First of all let me say that I used to be extremely afraid to have any chiropractic work done. I had made up my mind that would never see a chiropractor. Luckily that fear is gone now. I was having severe tension in my neck and shoulders that eventually spread to my jaw, resulting in DAILY headaches and pain. The right side of my face and jaw became numb from the nerves being pinched. I walked around like this for nearly two years, taking pain medication to try to relieve it. Nothing, not massages, not ibuprofen, not ice, NOTHING worked. I was completely miserable. My husband started seeing Simon for back pain, and when he started to get better, I thought maybe there's someway Simon could help me that didn't involve adjustments. Dr. Kuang is freaking amazing!! I have been suffering with major nausea from clogged ear pressure that wont "pop" as well as some back pain from sitting at a desk all day with poor posture. I've been to the office 3 times and am happy to report that I no longer have to keep barf bags stocked in my car for when I drive to the store. Whatever voodoo magic he's doing to my neck is finally relieving some of that vertigo and pressure in my ears and my quality of life is getting back to normal. Thank God. This place deserve more than 5 stars but yelp limit me to only give it 5 stars :( I tried everything to fixed my lower back and my shoulder, I tried acupuncture, massage, cupping etc, nothing fixed my back till I found this gem! I have seen different chiropractors for the past ten years, and I can confidently say that Dr. Simon is one of the best choices. He is knowledgeable in the field and explains the process to newcomers. He listens to his patient's concerns and addresses them at the root cause, always going above and beyond. As someone who sits at the desk pretty much all day, I was really prone to lower back pains. I have tried strengthening my core which seemed to help a little bit until a few months ago, I suddenly had sciatica that lasted about a week and the pain was excruciating. I looked up some light stretches that relieved the pain momentarily but it was highly recommended that I see a chiropractor. I've only see a chiropractor once before when I was pretty young and I did not have a good experience and never wanted to go back. The thought of being adjusted by a chiropractor was always really scary to me because of the back and neck cracking but I knew I did not want to experience sciatica again. I had heard great things about Dr. Kuang so I decided to push down my fear and give seeing a chiropractor another try. Dr. Kuang was ready for me right at my scheduled time and asked some questions about what I had filled out in my patient form. I was expecting to go straight into getting my back and neck adjusted and was starting to feel really nervous but Dr. Kuang started off with showing me what he thinks is happening that had caused my sciatia and lower back pains with a cool 3D anatomy screen. He then tested my mobility and helped me stretch - which I learned was an Active Release Technique. He was able to pinpoint the exact spots I had experienced a lot of pain. There was some tightness while he stretched me out but I felt soooo good right after. Then came the time for spine adjustment that I was dreading but it turned out to be not so bad! It felt like Dr. Kuang could feel when my body was relaxed and ready for that crack and he always checked right after to make sure I was okay and if I need a moment before proceeding. Oh man -- I haven't seen a chiropractor in over 10 years! I came in with a super stiff neck (didn't know about it since it wasn't hurting but probably from all the computer work) and sciatica. After a neck crack, immediately can feel the difference in range of motion with my neck. Can't say enough good things about Simon. Highly recommend that if you're in pain, or just looking for some bodily maintenance come visit Simon. Already a believer in chiropractic and massage therapy I cannot believe how talented Simon is and how much relief he was able to give me. I had a light case of Achilles tendinitis that lasted about a week. As soon as I started feeling more able my knee was killing me. I could not bend my leg. I was practically bed ridden. For a solid week I I suffered through intense pain, used crutches to get anywhere and needed help to do even do the most basic of tasks. It seemed like I had patella tendinitis so I did not bother visiting a Dr/hospital. After a week of intense pain I decided to visit Simon. I walked in on crutches and was barely able to move around. Simon listened to my problems and after further testing diagnosed me with a typical case of patella tendinitis. What a relief it wasn't anything more major. Simon employed his Active Release Therapy techniques and within that first session we were already seeing greater flexibility. He then had me walk around the table unassisted. I couldn't believe his words but I was really walking! The increase in flexibility gave me instant relief. I was walking again, my freedom restored. He was ableto further diagnose that when I had Achilles tendinitis it modified the way I walk which placed more load in my thigh muscles, causing the patella tendinitis. **MIND BLOWN!** To be honest, I was a skeptic. I didn't think I had anything wrong me. I was totally wrong about that. Sure my upper back gets tight...must be bc I work out I told myself. I crack my lower back sometimes when I feel stiff... I'm old I figured. Dr. Kuang was able to quickly diagnose issues I didn't realize I had. He discovered that I couldn't turn my head to the right as far as I could to the left. After some other checks he goes something like "this is impinging on this, and this and that can cause headaches..." I said, "Whaaa...I get headaches almost every morning. I thought I just needed caffeine." My neck is busted. He showed me where I was having issues from my neck to my lower spine and not only made the adjustments with precision and proper intentional force, but offered solutions to what could be causing my problems. I had major sciatic nerve issues (along with the aches and pains from sitting at a desk all day) that caused the worst shooting pain in my lower back and down my leg. WOW---10 stars if I could! I suffered a back injury from years before and recently had an injury which I thought was a herniated disc (it felt like it), but after seeing Dr. Kuang and doing preliminary tests he assured me it wasn't! What a relief. Turns out it was muscle tightness and nerve compression. I love how he explained everything to me so that I understood completely what I experienced. He made me feel really comfortable throughout the whole process. After years of working from home and developing terrible migraines from incorrect posture, I was in the market for a trustworthy and knowledgeable chiropractor. I had adjustments in the past, but they were with chiropractors using prehistoric methods and drop tables. For myself, I didn't find this effective on my body, as I always felt myself tense up in anticipation for the "drop". During my initial visit, I was greeted by his beautiful and bubbly wife (fiancée at the time) Michelle, and their lovable chocolate lab, Kiloshi! Michelle was pleasant to speak with and led me to one of the rooms that contained a nice and clean set up of a desk, padded chiropractor table, and anatomical spine & femur model. The consultation with Dr. Kuang was informative, efficient, and easy to follow along. He used the anatomical spine & femur model to explain why I was feeling the pain I had. He wasn't condescending and admonishing, and listened to all my pain points with empathy. Dr. Kuang applies Active Release Technique (A.R.T.), massaging the muscles that helps him determine what needs to be adjusted. This allows for the adjustments to be more thorough, effective, and less painful for the patient. Based on the severity of the patient's pain points, Dr. Kuang typically suggest 2-3 visits per week. I fully believe that going 2 times a week has improved my health and well-being. The chronic migraines have essentially disappeared. Now Dr. Kuang and I can start targeting other pain points within my body that were overlooked because I had all my focus on said migraines. A typical appointment can run 15-20 minutes, depending on what needs to be adjusted and what streaming shows or life updates you have to share!
