The spa is lovely. As soon as you enter the front doors, an employee will greet you. If your pass or membership allows salon treatments, you have access to other amenities. There is swimming, jacuzzis (inside & outside) and a gym. The indoor pool is open year round. The seasonal outdoor pool was closed. A yoga studio is equipped with mats, a fully mirrored room and balancing bricks. The staff will hand you one towel. I brought a beach towel since I was also using the jacuzzi. The gym also has sweat towels. The locker room is spacious. There are shower/changing stalls, wet & dry steam rooms and a nice area to dry your hair. There are various spa treatments from facial care to massages. You can purchase limited snacks and a large variety of beverages in the salon. Guests can buy creams, CBD lotions and other items. Our in-laws treated us to a couples massage for our one-year anniversary and the Spa at Wintergreen did not disappoint. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and directed to the lockers to get changed, and then out to the relaxation room where we could help ourselves to hot tea, treats, and ice-cold water. We were early for our appointment, so we had a little time to enjoy the mountainous view from the windows by the fireplace. Our massage therapists greeted us and led us to our massage room from there. The massage was incredibly soothing. Once our massage was complete, our massage therapists offered us celebratory champagne which we accepted (obviously). Before departing, my husband and I returned to our respective locker rooms to utilize the steam room and sauna. It took me a minute (and a trip to the hostess desk) to figure out that I had to turn on both rooms myself as they were on timers and were not automatically kept on. Once I figured this out, I was able to fully enjoy what the rooms had to offer. We were sad to leave but have already talked about going back! Maybe next time for a facial! read more

Had an incredibly relaxing facial - so relaxing I felt like I'd had a full body massage. Caught myself dozing off during the facial with my mind totally calm. I spent the weekend at Wintergreen Resort for bachelorette activities. The bride booked massages/facials/mani/pedi for us. I selected the hot stone massage. Debbie was my massage therapist & amazing! Perfect pressure & very communicative. I highly recommend visiting the spa and booking with Debbie. They provide us with a robe, towel and slippers. I hosted a group of 7 girls for a spa day. Debbie did a fantastic job coordinating with me in advance! She even hired more people for the day to accommodate us. Our massages were perfect. We spent nearly 4 hours in the relaxation room drinking tea, reading magazines and snacking on almonds. We loved the sauna and steam room. The pool, fitness and hot tub facilities are also included in your visit. I actually worked out before my massage (yes, I showered first!). The entire experience was phenomenal. Insanely overpriced. I can't even wrap my head around how much I paid for a 50 minute massage that was "meh" at best. As a massage therapist myself, I can tell you that the massage was cookie cutter and therapist was phoning it in. This is by far the worst spa I've EVER been to! The front desk staff was the rudest in the business! Not a spa atmosphere I would waste my time and money on. Today was my "I'll give them one more chance" appointment. The last visit I walked into the relaxation area (mind you I was the first client of the day), to what appeared to have been an epic party. There were no less than 10 half drunk champagne classes with lip stains on them, paper napkins everywhere, snacks on the floor dirty dirty dirty! All the chairs and pillows looked disheveled. Nothing was clean and tidy and definitely not spa like. Today, it's raining up here so what better way to spend some much needed down time then at the spa? Right? WRONG! I emailed the resort last week to schedule an appointment and even left a message with them. NOBODY returned my email or call, so yesterday (knowing it was going to be raining today) I made one last attempt to contact the spa to see if they had anything available for a massage. I FINALLY got someone on the phone!! A gentleman. He said they had a 10am 50 minute massage and that was it. I said, l'll take it!! I woke up this morning, didn't even make breakfast for my family, my whole morning centered around getting up to the spa by 9:40. I was left to wait at the front desk for 10 minutes not greeted by the front desk lady at all or even told it will be a minute while she waited on a mom with 4 kids for something that had to do with the pool. Once she could get around to greeting me she didn't even say hello, sorry to keep you waiting, nothing! I greeted her with a smile and a good morning and let her know I had a 10am massage. She looked me up and said you don't have a massage, did you get a confirmation? Well first of all nobody informed me that I was required to search my email archives to see if I've been confirmed for an appointment before I actually have one and since I had just made this appointment the night before, I said I'm not sure let me look. Nope nothing. She then said, and I quote, "NO CONFIRMATION, NO APPOINTMENT"! Well that sounded like she's had to say that one too many times. so clearly there's A PROBLEM! There is no reason to be rude. If that wasn't bad enough, she said , can you move aside so I can help these ladies. WHAT?!!!!! There was a yoga class that was about to start. I've taught yoga for 30 years I would have LOVED to take that next class and I should have been offered the class as an accommodation effort. It would have been so easy to diffuse the situation by saying, "could we offer you a complimentary yoga class while we work to try to correct this error on our side?" How difficult would that have been? The front desk lady proceeded to help the 10 women waiting to go into yoga so I decided I'd use the restroom while I waited, she yelled at me YELLED, "MAM YOU CANT GO IN THERE THATS FOR SPA GUESTS ONLY!" OH, so NOW she has time for me?!! Not only does she put forth a good effort in poor customer service she finds it necessary to publicly shame people. I've never felt so disrespected and so disregarded in my whole life! In an attempt to find someone to help me, I called the main number. The sweetest soul on the planet, Lindsey, answered. Lindsey tried her best to diffuse the situation which was the right thing to do. She apologized for the way I was treated and said she will have a manager contact me. I find it very disturbing that there are zero decision makers and ZERO MANAGERS working at Wintergreen on the weekend! THEIR BUSIEST TIME OF THE WEEK!! Coral Collins and Rod Kessler have failed this resort miserably! I grew up skiing this resort. My mother was a medic here when i was a small child (I'm 48 now). We have brought our family to ski here (despite the fact I used to live at Massanutten ski resort). I know for a fact that THIS type of situation would have NEVER happened at Massanutten! They have managers that work the weekends and their customer service training for employees is nothing less than something you'd see at Disney Resorts! We always knew we'd buy a home or condo at Wintergreen one day, this situation alone has made us re think our plans. I will never go back to this horrific spa EVER! read more

