I needed makeup done for my family holiday photoshoot. Booked online with Liz. The Sparkle Bar is a great vibe -- decor, music, etc. I love that the receptionist asked me to wash my hands before my service. Appreciate trying to keep people healthy during cold/flu season. As someone with a husband who is high risk for COVID (and the fact that makeup artists need to get SO close to you face to do their job) I was grateful that in 2024 both makeup artists were masked. They truly care about health of clients. Liz listened to what I was trying to achieve and then worked her magic in just 45 mins. She was a pleasure to chat with and at the end handed me a mirror and offered to add or change anything. Excellent communication. Overall wonderful experience. So professional and engaging. Jaclyn heard my needs and the parameters of the event I was attending. This was a very positive experience. The studio is so clean and they pay attention to hygiene. I felt polished & ready for my event upon departure. I will return for Jaclyn's expertise service. She is a gem! I'm going to start off by admitting I have no idea how to do my make up. I own mascara and and eyeliner and that's it. When I know I need to go to an event and be dressed up, I'm immediately filled with a sense of impending doom because I need to wear make up that I'm so incapable of putting on. Sparkle bar was close by and had stellar reviews so with high hopes, I stopped by. After looking through reviews, I saw a MUA that kept coming up, Charlee. I cannot even begin to describe how incredibly gifted and talented she is. Just when I thought the make up couldn't get any more beautiful, it did! I got so many compliments on my make up and I've been back a few times. If you have an event you need to get camera ready for, Charlee will make you look and feel like an absolute goddess. I had a photoshoot for LinkedIn headshots and heading out for the night afterwards. My usual makeup artist was booked so I decided to checkout The Sparkle Bar. I'm super picky with makeup as a Black woman not everyone can do our makeup. The Sparkle Bar did the damn thing. The environment is super cute and clean. Everyone was welcoming and truly appreciated their attention to hygiene and cleanliness. I got the opportunity to work with Charlee and to say she is talented isn't enough. The makeup fitted my style. A little flair and easily transition from day to night. This was self care as the environment really provides you a place to enjoy being pampered. This review is long over-do but better late then never. I've been to Sparkle bar twice and each time the artists go above and beyond to making you feel like an absolute queen. They take their time and listen to your vision. I appreciate them Especially last year before my wedding day making me feel beautiful for my rehearsal dinner. Nothing less than spectacular is the service and the way I feel when I leave The Sparkle Bar! This has become so much more than a 'service' to me; It's become a place where I feel I am coming to hang with my friends while they do my face and we chat! LITERALLY I have that much fun! This is the season of glitz and glam and this year I made my booking a little more on the ready than last time I needed help with my aging plain girl face. I do not love trying to hide the flaws and getting ready for parties the way I used to when I was a bunch of years younger for one, I just don't know how and for TWO I just can't do it as well as the Sparkle team can! PLUS, I have so much fun now coming in and chatting with Alex and Charlee and Eli and seeing the team of boss babes and how they have grown so much in the past years ! This studio has gone from being amazing to even more awesome! I love it so much and I love how I feel each time I come in and when I leave here. I usually always get the , "Camera Ready" service and add lashes for $20 , ( and yes, to the one star review that said she didn't see that as noted.. IT does state that in the appointment when you book it or if you add it when getting your face done, it is said to you.. please be responsible when buying for the love of all glitz and glam!) Today, I asked Charlee if I could just do more neutral tones and be a little more understated on my face than in the past.. That was a suggestion of , "how about the "Fresh Face". I had come in this time with a literal bare face, because I usually just do that when at home anyway or fresh from the gym unless I am traveling for work and as I said, I don't enjoy a ton of makeup on my face anymore! I have taken a great deal of care in my skin over the past two years , again due to aging, and thankfully I believe it's paid off, because I was able to get away with a minimal 'fresh face' look and with the lashes Charlee did, I felt the look just 'popped'! I went home; popped on my outfit ; flat ironed my hair and was at our party with in 90 minutes of leaving and this look lasted through out the event and into the wee hours of the am aka the 'after party' where some of my co-workers met with my husband's and well, that is just another story! The makeup lasted. My feet in red bottoms-- well, my Sparkle Bar babes can not solve all the miracles of the holiday season! I do love the new studio. This team is always so fun! They listen to what you want on your face! You are always met with the request of pressed juice; bottled water; tea. Everyone here is safe and sanitary. We have not been out of the pandemic that long.. although most of the world seems to have forgotten that, it is very safe here and the team here still takes it seriously for those of us that have not forgotten it! They want you safe and they want to stay safe too-- wash those hands when you enter. The products they use are always the best: YSL; Dior; Chanel; MAC etc. the parking in the back was super easy too this time. Alex and I spoke about this before as I truly have stressed about the parking situation on the weekends in Old Town! IYKYK! The Sparkle Bar does headshots now and since I loathe my new one that my company just did at a recent conference, that will my next visit to what I deem 'my glam squad' ! Trust me .. this is the place for what you need if you are like me and just feel that make up and getting glam is a bit of a chore and a bit more energy than one needs to be pretty .. So here is a million and five kisses to Alex ; Charlee; Eli and her team of absolute fabulous babes for making me , ( and sometimes my girls!) feel so amazing! xoxo read more

