I came here last week before my dinner date for some pampering and "ME" time. Once in a while I like to treat myself something special since self-care is very important. I actually work out in this area and have seen this spa before. It's close to north end and to the water as well. Adara is actually under new ownership now- and the spa has been renovated and looks fabulous. I believe it was earlier this month that they finally opened again after changing ownership. They have some soothing water sounds coming from the entryway right when you walk in. There's also some yummy Lindt chocolate on the table for when you are craving something sweet. I was offered a drink upon arrival and everyone was really sweet. I got the Adara Signature Facial and it was a very relaxing hour. There is some extraction though...but beauty is pain right? Grace was the one who gave me my facial and my skin got so much softer after I came out from there. She used G.M. Collin products on me and basically personalized which product of that line to use when I told her my skin troubles. Everything smelled really great and I've had a bunch of facials before from everywhere I've traveled to. I usually treat myself to one since it's such a staple of a vacation. I found the experience very peaceful and quiet, no crazy noises from outside- felt like i was in my own world. I saw that they do mani/pedi's and the pedicure station LOOKS so nice!!! They have OPI and essie products from what I saw. There's also a fun swinging chair you can sit on if you happen to arrive early. I would definitely recommend since if you compare the pricing to other spas, this one is much friendlier to your wallet and experience is comparable. read more

So I suppose it's OK if I am the first person to review Adara Spa and I'm a guy. Right? I'm secure enough in my masculinity!!! But seriously. This place just opened and we heard about it through a friend. So I signed my wife up for an Adara Head-to-Toe package and was 'talked into' a Gentleman's Mani-Pedi. We had so much fun. The atmosphere is pretty awesome. It's a mixture of trendy and relaxing... with exposed brick walls, original beamed ceilings, and private pedicure 'booths.' I was really impressed. Not at all the stark and sterile environment I had pictured spas to be. Think sage green and river rocks. And the staff and owners were great! So warm and friendly. The whole experience was so different. I'm not used to getting pampered. I truly recommend it. Not to mention no longer being embarrassed of ugly man-feet. Apparently they have some pretty cool treatments as well. My wife was telling me about these slimming systems and facial things... and that this place is the only spa in Boston to offer these treatments. Check out their website. I have been meaning to write this since November, but keep getting distracted. I could write a ton about how much I love this place, but I'll try to keep it brief! I've been to Adara twice now, once in Nov and again in Dec. and both times I've been very happy! The first time I went I got their oxygen acne facial and a manicure. The facial was very relaxing but thorough! My skin has really been suffering since I moved from Texas to the east coast and adult acne has suddenly become and new and horrifying mid twenties nightmare for me. While the facial didn't magically cure my skin issues (obviously!) it felt great and definitely helped clear out a lot of gunk! The manicure was probably the best I've ever had! She is the sweetest and really takes her time. It didn't chip for a week! That is unheard of for me. With regular polish I'm luck for it to last a day or two! The second time I got their adara facial and a pedicure. The facial was less intense than the acne one. Very relaxing, but still cleansing and clearing. Good upkeep to help battle my skin issues and take care of my face in these cold nasty Boston months. The pedicure was also great and in a private little room that really makes you feel pampered! No massage chair, but way more personalized and luxurious feeling than those spas where they file you in line everyone up side by side! All the services have been great and for super reasonable prices! Get on their email list and check their website for package specials. Both times I've gone have gotten 2 hours of services for around $50!!! That is outrageously awesome. People have fussed on yelp about how making appointments can be a pain, but you have to understand that this is a full service spa: wraps, facials, nails, hair, the whole deal and they have a staff of TWO women! They do awesome for two co-owners who make the most of a tiny spa! They are beyond friendly and are super accommodating with scheduling. I am not one to splurge on myself for stuff like spa days or manicures, but this place and these great ladies have kept me coming back and make me want to "treat myself" more often! read more

