I was really disappointed with my experience at the Speedway Club. I ordered the halibut (may have been sea bass, it was in a tomato based sauce which included spinach as the base of the dish) along with a side of spinach, and unfortunately, neither met expectations. The food wasn't served warm, and the spinach was extremely bitter--almost inedible. I ended up sending the dish back and trying the Cajun shrimp ravioli (the ravioli had cheese and spinach in them and shrimp was the protein mixed with the ravioli) instead, hoping for a better experience. Unfortunately, that dish missed the mark as well. It was overwhelmingly spicy--so much so that it took away from any enjoyment of the meal. I am not sure if these are regular menu items as this was on 02/13/26 so it could have been the Valentine's Day prefixed menu, no idea, but it wasn't a great meal. Overall, the quality and execution just weren't there, especially for a place with this kind of reputation. read more

The speedway club is now open to the public. It was a wonderful experience with a variety of dishes. We were at excited to come for our first time with the view of the track. They ran a martini espresso with two dollars off and it was a really great deal. The drinks were delicious and a good size. Mya was a server and she was so helpful with helping us select our choices. We were able to adjust the restaurant week. I try and get the tortellini and add the salmon for her recommendation and it was the best decision. The manager on duty Clifton was friendly and engaging and made sure our party of 5 had a great experience. The decor reflected the history of the race with familiar faces. read more

If you've never been to the Speedway Club, it is a throwback to another era of fine dining. It certainly not pretentious, but you can feel the history in the surroundings. The staff is well trained, although a few things were not disclosed to us tonight regarding up charges, hence the removal of a star. I was genuinely astounded by the quality of this place. Usually when there's some kind of a "gimmick" with a restaurant, like the great views of the track that the Speedway Club offers, there tends to be a drawback - usually food or drink quality/price suffers in exchange for getting a unique experience. The Speedway Club somehow has no drawbacks at all. The view of the track is amazing, and the food and drinks are delicious and very reasonably priced (and you get a LOT of food!). I went here with family for my birthday, and it exceeded everyone's expectations. My dad uses a power wheelchair, and it was not a problem at all for the Speedway Club - they were able to get us an easy table that didn't require any steps, and were also very helpful on the phone when I called ahead to ask about accessibility! The food was all fabulous, but a standout favorite was definitely the short rib - I would highly recommend anyone coming here for the first time to try it. I also loved the Burning Maple, a new fall drink - it's a delightful bourbon based drink with a perfect mix of bourbon flavor and sweetness from the maple. Our server, Aubrey, went above and beyond for us - she was incredibly attentive and kind, and SO helpful! I will absolutely be coming back in the near future - this was maybe the best restaurant experience I've had in Charlotte besides being proposed to. read more

Beautiful bar that is not crowded but provides full service. Spectacular view of the speedway. They were racing Cameros when I was there. Best lunch view anywhere near Charlotte. Burgers are tasty and filling. They had Potato ham soup the Friday I was there. Great taste. You get linen napkins and great service. It is hidden on the 6th floor of the speedway. This trip to the Speedway Club was to celebrate a birthday. The birthday boy was impressed and happy with the choice of venue. I ordered a 6oz filet mignon with a side of mac and cheese. I also ordered the red wine demi for an upcharge. The red wine demi added nothing to the steak. I wish I had not ordered it. The steak was good. The mac and cheese was okay. The dinner rolls were awesome. I tasted my son's blackened salmon. It was amazing. The lemon chicken breast was a good choice. I also tasted the side of Brussels sprouts. I wish I had ordered them! Our cocktails were really good. The bartender mixed the drinks strong. ALL of our drinks came out correctly. Our server was great at her job. We never wanted for anything. After spending the day in Charlotte, strolling through the NASCAR Hall of Fame and sim racing, the Buffalo Wild Wings attached to the HoF was not cutting it for me. I have friends with more NASCAR memorabilia than that BDubs. I decided to try my luck with the Speedway Club. After all, as a single person, I would be happy eating at the bar or just enjoying a drink there. The host was so kind and made sure I got a seat with a view even without a reservation. The server allowed me to try a few of the wines I was curious about, as I was impressed by their collection, which even had some famous drivers/team owners own brands. As a big fan of RCR and with the steak I ordered, I knew the Childress blend was right for me. The steak was so tender and juicy and it was cooked and seasoned just right. The mushrooms and risotto added a perfect balance to the meal, which was tied up perfectly by the cake at the end of the meal. Portions here are not stingey and everything tasted great. I wish they had a racing-themed cocktail menu, but that's just my own dream, haha. The view is what you really come here for. There was a mustang out practicing while I enjoyed the complimentary bread, but otherwise the track was quiet. The Outlaws dirt track was holding finals that evening, so that must be why. I could definitely hear them racing across the street. All in all, great experience and I highly recommend it to race fans looking for a unique, upscale experience! read more

