So I treated myself for my birthday to this place! AMAZING Present! STAFF was delightful, almost too polite. Serenity fulfills you the minute you walk in! Post check-in with the very nice front desk staff - you are brought a warm towel, tea, and slippers on a plater- see pictures. Dressing rooms are clean and spacious. The steam room was my favorite place to hangout - eucalyptus steam just cleanse you from inside out. Snacks available: chocolate-covered pretzel, almonds, cashews, dried fruits, cucumber, and Orange flavored water. Heated spacious massage tables - with your choice of aromatherapy scented oil. Will definitely be going back!

5 star experience! This place is incredible. I have been to several spas and this is one of the best in Boston. From the moment you walk into the lobby, you are treated like a VIP. I walked in and was immediately greeted with a warm towel, hot tea, and was offered slippers. Check-in was fast, and the manager (Jason) happened to be walking through the lobby while I was checking in. He took the time to stop and make sure I was being helped, which I thought was very considerate. The spa facilities are gorgeous. They have an incredible crystal steam room, a large hot tub and an amazing relaxation room with mandala coloring pages, magazines, calming music and warm blankets. It was so relaxing I even fell asleep for a bit. Jen was my therapist and she was amazing. As someone who has cancer, I LOVE and APPLAUD the fact that this spa is one of a limited few who have chosen to partner with Wellness for Cancer, which trains the staff in providing treatment to cancer patients and survivors. I have been turned away from services at other spas because believe it or not, many have policies against providing treatments to cancer patients. Good for The Mandarin for refusing to be one of them. Before starting my facial, Jen made sure to go through my health history, ask about preferences, any concerns, and explained all of the ingredients in their products (EXCELLENT products, by the way). I highly recommend requesting Jen! My skin felt hydrated and refreshed afterwards and was glowing for days. This place is awesome and I will definitely be back!!

    Welcome to tranquility.

After my massage I spent the afternoon in the whirlpool, amazing steam room, and in the relaxation room.

They have a small waiting room and the staff is very friendly, you take your shoes off downstairs on the first floor and walk up. Massage: I have had massages galore near and far, but I must praise Christina on her quality and execution. She did a fabulous prenatal massage and was so wonderful working out every kink and knot. Strongly recommend anyone her way pregnancy or non pregnancy. Facial: I will only get facials from here from now on, I will only come here and only request Daz, one of the best estheticians I have ever had and gives the most incredible game changing facial and shoulder massages breaking up all and any tension that is there. She is potentially an angel sent from heaven and so lovely. I didn't even break out after my facial which sometimes tends to happen. Daz went above and beyond. I cannot wait to go back.

While I was already in an Uber on the way to my early morning appointment, the spa called my partner to say their water system had burst and the flotation service could not be done, which meant my appointment would be pushed back by an hour and 15 minutes. Since I wasn't going to wait that long, I turned around and went home. A few minutes later they called again saying they could take me only 15 minutes after my original time, which was confusing considering the earlier issue, and unfortunately it no longer worked with my schedule. I ended up keeping the massage and facial appointment later that day. When I arrived, I had to wait behind another client whose check-out went well into my appointment time. On top of that, I was told my service wasn't scheduled as a prenatal massage, so they needed additional time to change the room. My partner specifically booked a prenatal package over the phone, so this was another unexpected delay. Once I was in the room, my therapist Erica was very kind and welcoming. She explained how the prenatal massage would work, starting face up and then moving to my side later. The massage itself was fine, but the facial was disappointing. It was essentially just a face wash and warm towel. I've had quick 30-minute facials before and they typically include at least some pore extractions or a face mask but that was not the case here. During the massage, I was told I would eventually move to my side due to the prenatal positioning, but that never happened, likely because we ran out of time due to the earlier delays. It would have been helpful if that had been explained. At the end, I was offered water in a cup (tap water I assume) rather than a bottle, which felt a bit unusual for a spa experience. I also had to ask for tea, while it had been automatically offered to my sister who finished her service earlier. Overall, the staff was polite and kind, but the experience felt disorganized from start to finish. For nearly $400 for two services plus tip, it unfortunately did not feel worth the cost.

I was coached to shut out the noise and focus on my breath. To my surprise, I stayed in for over three minutes. The exhilaration afterward was incredible, only surpassed by the sensation when re-entering the sauna as warmth and circulation flooded back in. It's invigorating, deeply calming, and oddly addictive. Release Well-Being Center is a premier destination for contrast therapy. I've not found anything that comes close to this experience. Known as BLISS, their expertly curated sauna and cold plunge experience lives up to its name. The space is stunning, the amenities are immaculate, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and professional. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed and that you are in for an elevated experience. The changing rooms are beautifully appointed (think high-end resort), and your locker is stocked with the most delicious robe, towel, and a pair of sandals. The staff does an exceptional job of keeping every space spotless, from the showers to the changing areas, and the beauty area, which boasts high-end hair products and styling tools, as well as any items you may have forgotten, such as hair ties, brushes, sanitary products, and razors. The heart of the experience lies in the relaxation lounge, a true sanctuary featuring two infrared saunas, a traditional sauna, and two pristine cold plunges (at temperatures of approximately 44° and 54°). The sauna relaxes and detoxifies. It's hot, yes, but deeply calming, evoking memories of back when it was okay to bake in the sun at the beach. The cold plunge is undeniably cold, but not painful; it stings and serves as a bracing wake-up call to both the body and mind. Sink in swiftly, breathe with intention, and time moves faster than you think. The contrast between the two has been transformative for me, with improved circulation, enhanced mental clarity, better cardio performance, a more elevated mood, and faster muscle recovery. And when you think you've hit peak Bliss, there's the eucalyptus steam room, also the best I've ever experienced. Stepping into its warm, fragrant mist after contrast therapy feels like a hug for your entire body. I've also had the pleasure of getting to know Linda Townsend, the founder and president of Release, who leads by example and shares the space with members. Our conversations in the sauna, about health, balance, and life, are part of what keeps me coming back. Release is more than a wellness center. It's a community, and a true gem in the heart of Boston. Try their generous Bliss trial membership. You won't regret it!

The staff is capable and friendly and the facility is clean and welcoming. This spa is exactly what I need in my life. Bring your bathing suit! Take a tour and see what the spa looks like. I bet you'll want to book something. There is an open room that has three types of saunas and two cold plunges. My niece made me do the plunge pools, and one was MUCH colder than the other. So refreshing! We both had facials and my skin glowed for days. The estheticians were great! If I am in Boston again for any reason, I would definitely book a facial and/or massage at Release Well-Being Center again. Bostonians are lucky to have this beautiful spa.