I got here after making an appointment on Class Pass for 10 AM. The sign on the door said 11Am to 7pm so it looked like the hours were wrong and waited outside in the freezing cold for an hour until they opened. After finally making my way in, i discovered they were open before. I wasted two hours of my time due to misleading signage and clueless staff. They sent me back and asked me to make another appointment even though the spa was completely empty. Needless to say, i wont be making it. Came to Boston on a trip with hubby and he wanted to treat me to a nice pedicure and I am so thrilled I found this adorable little spot. Grace was amazing, we shared lovely conversation and she even shared great local eat suggestions. My pedicure was so relaxing and exactly what my tired feet needed. I really wanted to love this place but I didn't like it as much as I hoped. I purchased a Groupon for a facial and manicure. I've have had several facials before and it just didn't do it for me. The manicure was good and bad. I will go thru what I liked and didn't. (Side note: I am an esthetician and I have many family members with nail salons. I got the Groupon because I had a credit and didn't want to bother my family) Facial Upsides: For the facial, everything applied was nice and warm which is nice. I liked that the bed was heated and the products smelled good. She used a warm wet towel at the end to clean the mask off. Gotta love warm towels. Downsides: She cleansed, steamed/massage at the same time, extracted, applied mask and then moisturized. She did all the steps needed for a facial but what I disliked was that her massage was very light. Her moves were great but there could have been more pressure. Then after she applied the mask, I was left in the room for over 15 minutes... possibly 20 minutes by myself. That's just strange to me. And then the moisturizer applied at the end was extremely oily and my hair was a mess after. Not a nice feeling. My hair felt greasy which is a big pet peeve of mine...later when I got my manicure, I noticed the esthetician had a new client. She came out to the front desk and was on her phone at the time which I would guess she had just applied the mask. I checked the time and she was out there for 15 minutes. Manicure upside: Really nice manicurist. The honey, coconut sugar hand scrub is nice. Downsides: My nails were filed nicely but my nail length did not match on both hands. It was very noticeable. I wish I had said something but I didn't. I feel like it's the basics to make sure the nail lengths on both hands match each other. The cuticle cutting wasn't great either. A lot of it is still left on my fingers. Finally, the nail polish was super old as well. It was thick and clumpy. She added what I believe was acetone rather than thinner. Not a big deal but the polish was clearly super clumpy still and seemed like a pain to apply. The top coat helped it smooth out and the paint job actually came out well. Overall, I didn't have a great experience here and I wouldn't come back if I had the chance. I wish I had taken a picture of my hair and nails but as soon as I got home, I clipped my nails to match and cleaned off the oil. read more

Grace does a wonderful job with every service she provides. She is always prompt, on time, friendly and professional. She goes out of her way to accommodate my difficult schedule. I made an appointment to get a massage here through ClassPass for 3 PM and showed up 15 minutes early as instructed through the confirmation email. When I showed up no one was there to greet me or get me signed in/fill out the paperwork mentioned in the confirmation email. I waited for nearly 30 minutes and at 3:08 the massage therapist finally arrived, and did not apologize for being so late. He did not check me in or give me any paperwork to fill out, just immediately took me into a dark room and started taking objects out of his backpack. I felt incredibly uncomfortable at this point and was also frustrated after waiting so long. I opted to leave due to feeling unsafe and because of the level of unprofessionalism. I would have expected better and more professional policies, especially with a massage since it is such a personal treatment. I would not recommend visiting here. read more

I visited Adara today & it was that good that I'm writing a review immediately. I got the Signature Facial & an Express Manicure. Grace was amazing. When I booked originally, the online booking tool had the facial first & then the manicure. Grace flipped them so that my nails had time to dry during the facial (much appreciated & not something I would have thought of). I don't get manicures often so I can't speak to how comparable Adara is to other places - but I loved mine. She was pretty meticulous for an express service & they look great! I have to say, hands down best facial I've ever had. I started to doze off at one point. My skin feels baby soft, replenished, & rejuvenated. She used a wrap to hold my hair back/cover it during the service so I didn't get any product/oil in my hair (something I was concerned about since I had to return to work, but I didn't have to say a word). Extraction is never exactly pleasant but in my opinion, worth it. The service includes a mask but she didn't leave the room at any point - so I can't agree with some of the other reviews saying that. There was a noticeable difference in my skin when I left. I think what makes Adara stand out is the small differences. When you walk in, you notice its small but its cozy & chic. The environment is very soothing & it just feels more personal than the larger spas I've visited. The 2 pedicure areas can be closed off for privacy (I'll be returning for this service). Other small details, keeping the nail file kit she used, the extra massaging during the facial (not just my face but neck & full length arms), the bottle of water when you leave, etc. Grace also seemed conscious of when I did & didn't want to talk, which for me is huge. We chatted all through the manicure which was awesome but during the facial it was kept to a minimum. All in all, you need to go here. read more