Don't bother until the renovations are finished. I've been to the Spa many times, But when I book my appointment they failed to mention that the Spa was currently under renovation. Drove to the main entrance only to find it locked and had to turn around and go back down to the bottom of the hill. And it's a pretty steep hill. I thought the last thing I'd want to do before getting a massage as the climb three flights of stairs back to the new entrance. Complained about that, and was told that our email confirmation had that information. A-didn't get an email confirmation. Be-if you got someone on the phone why do you leave it to an email to convey important information like where the new entrance is? Barely had enough time to change in my robe and get to the relaxation area before I was called for my massage The treatment itself was quite good no complaints there. Overall though, the facility is quite dated and needs some sprucing up. I don't think the renovation will be addressing that. The lockers all have a loose locks, still the old fashion number key system. In the relaxation room is still serving the same snacks and has the same Decor that it had 10 years ago I thought climbing three flights of stairs before massage was bad, but what was worse was to get back to the reception you have to walk past the indoor pool. Still half asleep from the massage, I was jarred awake by the screaming of hundreds of kids splashing around and they searing sticky heat I have a giant indoor pool and hot tub and hundreds of people. Relaxation achieved, now it disappeared. Got to check out the find that they have now gone to a weekend surcharge system with services being more expensive on weekends and holidays and during the week. There was an also an 18% surcharge on the service, but I was advised that I was welcome to add more if I saw fit Not an outrageously priced experience, just not a good value for the money given the current state of the facility read more

My daughter had a wonderful experience at this spa, but mine was dreadful. For my daughter (a tween), I arranged a "rub my back" massage, and she loved it--the therapist was very kind and made her feel special. My therapist was the worst I've ever had, though! She told me to have my thyroid checked (a comment about my weight), had long nails that scratched me during the massage, and then clocked me in the head with the hot stone she was using. It really was like something out of a sitcom. Locals, I recommend the Boar's Head instead--a much better experience. read more

We had spa appointments for a group of eight, including massages, facials and manicure/pedicures. I loved my massage with Debbie Green and most members of our group loved their services. The pools were great as well. Our only complaint was that one person in our group had a therapist that could not apply much pressure and did not do a great job. read more