It was so bad it brought tears. First the positives: the setting is elegant. The views are amazing. Our reserved table was ready with water already poured. The food was good. Not great but good. Then, a disaster began to unfold. To the bartender- look up "martini" and study how to make and serve it and other drinks in a timely manner. To the manager- find out why the drinks and food take so long to come out and fix it. Keep tabs on your waitstaff. Do not cram your guests into tables in one corner, especially when one table is loud and rowdy. To the waitstaff - when you make mistakes, a sincere apology and/or explanation goes a long way. No attitude or back talk please. The guests are not present to please you, it's the other way around. A group of us came to celebrate a very special occasion and it ended in tears. The drinks came out sporadically and one was undrinkable. The replacement was undrinkable. We were pushed several times to order food before the drinks had all been served. If we had known how long it would take the food to come out we might have ordered sooner. Maybe bring some bread without us having to ask for more while we wait. Bring enough wine glasses for everyone so we don't have to pour out our water glasses. Finally, some of our food came; the guest of honor received his food 15 minutes after everyone else. The medium-rare steak was rare. The whole experience was an extreme disappointment. We agreed it was the worst service ever experienced in decades of eating out all over the world. I did not demand to see the manager or to get anything for free, I just wanted the evening to be nice and it wasn't. Yes, the manager did come around. I suppose he got only the part of the story about the late entree. By that time I was in tears and didn't want to discuss it or make a scene. I just wanted to go home. A price adjustment was made and complimentary desserts were offered (mine was grocery- store-quality red velvet cake,) and when the bill for hundreds of dollars came, there was not even a pen to sign it. A wet pen was found at the bar after wandering around for a while (used to stir drinks?) Except for the company of good and good-natured friends, the whole experience was painful. Came here with my family tonight to celebrate a birthday, our reservation was for 11 and a toddler. The first red flag was that they split us up between two tables and when asked if we could move to one of the bigger tables to fit everyone, they told us that those tables are reserved (we were the only people in the restaurant, stayed until close, and no one sat at those tables once). The next red flag was how long it took us to get our drink and food order taken. When we finally did order our food, it didn't come out for almost an hour and a half (we got a bunch of steaks, which typically don't take THAT long). When the food did come out, not only were the fries cold, but three out of six steaks were well overcooked, and had to be sent back. After being sent back, it took another 40 minutes for the next steaks to come out. The server looked like she was sort of trying but I could tell she wasn't all there. I'm a server myself and tend to be very understanding and empathize with servers, but at the end of the day she had two tables and took 15 minutes to bring out a few sweet teas. However, at the end, she did help us out and give us a few discounts for the inconvenience, so that gets her some points back. Overall, not worth the price in any way shape or form. read more

Will Bunch and his staff are amazing and the chef has recently revamped the menu, it's fine dining for sure. Does he print or sign? The Club allows you to go to the 5th floor suites and watch. I think they bring drinks if needed. A $24 value included. It's a nice place. We had dinner last night at the speedway club in concord and it was pretty good! Our service was from Haley was great! We started off with Cesar salad and corn fritters with shrimp. For the main course I had the sirloin and potatoes and my husband had the grouper. The potatoes were so creamy and seasoned to perfection, and probably my favorite part. I was a little sad that the dessert portions were tiny, but honestly it was probably a good thing. I wouldn't have been able to stop. The chocolate cake was DELICIOUS! It started to pour right as we were leaving so we decided to stay and have another round of drinks. The staff was accommodating even though they were closing soon. Was inspired to try out the The Speedway Club after a friend shared pictures on Facebook about a retirement party she attended there, and mentioned how pleased she was with the ambiance, service, and food. Went there on what seemed to be a quiet Tuesday evening. My date and I each had the ribeye main course. Service was excellent - waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, and replied to my friend's questions about specific menu items with comments that other customers had shared. The feedback was helpful in guiding her selections. We were both very satisfied with our steaks - one medium well and the other medium. We are not comparing the meal to Morton's, Ruth Chris, or another premier steakhouse, but will say we were pleased at the Speedway's price range. Would highly recommend The Speedway Club for a nice night with a different special view, great service, and good food! read more