Unprofessional staff who once we arrived told us they had double booked so they couldn't do our appointments. Said they tried to call us but they had called and texted the wrong number. We had called before hand twice and left a voice message confirming our appointments but no one seems to pick up the phone at this place. Lady at front desk was not helpful, and the male masseuse was very rude. It was not a relaxing environment. We ended up cancelling everything free of charge. I purchased a deal for The Arasys/ Sudatonic wrap. This review has two parts: 1) the spa itself and the staff: 5 stars. the place is beautiful and the staff are lovely. But it doesn't really matter because.... 2) The Arasys/ Sudatonic wrap HURTS. Seriously, people, I am embarrassed I bought this. You wont see results in one session. The human body just doesn't work that way. The Arasys hurts like crazy, and it makes you wonder why the hell you are there. You are being electrocuted, in your underwear, by a complete stranger who you have PAID to do this. Seriously, just take a spin class. The Sudatonic wrap sounds luxurious but it is just hot and uncomfortable. Imagine being wrapped in oily plastic and placed in a tanning bed with no fan. for an hour. and you can't move. It's pure misery. Now, I know many of you will say that I am being a wimp. I know pain: I have the tattoos to prove it. If you want to tone up quickly, work out for a few hours, or take a hot yoga class, and sit in the steam room after. You will get better results, save some cash, and not to mention avoid the SWASS from hell. read more

I wish I had read some of these reviews before I bought the Groupon... if they are too small to handle the volume that the discount packages will bring in, then they shouldn't do it. I too had to make an appointment about 3 months out, after calling multiple times. I wound up missing my appointment because I was in 2 hours of traffic during a monsoon. Totally my fault, I really do understand that 'act of god' is the customer's responsibility, but I think they could have been nicer about it instead of 'we have a 24 hour cancellation so we won't honor your coupon any longer'. First of all, this review is based on my experiences with several services offered at the spa, NOT solely on some Groupon/BuyWithMe experience. Ok, let's start. 1) The Arasys/ Sudatonic wrap (4 stars) These are probably the services that set this place apart relative to other area spas. These are weight loss/toning/detoxing treatments. I'm not a doctor or medical professional, but the best I can make of it, the Arasys uses light currents of electricity to stimulate any muscle group you choose. So, giving your abs the workout of 600 crunches while lying on your back, anyone?? The Sudatonic wrap involves taking a nap in a heated blanket while your body sweats out the toxins and who doesn't have post-holiday detox needs? Be warned, you will be drenched in sweat as if you've been doing cardio for hours on end or spent too much time in the sauna! I bought a package consisting of 6 of each of these treatments in April 2010 when they had their annual anniversary sale. The package doesn't expire so you can spread out treatments based on your schedule. But I recommend doing these treatments at least 2 times in a role as a jump start to a new gym regime or detox. Based on this method, I usually experience 2-3 inch loss around my waist (my target area) and 1-2% body fat loss after a couple of treatments. So, great way to shed some extra pounds/inches quickly, but like anything, do not expect to maintain results without additional exercises and healthy eating. Also, prices for the Arasys and Sudatonic treatments can be steep unless you buy a package or use the aforementioned coupons. 2) Facial (3.5 stars) I've had the express facial there. There's nothing much to say because it's a very basic facial... they cleanse, massage, and moisturize your skin. I got this as part of their Express Facial/ Mani/Pedi combo, so I wasn't wowed by this. They offer a variety of extras like masks and enzyme treatments, but I didn't op for those. I give it an extra 1/2 star because I got just about the best complimentary facial/neck/shoulder massage from Lauren, the co-owner, here! Sure it was short- less than five minutes- but so many places forgo this crucial step in their basic facial and that's really a sin! Price: $40 express / $60 regular The regular facial involves heat and extraction, which I'm sure would have made for a better experience. 3) Nails (4.5) The mani/pedi here is top notch! I had mine done with Amelia, the other co-owner, and she is very thorough. Ladies, this is not the in-and-out in 45 minutes lunch hour mani/pedi! You come here if you want to be pampered and you have a couple of hours to spend on primping your hard working hands and feet. What more what I say besides they have different standards than 95% of the nail places I've frequented, and if you value quality over speediness, this is your place. Price: $12 express mani/ $30 express pedi It's a little more ($55) for a regular mani/pedi which involves a massage. But the basic is more than indulgent enough for this girl. NOTE: the Adara head-to-toe and Express head-to-toe are great values. You have the (express) facial, mani, and pedi for $80/ $110 bucks!! And these ladies will pamper you for 3 hours. A gift certificate for one of these packages makes for a great birthday/ bridesmaid/ mother's day present. 4) Customer Service (4.5) This spa is owned by 2 lovely young women- Lauren and Amelia. They own and work at the spa (see my reviews above). I look forward to catching up with these ladies as much as having my spa treatments each time I visit. They're just very sweet and helpful. On multiple times I've had to change my appointment or stay beyond regular hours (which is 8PM) and they've accommodated me with a smile. I deducted 1/2 star because as they own and work at the spa, occasionally they have to leave the treatment room to answer the phone. Not a huge deal, but I thought this is fair. 5) The Groupon/ BuyWithMe I know everyone's entitled to base their reviews on whatever criteria they choose, be it on quality of service, customer service, or whatever. But I want to comment on the 1-star reviews based on some people's inability to book appointments on the dates they want. First of all, the spa is now offering online booking, so everyone can check availability up to 12 months in advance before buying the coupons. Secondly, I think it's a cardinal rule to try to book your appointments as early as possible. Appointments get booked up quickly, especially during summers and right before the coupons expire. So if you're trying to get an appointment for a specific occasion, inquire about availability before you buy and book your appointment as soon as possible. Enjoy! read more

