well. We ordered the hulk and juggernaut which are naturally good sized waffle chicken sandwiches with a difference in meat that goes on top of the chicken. Powdered sugar on the plate served with the spicy maple sauce prepped you for a flavorful smack down (in a good way of course). Eating on the other hand had two approaches, you can fork and knife it or just pick that beauty up by hand. The savory flavors pop the whole sandwich through. Had to try the sticky ribs and with 4 on the plate it was the perfect amount to compliment the fresh flavorful salads we had which were the the Flash and Superman. Being from Cali these salads beat most anything put together out west and were the perfect balance to the southern flavors and heartiness of our main orders. Whole and half options on the salads give you room to work. They also saved the day when it came to getting those daily veggies in. Last up was a veggie omelet that made you feel great for choosing healthy along with tasting an omelet that was cooked to perfection. Especially that bottom part! Do ask about their lemonades and teas as the flavor schemes are worth exploring and tasted more authentic than artificial. We came here on a Saturday afternoon and we were seated right away. The superhero decor was very cool and interesting. Me and my group ordered various things off the menu and everything was pretty good. My scorpion scriddle was ok it wasnt what I was expecting though. Just brought home a to-go order from mine and my boyfriend's first visit to Superhero Chefs in Tuscumbia. We decided to order a few different items to get a pretty well-rounded idea of the menu. We didn't order any breakfast items this time though. I ordered my boyfriend the Fried Chicken Sandwich and Fries, and he loved it! I gave it a try, also, and I thought all the ingredients worked so well together. I ordered the Iron Man Salad with Marinated Salmon. It was delicious, although I thought the roasted carrots didn't really belong. I needed a little more sweetness, so I drizzled some hot honey on it, and it was exactly what it needed. We also ordered the Meatloaf Cupcakes, which ended up being our favorite item - pick it up and take a big chomp, and it's the perfect bite! Literally, so good! The other couple of items we ordered weren't as much of a hit - the fried corn on the cob (needed a sauce and some sort of seasoning - maybe cajun butter or honey), and the sweet potato mac n' cheese (just mediocre imo). As for the staff, the hostess/cashier took my order, and she was amazing! She was super helpful, kind and made sure I had everything I ordered (and more - napkins, extra silverware, ketchup, etc.). The other person I talked to, maybe a manager, was wonderful, as well. I ordered the meatloaf cupcakes well before 11 AM (when they're actually available on the menu), and the kitchen went ahead and made them for me They hadn't even started prepping them yet so I was prepared to order something else, but they accommodated me anyway. Another great find in a cute little town on our way to the Muscle Shoals Studio. Local brews on tap and friendly servers greet guests. We were eager to try the lauded egg rolls. Super interesting combination that sounds odd but really works. A sweet finish, too. I had the small flash salad topped with grilled smoked shrimp, with the dressing on the side. The shrimp flavor was so nice, I really didn't need any dressing. Other half enjoyed the full and ample Wonder Woman salad. Easy street parking. Worth a visit. read more

After hearing about the owner of this restaurant (Darnell Ferguson) and watching him cook on various Food Network shows, I was very interested in trying this restaurant out. Tournament of Champions recently aired earlier this year and Darnell Ferguson's bio noted that he was the owner at several restaurants. My mother and I decided to come for breakfast. We dined on a Thursday, so we were not anticipating a crowd. The restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Tuscumbia, AL and building is creatively decorated in the "superhero" theme inside and out. From the outside of the building the space looks small, but one can be easily deceived. They have room sectioned off as the bar area, indoor and outdoor seating. They really made great use of the space and provides privacy while dining. Our waitress (Marissa) was very pleasant and attentive. She immediately took out orders and made sure that we had what we needed. Our food was prepared fresh to order and the presentation was exceptional. The pricing of the food is affordable and the portion sizes were what we expected. I ordered the kids meal (French toast, eggs and bacon). My mother ordered the superhero omelette, which came with hash browns and a garden greens. We both enjoyed our meals and were pleased with our experience. My wife and I both ordered the fettucine alfredo which was delicious. I'm glad we didn't order an appetizer because the fettucine alfredo was a large portion and more than enough. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because the service was very slow. Granted, we got there early, around 5:00PM. But we were the only two customers in the whole restaurant when we arrived! We were wondering what the long delay was about and concluded that the cook had not yet arrived for work. How long can it take to prepare fettucine alfredo? Anyway, our server was very polite and attentive. Prices are reasonable. read more

This place was recommended by locals so we thought we would give it a try for breakfast. We started with the waffle bites which were fabulous. Our table ordered the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Waffle, Sub Zero Pancakes, the Juggernaut, the Eggs Benedict and the Sausage and Cheese Omelet. My son who is very picky said it was the best omelet and hash browns he has every had. The waffle tasted exactly as expected and was yummy. The Chicken in the Juggernaut was moist and delicious. The Eggs Benedict, which is served over grits and cheese patties, was unique and super tasty. There was not one dish that was not incredible. Before you read my food review I'd like to say we plan to go back and try completely different things, because what we got wasn't for us. I got the seafood biscuits and gravy. It was covered in gravy. This gravy was SO salty. (And I love salty things, but I couldn't finish my food.) There was waaaay too much of this gravy. I couldn't tell what I was eating. There were pieces of shrimp, salmon, and crawfish. Everything tasted like this overwhelming super salty gravy.... I WILL SAY- I would order this dish again, just with the gravy on the side. My husband ordered the "eggs Benedict". (I put it in quotes because nothing about this is an eggs Benedict. It has a mushy grit cake underneath, sausage patty, over easy eggs, and a mourney sauce. It might have been better with something that added a crunch, like a piece of toast or (this is totally original.) an English muffin?? He said he wouldn't get this again.