Absolutely beautiful venue with a spectacular view! As a die hard NASCAR fan, these places super excite me. We went with a large group so I didn't get to experience the full dining experience rather choose from 1 of 3 selected items. I got the crab stuffed salmon which was tasty and cooked just over medium to medium well. Others that surrounded me had a filet which appeared to be medium rare to medium and was told it was very good with a nice semi-glaze drizzle. The third item on the menu was a Caribbean jerk pork tenderloin. This was all the way over cooked and received negative review amongst everyone that ordered. I lost a bet, saying that it would be tender and juicy and was forced to eat the three dried out pieces from someone else's plate. The flavor was there but it was like chewing leather. All meals included a salad, and the main dish was served with bland mashers along with zucchini wrapped green beans that had little flavor. Cheeese cake and chocolate cake were served for desert and while I didn't partake, my fellow patrons seemed to enjoy. I had been meaning to come to this restaurant for the last 3 years! We came during Charlotte Restaurant Week so we were able to get a deal at $35 a person. I am not a Nascar fan but have been to the track for twice of those major race weekends. When we were there for dinner, there were not any races going on, which make getting there and leaving easier. GETTING TO THE RESTAURANT Park in the small lot where Bruton Smith Drive ends and crosses with Concord Parkway (route 29). We walked upstairs to the where the gift shop is. Don't go that entrance, you want walk from the parking lot under the overpass (bus drop off area) and walk in to what looks like an office lobby and find the elevator up to the restaurant. The restaurant is super classic inside with wood paneling and it is two tiered. The window to the track is huge so you see awesome views of the racetrack. Like I said earlier, I am not a Nascar fan and this place is still worth coming to. (See picture). We sat on the 2nd tier first table and still had amazing views. It reminded me of classic restaurants in the North East and not like your average Charlotte establishment. FOOD The food was excellent. I had the coconut shrimp appetizer and he had the mini beef wellingtons. We both had the NY Strip steak and their cake dessert of the day. The food was presented in a very traditional way and it tasted excellent. We took a quick look at their regular menu as saw the larger version of the NY strip steak for $47, so if you want to try this place out, coming for Restaurant Week is a great deal!! read more

A nice night with a different kind a view is what makes this place special. I would come here for a date night when you want to show some different sides of Charlotte/concord. I've been here a couple times, Borge with large groups. The service is usually pretty good and everybody is friendly and helpful. First time I came was on their crab leg and prime rib night which I believe are Friday's. It was pretty good. I mean we went in on unlimited amounts of delicious food. This past time was during restaurant week. The restaurant menu was ok, nothing spectacular. I do appreciate the option to swap the dessert course for a select drink! I ordered the caeser salad( nothing special) and the duck Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was delicious with a surprisingly hefty amount of duck in it. The part of my table that got prime rib was highly disappointed that no matter how they each ordered the temp differently of the steak they all got medium rare which disappointed them all. Nonetheless the staff handlers it well with their complaints. All in all the menu here can be somewhat lacking, especially for the price. In always had a special menu and I'm thankful for that because nothing on the regular menu seemed worth it. But you can't beat the elegant atmosphere and the magnificent view. read more

We had eaten here during restaurant week last year and really enjoyed the food and service. So when it came time to celebrate my father-in-laws 75th birthday, we thought this would be a great place. We had made a reservation weeks earlier for a group of twelve, but they split us into a table of 8 and a table of 4. Even though the restaurant was basically empty, and there were several options to relocate a table or two, and put us all together. We asked the waiter, and the hostess, and were told by both that they could not accommodate our group even though this had been reserved as a party of twelve. The table of 4 did not get the same level of service as the main table. We had to ask to get our drinks and bread refilled, and no one asked how the food was. The food was not as good as it had been during restaurant week, and my wife's salad was missing several of the items that had lead her to choose it. The restaurant has been sparsely populated both times, so I'm thinking the service during restaurant week may have been the outlier. I don't think we will try them again. read more

Came here for a work function. Our company booked it and didn't know that we were having the buffet. No worries I thought, it should be pretty good. Was pretty disappointed as ALL of the main options were fried (Fish, Shrimp and Chicken). I understand that we are in the south but at least have one option that isn't crispy. Well as a disclaimer, I'm not a huge fan of NASCAR by any means. Yeah I live in Charlotte but still very much a misplaced northerner in these regards. It's fun to go to a race, sure, but I can't really get into watching a car drive around in circles for 600 laps, especially without alcohol or watching it on TV! Yikes! So with the Speedway Club, it's nothing personal, I just already wasn't a fan of a restaurant built inside a speedway. I probably would have never known it was even there until I was recently asked for my opinion on where the office Christmas party was to be held, and given a few choices between here and uptown, I said, jokingly of course, "Oh the most expensive. Absolutely." As such, we wound up here. Let me touch on that first. This is definitely not a place for the tight walleted. Just look at the online menu. Now again, as I didn't pay for anything myself, let's just say my rating is a little skewed. You are by far paying for the experience/ atmosphere. Simply put, if you're a fan of NASCAR and go in expecting to shell out that kind of money, I'm sure you will enjoy yourself. The food quality was very good. Secondary to food, I had a lot of drinks while we were there. Too many drinks. Great selections of beer, wine, and liquor. Hell, they even had moonshine for all you classy rednecks. Surprisingly, most beers were modestly priced at $4.50, and most glasses of wine were $6. Service was very good. No complaints whatsoever. The overall atmosphere was the ultimate pro. Very well decorated interior. Windows everywhere to look down at the track. Especially during December, you have all the Christmas lights done up for people to drive through.