I went in to Adara last week for one of their Spa Week packages. A facial and a pedicure for $50. I wasn't expecting much, as to get both of those services for $50 is crazy...I was quite pleasantly surprised! The two owners were there, one did my pedi and one did my facial. Each treatment was about an hour long-no skimping on service at all! The spa itself was so cute and well designed-they made great use of their space. As a spa, the staff was SUPER friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere peaceful, and overall I think their regular services would probably be very good. Maybe I'd come here for a manicure. Unfortunately, I bought that Arasys/Sudatonic deal, which enough people have defined, so I won't. My thoughts: Arasys: Too short, a little uncomfortable, and kind of pointless. Sudatonic Wrap: Good god, this was the worst hour of my life. I had to call her in to end it 15 minutes early because I couldn't breathe. I understand that these treatments are meant to be KICKOFFS for exercise programs rather than replacing exercise completely, but the suffocation/sweating/heat was so incredibly uncomfortable that I would have rather been running a marathon. read more

I really don't have anything personal against those girls, the owners, except there are skilled people out there that offer real services and deliver their promises as opposite to this business that probably keeps up with their rent selling the ridiculous "slimming" packages for years now... They don't work - bottom line. Anyone should know by now that wrapping alone in a heated blanket or spending some time in a sauna will result in losing few ounces of liquid from your body - that's not fat, only perspiration and too bad if you don't chug that water back right away, because your body needs to replenish that fluid. Other that that, if you want to punish yourself by electrocution, by my guest, I tried hard to go through three of those Arasys sessions, where electrodes are applied on my belly, wrapped around by slightly damp body wraps and one of the girls turned the machine from low to high enough voltage to feel my muscles cramping at a point of pain and endure that for about 15 minutes - don't ask me why... I guess I was stupid enough to believe in "science". So, three sessions, 15 minutes each, measured me up before and after each one of them - not an inch lost, nada. Forgot to mention that I am overall fit, gym goer, runner, etc.... but aging is not helping in keeping that tummy taut - put on few inches around the past year, thus my reason to try the slimming attached to a machine. I've been searching for a good spa for a while and I think that I may have found it! Good location, easy parking (they validate too!) and the spa is so quaint and cozy. Need a good eyebrow wax? - ask for Lauren. They use the hard wax which is so much better for your skin and doesn't leave those nasty red marks on your skin. I initially found Adara through Groupon a year and a half ago and am still in love! The two women who run it, Lauren and Amelia, are so kind and amazing. I've had multiple facials with Lauren and she's always so gentle and walks you through everything that she is doing/will do. Amelia does my nails (mani, pedi, shellac - I've done it all) and she takes her time and definitely makes you feel pampered. It always comes out looking great! She's also super easy and fun to talk to. The spa itself is very cute. It's on the smaller side, but they've done a great job decorating and making it welcoming so the size is not an issue. It can be a little pricey if you're paying full price for the services but if you sign up for their emails, they offer promotions frequently. Definitely recommend! Only suggestion is it can be a little difficult to schedule an appointment online if it's not something further out, but if you give them a call, Amelia (who usually picks up) is always willing to work with you! read more