Having your make up done by a stranger can make some people feel awkward and nervous. I've been to The Sparkle Bar a few times and every make up artist I've seen has made the experience comfortable, fun, and a total success. I'm an Interior Designer based out of the East Bay Area and design & travel for projects across the United States. I designed an AirBnb called the Prickly Pear for an amazing client named Chelsey Kenney. My family and I were visiting it for a week and I really wanted to do a last minute branding and family photo shoot and go for a professional look but I struggled to find a makeup artist. Have a special event or just want to doll up for a fun night out and want to look super special hit up The Sparkle Bar. I have been twice to The Sparkle Bar for make up for 2 separate weddings. Most recently I was officiating a wedding. I am not that good with make up aka I don't wear much and definitely I don't know how to apply it correctly. Made an appointment and that was easy they helped me map out my time with my hair and then make up(thank you) Upon arriving for my appointment my makeup artist(Charlie) greeted me and asked me several key questions. What are wearing, what color etc she immediately went to work and I loved how she explained each step and would ask if I liked it. In the end she was friendly, professional and I loved it! The best experience I could have asked for! I have had nothing but bad luck prior to my engagement shoot, and last min cancellation from my make up artist -BUT The Sparkle Bar was a huge help & completely saved the day! Thank you thank you thank you! I was able to book a same day appointment. Had no issues finding the new location (new suite). The atmosphere was amazing! Love the aesthetic and overall bright and open vibe. Eli was my artist and new go to for any and all makeup! I am usually a CC Cream and Mascara gal so he made sure to keep it simple yet so GLAM! I felt all my pre-photo shoot nerves melt away. Honestly don't pamper myself often, but this was such a wonderful experience I will for sure be doing this more often! Love this place!! I tried this place based on the reviews and I wasn't disappointed. They use high end make up products (Chanel, Mac, Armani, etc). They make-up artists all seem to be very nice, although my fave is Eli. You should ask for him and you won't be disappointed. They also do classes there. Oh and they have expensive perfume at the bathroom available for you to use to freshen up . read more

Oh my gosh! Hands down the best place to get your make up done in Scottsdale!! I was luckily able to get. A spot last minute for my birthday. Could not have asked for a better experience!! Roxy (I believe was her name ) did my makeup for a very small backyard wedding where I was a bridesmaid. I choose the Eyes, Cheeks and lips option ($40) I applied my own foundation and brought my own lashes for them to apply ($10) I have NEVER left an establishment feeling more confident and beautiful. I will keep this review short and sweet! The sparkle bar will do just that, make you sparkle! I came here prior to an event and I cannot get over how amazing and beautiful they made me feel inside and out. I had been in a bit of a beauty rut and I needed something to get me out of it and sparkle bar did just that! Only a few criticisms and suggestions, carry a higher and more extensive variety of cosmetics and brands... I was surprised at how low end a few of the products were that were used and offered there. Also, I wish they sold some of the products they used mostly lipgloss and lipstick! But that's just honestly nitpicking! So glad that a place like the sparkle bar is in Phoenix, it is a much needed service. Overall it was a truly positive experience and I will be back! read more

I had a question for my artist whom I texted a week before my wedding (end of March) to ask, only to find out that she no longer worked for the company and left mid-February. Neither my planner or I were informed of this, or were re-booked a trial with a new artist, which I found completely unacceptable. After calling this out, Makiaj booked me a re-trial on the Thursday before my wedding. This caused me a TON of stress on my wedding week, which could have been easily avoided. Trials are meant to be used to make changes, which if this was done on my wedding day, would have caused delays in the wedding day schedule. My new artist said she had my on her schedule mid-February, but Makiaj just didn't schedule a re-trial for me. I am still giving Makiaj 2 stars because their master artists (the artists for the brides) are extremely talented. Shout out to Jada, who's foundation and skin work is AMAZING!

Once I sat down appeared lovely Kiara, she brought me to her station.. started the consultation, had me pick a Chakra card to relax me & gave me a deep neck massage before even walking me over to wash my hair! Yes, she had me sold I'm loving it... she's either gotta mess my extremely long hair up or she just made herself a regular client... lol!! Okay now I'm anticipating the shampoo & conditioning.... You're correct no complaints there either, plus because my hair is so long I got to sit in that chair a little longer, lol!! Kiara walked me over & got to work, I was wanting some long curtain bangs with layers throughout to add fullness... she did exactly as I requested & began styling with the dryer! Once Kiara was done I told her I loved it, she did everything I wanted... she then even offered to using the curling iron to show me the difference in the style but I told her there's no need to... I planned my entire day carefully and precisely to ensure everything ran smoothly and on time. While on my way to the appointment, I called to confirm, wanting to make sure everything was set for such a meaningful day. After multiple calls with no answer, I received a text just 30 minutes before my appointment. The message was addressed to the wrong person and stated that my appointment had been canceled. At first, I genuinely thought it was a scam. Unfortunately, it wasn't. Because of the extremely short notice and lack of communication, I was forced to scramble at the last minute. Despite planning meticulously, I arrived late to my graduation and nearly missed the opportunity to walk across the stage. I was only notified of the cancellation because I called to confirm; there was no proactive outreach from the company. Very little professionalism, accountability, or genuine remorse was shown. The stress and disappointment caused on such an important day were completely avoidable. I can only imagine how devastating this would be if it were for an event such as a wedding. Based on my experience, I strongly advise against booking with this company.

For the two girls with short hair, Jenna gave them a ton of volume and waves--which looked incredible on them. The other girl got this gorgeous pull through braid from Jenna. It was beautiful! Everyone hair looked amazing! I had wanted a crown braid but wanted it too be a little whimsical--Not perfectly in place. She did exactly that, it was a beautiful, full crown around the world braid, and it didn't even take that long! She then did our makeup, which wasn't super caked on, it was the perfect amount, and the colors went perfect with our dresses. I was so happy with it--I couldn't ever imagine it would all look as good as it did! Not only that, but it all lasted all night! I had never worn lashes before either but they stayed on all night with no issues. It couldn't have been more perfect.
