We came here for a girls night for dinner and thankfully made a reservation in advanced because…read morethey were busy. It's inside of a hotel so you take the elevator up to the top floor. Near the host stand there's a shelf of swag that they offer, like stickers, hats, sweaters and t shirts which was pretty cool. Loved the vibe and set up as you walk in. There's high tops, bar seating, big old school leather booth and big doors that open to offer outdoor patio seating. There was a beautiful sunset that night as well. We didn't get seated right away and found out they were having issues with their ovens prior which affected timing and caused delays to service. Luckily but the time we got sat our server told us that everything was up and running! We started with a couple glasses of wine and got some nice sunset pictures and then made our way to our table. Ella was very nice and guided us through some of her favorite options and we rolled with a few of them. We tried the honey pot cocktail which was so cute and unique. Had a small dollop of a meringue on top that gave it some texture. Our starter was the house made Foccacia and whipped ricotta spread. This was delicious! I found that 2 pieces of bread was not enough to devour all of that creamy and decadent ricotta so we asked for more and she gave us a couple more pieces which was nice. After that was the oven roasted chicken wings with garlic and grilled lemon. I absolutely LOVED these! They were tender, flavorful and that grilled lemon was what sealed all the flavors together. We moved along to the pizzas and decided to try two different kinds. The Asheville and Fig & Prosciutto. Both had their own unique thing that made them tasty. I love a hot honey on a pizza and the combo of sweet and savory so these were great. My only feedback is that the crust was a bit too doughy and not as crispy as I'd hope but that could've just been because they were just getting their ovens up and running right before. However they tasted good and we still enjoyed them. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed the food and service from Ella. Looking to sit outside next time!

First time staying at this hotel and they have a voucher for food and since I wasn't hungry, I got…read moresome desserts to try. I'm OBSESSED with chocolate so I had to try the chocolate cake. I very much love the filling on the inside which was a chocolate frosting and loved the chocolate layer on the outside of the cake. The cake part itself was definitely a bit dry. It was flakey when I put my spoon into it. Still good but the filling helped a lot. It did come with some kind of fruit sauce on the side (maybe strawberry?) but I didn't wanna make it a fruity chocolate cake so I dipped a few bites. I also saw they had Bavarian cream churros and since I've never had churros before, I wanted to try those as well. I'm not sure how churros are supposed to be but I was thinking they would be a little soft since they had filling but they weren't. They were on the crunchy side and I that kinda made it hard to taste the cream in the middle. They were good but like I said, not sure if that's how they're supposed to be. They came with a chocolate sauce and it was delicious but that definitely masked the flavor of the churro. Both were $7 each so not too bad. I think I'd get both again if I'm here in the future. Side note, no, I don't finish either dessert. I took them home. Lmao!

MY LEAST FAVORITE ROOFTOP IN ASHEVILLE…read more Hemingway's Cuba is on the 4th floor of the Cambria Hotel. It's a spacious bar/restaurant with ample indoor and outdoor seating. I've been here twice now and cannot say I'm impressed. On our most recent visit we ordered chicken empanadas as a snack with our drinks. The chicken was bland with no seasoning or sauce inside, just plain chicken. The empanadas had a sauce drizzled on top and another sauce on the side, but those couldn't quite save the dish, just made it palatable. The food came out before drinks, and we already finished our food before the drinks came! Waitress checked on us and we said we were still waiting on drinks and she had to ask us again what we ordered. She then promptly came with the drinks. Drinks were pretty good, but we stopped after that one round. Our waitress seemed new, so I don't fault her. All in all, with the abundance of rooftop bar options downtown this one is definitely on the bottom of my list. The main plus is how spacious it is, great for large groups! Just avoid the empanadas.