So I've come to update my review on two facials I've received here thus far: the PurAcne facial, and the regular Adara spa facial. They are honestly two of the best facials I've ever received because of the following reasons: 1) the facialist is very sweet-natured, not brusque or crude like others I've seen who spend the entire session critiquing my acne and scarred skin 2) she is gentle AND strong when she needs to be, depending on the phase of the treatment. I've had facials before where you feel like all the facialist does is slap lotions on your face with little to no effort, and others where I've come out crying from how painful the extractions were. She's very good at reading body language and knowing when to push and pull in a very adept manner. The PurAcne facial is INCREDIBLE at clearing up your skin!! If you have congested skin, I highly recommend it. The Adara spa facial doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the PurAcne facial, but even without add-ons like high frequency, etc it's quite relaxing and leaves your skin rejuvenated and bright. 3) the ambient is incredibly soothing, there is relaxing music in the background and the room is not starkly lit nor pitch dark. I've rarely felt disturbed by other services being performed outside of the facial/massage room which is a major plus given the small space of the spa. 4) PROMOTIONS!!! Being the cash-strapped college student that I am, I can't fork out $100+ for facials and other spa procedures that I both benefit from and enjoy :( They have fantastic groupon deals, as well as promotions coming up! Booked myself for a facial and pedicure special for $50 in October, and the most recent visit was $65 for facial and shellac manicure :) it helps keep me as a regular customer, otherwise I would be more than happy to fork over full price because customer service and the quality of the treatments are both such genuine and high quality. read more

Context: Trying to be frugal, I bought a Groupon for a cut and color, even though I already have a stylist I'm very happy with. I hadn't been here before and won't go back because of the mediocre experience. Pro: - Easy to find - Extremely clean salon - Was seated right away - Color came out great Con: - Bad cut. I brought pictures of the type of bangs I wanted and she cut them WAY too short - looks nothing like the pictures. - Bad ambiance. Poor music selections; some songs were on repeat. Slightly annoying. - Quiet as a library. I felt bad talking, so I just didn't. The staff didn't talk to each other. My stylist didn't talk to me at all - the place is a snoozefest. read more

I went to Adara after purchasing a Groupon deal for a facial and spa manicure. For just $45, the services were an absolute steal. The salon is small, yet chic. It could, however, be set up better. The spa room for the facial was directly next to the reception area, which meant you could hear others' conversations. The co-owner who did my nails was extremely friendly and thorough. For a non-shellac manicure, it held longer than I expected. My one critique for that part of the service is that a wider range of colors could be offered. The customer service here is pretty stellar in my opinion. The phones just aren't the best route. They have an option for online booking. AND if you have any concerns beyond that you can email them. They are a small salon, and do deals a lot which I know can be overwhelming. You just have to be patient. However, if you truly need fast service-- explain your situation. Amelia came in early one morning to see me before I left for vacation. She didn't have to do that, or make the time, but she did. I personally like the weight loss treatment they have, but I combined it with exercise and diet. read more

