I love this place. I'm currently receiving care from Dr. Sharma and this is my first experience with chiropractic care. After an Extensive initial consultation, the plan for my care would be biweekly visits for a month followed by weekly visits 4 to 6 months (roughly). Initially I felt overwhelmed by the thought of having to drive out to the office so often for Care, as my current health is compromised by Lyme Disease and co-infections. However, Dr. Sharma had earned my trust in the process and instilled hope in me through his endearing bedside manner and knowledge of his work. It's now been about 5 months of care, and I surprisingly look forward to these visits. The office is clean and has a healing vibe. Before seeing Dr. Alexa, I had never been to a chiropractor before and didn't know what to expect. However, I was getting migraines 3-4 times a week. I was very disappointed. Maybe I was too naive. I found the Specific through Yelp and because of the high ratings, I called to book an appointment. I was informed in advance that there would be $250 for the first 2 visits. The first visit would be x-rays and back scan and the second would be the review of the result. OK. No problem there. The staff were pleasant, polite and smiley. The office was nice, kinda like a spa. The first visit went as expected, I got x-rayed 5 times in the neck and throat area with the back scan (the same scan that the other practitioners would give you for free at the Farmer's Market.) The second visit probably last about 10 minutes. I was asked what my goal was and I was shown the graph of my back scan. OK, I got it. We need to fix that. BUT WAIT! Before we proceed, here's what the payment looks like. It would be $22xx or so for 24 treatments and if you pay full in advance there would be 7% discount. OR pay in 6 installments for $3xx with $3xx down payment. It seemed I couldn't breathe in there after that. This type of business is beyond my comprehension. I've been to chiropractors quite a few times in the past, they all start the treatment right from the first visit then you make another appointment and pay for each visit. You keep going until you feel better or stop when you don't. So I walked out of there feeling like a deflated balloon. Gone the $250 which could have paid for 3 sessions of physical therapy or something. I wanted to cry. Yes, my health is worth more than $2xxx but, not this way. I'm sorry that I cannot give you 5 stars. At least you are pretty straight forward about it and you people are very likable. read more

Wow, what a group of amazing, talented, caring and insightful people!!! April 27 2017 - My first appointment. I had called a few days prior anticipating talking to Lacey not having any idea how the office worked. To my surprise, Dr. Alex answers. A sweet sounding voice offering me to come in for a consultation. I walk through the doors and am taken aback for multiple reasons. One, wow she is beautiful & two she seems too young. I quickly found out how intelligent, passionate and professional she is. The attention to detail and excitement to figure out the human puzzle quickly made me realize she knows what she is doing. She sits me down and explains the process, I think to myself, "this is weird, I remember doing this with my massage patients and now I'm on the other side." She asked me multiple questions but one stuck out; "if everything works out the way I imagine, what do you want to get out of this?" I was a little confused by the question, so she explained....more energy, happier thoughts, more active, pain free. I said all of the above, smiling with hope and anticipation of a day without pain. She walks me through the consultation and sends me home with a packet full of information and a feeling I have never felt from a doctor; comfort and a sense that she is looking out for my honest well-being. I spent the next week going back and forth on committing to spend that kind of money on something I did not fully accept, as it is still "chiropractic" work. My experience with Dr. Lacey was not to my satisfaction. First, as a practicing chiropractor she does not take any insurances. Cash only. This should have been my first clue. And after she exposes you to numerous x-rays, she tells you that your condition or pain all stems from the neck and it will take several treatments to repair. All Cash treatments of course. As it turns out she only treats your neck, which takes all of 2 minutes, and then has you sit in a zero gravity chair for 15 minutes, at a Cash cost of $80-85 per treatment. And she requires that you pay up front for mutilple treatments, or she gets you to have payments automatically taken out of your checking or credit card. I finally woke up and went to my internist for the pain I was having, and i was diagnosed with arthritis in my neck and shoulder. And all Dr. Lacey was doing was pressing on my arthritic neck and telling me it was going to take more treatments before I was going to get results. Don't be taken in by her sweet and sympathetic exterior. She is a Cash Fox in sheep skin. Save your money. Go to a real Chiropractor. One that actually will bill your insurance for REAL treatments. read more

