I'm super picky with makeup as a Black woman not everyone can do our makeup. The Sparkle Bar did the damn thing. The environment is super cute and clean. Everyone was welcoming and truly appreciated their attention to hygiene and cleanliness. I got the opportunity to work with Charlee and to say she is talented isn't enough. Nothing less than spectacular is the service and the way I feel when I leave The Sparkle Bar! This has become so much more than a 'service' to me; It's become a place where I feel I am coming to hang with my friends while they do my face and we chat! LITERALLY I have that much fun! This is the season of glitz and glam and this year I made my booking a little more on the ready than last time I needed help with my aging plain girl face. I do not love trying to hide the flaws and getting ready for parties the way I used to when I was a bunch of years younger for one, I just don't know how and for TWO I just can't do it as well as the Sparkle team can! PLUS, I have so much fun now coming in and chatting with Alex and Charlee and Eli and seeing the team of boss babes and how they have grown so much in the past years ! This studio has gone from being amazing to even more awesome! I love it so much and I love how I feel each time I come in and when I leave here. I usually always get the , "Camera Ready" service and add lashes for $20 , ( and yes, to the one star review that said she didn't see that as noted.. IT does state that in the appointment when you book it or if you add it when getting your face done, it is said to you.. please be responsible when buying for the love of all glitz and glam!) Today, I asked Charlee if I could just do more neutral tones and be a little more understated on my face than in the past.. That was a suggestion of , "how about the "Fresh Face". I had come in this time with a literal bare face, because I usually just do that when at home anyway or fresh from the gym unless I am traveling for work and as I said, I don't enjoy a ton of makeup on my face anymore! I have taken a great deal of care in my skin over the past two years , again due to aging, and thankfully I believe it's paid off, because I was able to get away with a minimal 'fresh face' look and with the lashes Charlee did, I felt the look just 'popped'! I went home; popped on my outfit ; flat ironed my hair and was at our party with in 90 minutes of leaving and this look lasted through out the event and into the wee hours of the am aka the 'after party' where some of my co-workers met with my husband's and well, that is just another story! The makeup lasted. My feet in red bottoms-- well, my Sparkle Bar babes can not solve all the miracles of the holiday season! I do love the new studio. This team is always so fun! They listen to what you want on your face! You are always met with the request of pressed juice; bottled water; tea. Everyone here is safe and sanitary. We have not been out of the pandemic that long.. although most of the world seems to have forgotten that, it is very safe here and the team here still takes it seriously for those of us that have not forgotten it! They want you safe and they want to stay safe too-- wash those hands when you enter. The products they use are always the best: YSL; Dior; Chanel; MAC etc. the parking in the back was super easy too this time. Alex and I spoke about this before as I truly have stressed about the parking situation on the weekends in Old Town! IYKYK! The Sparkle Bar does headshots now and since I loathe my new one that my company just did at a recent conference, that will my next visit to what I deem 'my glam squad' ! Trust me .. this is the place for what you need if you are like me and just feel that make up and getting glam is a bit of a chore and a bit more energy than one needs to be pretty ..