Lauren gave me a great facial. I don't get facials often though so I don't have much to compare it to. Other facialists have told me that I don't drink enough water (blah blah) and try to sell me products which can get REALLY annoying. Lauren just gave me a relaxing facial which is all I wanted. Minus one star for the waiting time with the facial mask on. Amelia gave me such a meticulous manicure! She took her time shaping my nails and applying the nail polish. My 4 girlfriends and I booked an afternoon for relaxation. We travelled from various countries and had a nice reunion. Fortunately, we had the place to ourselves. Some of us got massages and pedicures, and some of us got a facial and manicure. Doan & Grace (the owners) were really friendly and nice! I had a gel manicure done here and also a pedicure. Amelia, the nail specialist, greeted me with a warm smile when I walked in. It was such a cute spa, clean, with lovely decorations. I came in for a Gel manicure, and I really needed a pedicure as well. Amelia was so nice, and when I asked if she had time, she said she had another client coming in right after but if we started right away, she could do it (how nice was that?!). With my time being so limited with work, I really appreciated her fitting me in for a pedicure. She was so great and timed everything so perfectly. When her next client arrived, I was already finished and waiting to dry. Ive been getting gel manicures for years, and I received SO many compliments on my nails after Amelia completed them. I don't see a single chip what-so-ever! They look simply beautiful! I asked her about her other services because I was so happy with the 5 star customer service and quality. Amelia explained (without any pressure) all of the different services. I loved the spa so much that I am going back in for a spa treatment later today! My girl friends and I all got the facial, mani, pedi treatment and we felt very pampered and relaxed. I am not really a spa sort of girl, but the owners of Adara are relatively young and I felt very comfortable at Adara. They were very friendly and easy going. The entire treatment took 4 hours so there was definitely a lot of personal attention. My cuticle is perfectly trimmed and I love the crisp clean look of my hands, and the facial felt refreshing. Plus, it doesn't hurt that they were generous with samples. My one bite about Adara is that my pedi was less than exceptional. I am prone to spacing out.. and I guess it's my own fault for not paying attention, but the polish was very poorly applied. It overflowed onto my skin on almost all my toes. I am sure if I had taken a look before I walked out of Adara they would have fixed it for me, but for a place that advertises itself as high end they should not let a client walk out like that. read more

Maybe I'll write a better review sometime in the future - after I'm actually able to get into this place in the first place. It is ridiculously difficult to get an appointment here. Booking 2 MONTHS IN ADVANCE? That's just ludicrous. Also, apparently your business isn't really that important to them. I tried calling over the course of 2 days to schedule an appointment, consistently getting voicemail. When I finally left a voicemail, they could not be bothered to return my call. EDIT: After having to wait several months, I finally had my appointment at Adara. The spa is very small, but very nice and the staff were all very friendly. I had purchased the arasys/sudatonic package from Buywithme and was unable to do the Sudatonic because of a contraindicated medical condition (*sigh*), but the staff were very accommodating and gave me 50 minutes on the arasys instead. So the spa and staff are nice, but the wait is ridiculous. Also, as I suspected, the arasys treatment is a load of bunk. read more

A girlfriend and I went here for Mother's Day facials and mani's my boyfriend got us through Groupon. Originally I was annoyed because I couldn't get an appointment without it being a month out. Once I finally set up an appointment and went, I realized it was a quaint spa with only two women there. It now made sense why it took so long to get an appointment. I guess I'm just used to places that are run like an assembly line (in and out with no real personal touch). My girlfriend did the facial first while I had my mani. Amelia did my mani and was very nice. She took her time and really made it enjoyable. Being right by the wharf and with the huge windows the spa has, made the atmosphere very relaxing. Since it was only them two, it was nice and quite, which I appreciate. After my mani, Lauren took me in to have my facial done. With it being my first facial, I didn't know what to expect. It was a nice surprise to have a warmed bed. She took her time and the massage felt great. My face was nice and moisturized, and afterward I felt renergized! Both Amelia and Lauren were so nice and I loved the atmosphere! I will definitely be back! But just a word of warning, if you want a weekend appointment, it will probably be a little while out. read more

I can't say enough good things about Adara Spa! I treated myself to a spa manicure and PurOxygen facial. They provide an easy online booking system and sent reminder emails as a courtesy.The spa is adorable and the girls were both outstanding! The facial was nothing short of incredible, and the manicure was friendly and relaxing, My polish lasted a week with no signs of chipping! My mini "spa day" was exactly what I needed, and I really loved the entire experience. I would highly recommend this spa! I am already planning my next visit. read more

So I actually called Adara on accident, trying to call a different spa in the North End, but decided it was worth the go. Initially my call was to book the $35 mani pedi special somewhere else, so when I called there, pedi was $45, however they have an express for $30, which was okay. So not sure how long a full Pedi is seeing as the express took an hour, however, I too was treated to an extra, this blowdryer with sandpaper on it that buffs your callouses off. Pretty sweet, cause I have some intense callousing. Overall great job, seeing as I was cheap I did miss a leg rub, but I would definitely go back there when I want to really treat myself. One negative- the benches you sit in. They have cushions, but they shift. Having become accostomed to the big comfy massage chairs, was super disappointed not to be able to lean back, and prob take a quick nap. read more