The Specific Chiropractic I met Shawn and Lacey in January 2012. Prior to contacting the Specific Chiropractic I was turned down by multiple Chiropractors because they were not interested in working on somebody with a cervical injury like myself. My primary care Physician recommended that I do not attempt to be adjusted and that my medical coverage would not cover seeing a Chiropractor anyway. In January 2012 I had spent the prior two years sleeping most nights in my wheelchair due to unregulated blood pressure. Most nights I would get only 1 to 2 hours of sleep and not necessarily in a row. I knew that I was not going to live much longer. This is because I have a serious case of hypotension. This means that my blood pressure drops to levels that are unable to sustain life. I started feeling symptoms in the fall of 2008. I've been diagnosed with autonomic neuropathy that the doctors "think" causes the hypotension. This diagnosis was given to me on February 3, 2009. From this point on I would only be treated with steroids and other drugs to bring up my blood pressure. This diagnosis is the medical profession telling me that they have no answer for the cause of my condition. This hypotension is basically a progressive problem which since the diagnosis I have gone from a quarter of a pill every other day of my steroid to 1.75 pills every day. If I had not met Shawn and Lacey I do not believe I would be alive today. They have released the innate and now I'm doing much better than I was in the beginning of 2012. My condition is so serious that it will take time to recover but I believe that Shawn and Lacey have set me on the path to healing. I rarely get out of bed to sleep in the wheelchair anymore. Yes, the hard cases are dealt with here; but so are ones that most people think are a result of some mystery or aging or whatever. Asthma, high blood pressure, arthritis, diabetes, digestive disorders, feminine organ dysfunction, migraine & other headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, vertigo, colds/flu, chronic pain, and on and on. Your body can heal from them. Heart disease (even if you haven't had your first symptom, which is a heart attack!), fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, Parkinson's, MS, and more ....oh yes, your body can heal from them. It's because this technique "turns on" a dysfunctional nervous system, which seems is common to most of us. Everyone's body/case is different, but this is where you'll have the best chance of dealing with any of these once and for all. I'm healing from CFIDS/FM; and I've seen a pile o' folks get rid of stuff that most doctors either don't know how to address, deal with through holistic methods which help but often don't heal, or just prescribe Rx drugs (or even surgery) for, which is utterly useless besides being toxic to one's body. Ouch...my back...my neck...my back and my neck. My wife and I have been going to the Specific Chiropractic Center for over a year now and are seeing very positive results. I have had lower back pain for nearly 15 years and now the pain has decreased significantly. I have also often had a stiff neck and now rarely feel any neck stiffness at all. My wife used to get headaches several times a week and now they are down to a few a month. We like both of our chiropractors Dr. Paige and Dr. Larry and feel that they are very professional and personable. They are such nice people we'd like to see them more often but as our treatment has continued we see them less and less. I first came here to get help for my eight year old daughter, who had suffered from chronic constipation (going to the bathroom once every 4-6 days with the help of an enema or Miralax) and digestive problems since she was an infant. As she approached elementary school, she lost her energy, became very lethargic, had stomach aches every day, ran chronic fevers for weeks at a time, and was covered in eczema. She had seen every doctor, GI specialist, naturopath and homeopath I could find, and had even done food withdrawals, yet we had very little relief and NO answers as to what was causing her sicknesses. She's someone that cares about you and her time with you. You never feel rushed or put out, she's just someone thats extremely passionate about what she does and how she can help people. I've never seen anyone enter nor exit her office unsatisfied. In fact, I hope to take my mother her one day to see how she can be helped, if everything is agreeable insurance wise.