I had a fantastic first experience at Adara Spa. I used the online booking system to schedule a 1 hour facial and 1 hour pedicure at the unbeatable Spa Week steal price of $50. I've never had a facial before, but had always wanted to give it a try. I'm fortunate not to have problematic skin, so I wasn't sure what I'd actually get out of it. While I don't notice a difference in my skin, the facial itself was very enjoyable and relaxing - so much so that I think I actually fell asleep! The spa is bright, clean and welcoming, as are the staff. For the facial, I was brought into a small room with tranquil music playing to drown out the noises of the main area of the spa. After changing into a terrycloth wrap and headband, I got under the covers of the heated bed and the facialist got to work, not only on my face, but also my neck, chest and arms, with light massaging here and there. Again, incredibly relaxing! After my facial, I picked out a nail color and was guided into a small, semi-private room for the pedicure with a different technician. This was a much different setup than I had seen previously - no standard issue massage chairs here. There were two tiers of tile, the top tier covered with throw pillows and the lower tier had the foot bath. There was also a stack of books and magazines to keep me entertained. The pedicure was phenomenal! Maybe the best I've had. And it looks amazing! The technician even offered a complimentary treatment with the electric foot buffer, typically a $10 add-on fee. The foot buffer did wonders - my feet have never felt so smooth! My only regret is that I didn't get the pedicure earlier in the year so I could show it off since it's no longer sandal season. All in all, this was a topnotch experience and I look forward to a return visit to try out some of the others treatments. I highly recommend giving this place a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

I really enjoyed my experience at Adara's. I got the head to toe package, which is a full facial, manicure and pedicure. The massage area is not a separate room but is instead separated from the rest of the spa by sliding doors, so sound carries right through. It was a little hard to relax to the soothing ambient music in the room when I could hear the upbeat music playing in the spa at the same time. Angela did my nails and she was INCREDIBLE. She was meticulous, sweet, and very professional. She spent a lot of time shaping the nails, and it paid off- this was the best manicure and pedicure I ever had. Note: My friend got her hair cut here, and was not pleased at all. However, when the spa found out later that she did not enjoy it, they called her back and offered her another service for free! I first saw adara on groupon. Saw that they had a great deal for a puracne facial and bought for my daughter. I booked online for the facial but did not realize I was supposed to book separately for the spa manicure that also came with the groupon. Her skin cleared up after the facial and the girl who did her nails was really sweet and nice. Fast forward a month after and I booked for 2 facials and 1 puracne again. I enjoyed my facial and so did my mother in law. The store is tiny and there is only two ladies working here. So if you want to do a couple's pedi or facials or with your relatives or friends, that's not going to happen. read more

I had a wonderful experience here. I went during spa week with two friends for a - get this - 60 min facial AND 60 min pedicure for $50 TOTAL. Unheard of. And they were great! The salon is nicely decorated, but very tiny. Two of use were able to sit together during our pedicures (but they had to do one at a time) while the third was getting their facial. It worked out perfectly though. When I called to schedule the appointment, we wanted to schedule 3 people for 6 services consecutively on a Saturday during spa week. They weren't able to do it right away, but when I called back a little later, they had had a cancellation and saved it for me. It was so perfect! The women doing the services were welcoming and took us right away, even though we were pretty early. The services themselves were great. For the pedicure, they had this skin buffer that was AMAZING, that they used on us for free to let us see if we liked it. My feet were baby soft! And it was a local Boston product they were supporting, which I can definitely appreciate. The facial - I had only had one before but this was heaven. Everything smelled delicious, and it was so relaxing I even feel asleep for a few minutes somewhere in there. I was happy as a clam. They send email specials as well if you sign up, which I will probably take advantage of soon! Great little spa. read more

Wow. Got the mani pedi facial package and cannot rave more about this spa. Not only is it so convenient (Starbucks right next door btw) but the owner is the SWEETEST and so good at her services. She really goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and get the best care. Such a hidden gem this spa will definitely be a staple in my self care routine. read more
