I'll start with the pros: It's a nice, chill spot to relax and the vibe is cool. The flavor of the…read morehookah I had was nice and fruity (forgot the name of it). Disclaimer: Please keep in mind there was a total of 7 other patrons in the Building during my visit. It's sad to say that this establishment falls in line with the rest of the Black owned establishments in Charlotte with poor customer service. My visit started off ok with the customer service and then it went nonexistent. Let's start with the "Cockotail" menu. Yes, the word cocktail is incorrectly spelled on the menu --and this was not intentional. PLEASE RUN THE SPELL CHECK AND UPDATE THIS PLEASE!! It's embarrassing ! I came here on a Friday night during the finals, and I ordered drinks and hookah. There was an issue with our hookah not pulling, so we asked the bartender if they could look into it. Five to ten minutes go by, no one comes by to assist. The wait time would've been acceptable if there were a lot of people in the place, but it wasn't. I went back to the bar and had to remind the bartender to please check on the hookah. They finally came over and then returned the hookah about another 10 minutes later and the hookah issue was resolved. My guest ordered one drink and it came out in a decent amount of time. We ordered a second drink and we were told that they would bring it right out. We literally watched the bartender with the curly hair sitting down to talk with another patron and she NEVER brought the drink. At that point, we were irritated because I'm not going to keep on reminding someone to do their job, especially when it is slow. I am so appreciative that a man paid for our bill because I was most certainly going to have a conversation with the manager due to the lack of customer service. If the service was this poor on a slow night, don't bother wasting your time going in when place is packed. I'm not sure if this place is new, but they have some kinks to work out because it makes NO SENSE as to why you are paying for customer service that you cannot get. It is so irritating that you can't go anywhere these days and not have some type of issue when you go out. The purpose of going out is to relax and have a good time, not to be irritated your entire visit. I could've stayed home and saved money. Unfortunately, returning here is not on the top of my priority list. My best advice is to stand at the bar and watch them make your drink or bring your hookah so you can guarantee that you get your items in a timely manner.

We arrived at 10 p.m., and I was gone by 11:30 p.m. In that time, we only got hookah. The drinks never came. The booth size was absurd, so other customers kept asking if they could take a seat because there was nowhere else to sit. I'm sure not every group payed for a booth because everyone in there was sitting down. By about 11 p.m., the scene was still dead, and the vibe was non-existent. I spoke to a hookah girl and asked for a refund because this place was just not worth it. They had to call the manager and he said I wouldn't be charged, and free to go. I waited to write this post to see what the outcome would be because I ended up being charged and ended up having to file a complaint with my bank. I had no receipts, and the manager stopped responding after he agreed to meet me to fix the matter. I was scammed $300 by this place, and it wasn't worth the headache. Drinks were nonexistent, and the service was slow. Experience Trash.

It was completely unnecessary, aggressive, and honestly humiliating. During the incident one of the guards had his arm around my neck to the point where I couldn't breathe and my necklace was ripped off in the process. At no point did anyone try to calmly speak to me or explain what the issue was. Being handled by multiple security guards like that felt excessive and unprofessional, especially in a place that's supposed to be about having a good time. Instead of basic communication, the situation immediately escalated to physical force. I would strongly caution anyone thinking about going here. A night out shouldn't end with you being physically dragged out by security with no explanation. There are plenty of lounges in the city that treat their guests with far more respect.

He came over and my niece share that she did not the like the meal and wanted to order something else. he immediately became annoyed and said that she will still need to pay for the original meal in addition to the new meal. He was not trying to hear her out and started to become a bit combative. he said you "you took more than one bite." my niece stated " I took two spoonfuls to taste it. how can you gauge what I ate." He again became combative and was mot interested in "Making it right" and demanded that she still pay for the food. Again, I've been here two times before and love it. however, if this is the way you are going to treat your paying customers I will not return. Management needs to work on their presentation and how they handle their customers. We don't feel valued or welcome after this experience.

The customer service was actually pretty good, too; however, unfortunately, due to the crowd, I would not go back. As a woman in my late thirties, I simply cannot take the club culture. I wasn't informed that it was giving TRAP nightclub vibes before I went. My friend described it as a sports bar. I stayed to enjoy quality time with her, but no... You can't bring or chew chewing gum in there - that tells you a lot. Also, upon entering, there were a group of girls discussing keying someone's car bc they saw an ex's car in the parking lot. I felt like I had to be on guard walking through bc most people were mean-mugging. There wasn't much joy in there. Additionally, I saw at least two men rolling blunts. The venue is beautiful, but the crowd is a major deterrent.

In my personal opinion this place is good for drinks , photo ops & hookah if you're into that . Me personally I no longer do hookah but a few of my friends ordered one. The food was ok I would describe it as glorified bar food . We were all a little disappointed in the actual food . It's super cute inside & definitely a great place during the day to hang out with friends to take pics & grab drinks . Side note : If you go , arrive early between the times of 6-9pm , I purposely went around that time frame because I knew they stopped serving food at a certain time , & after 10 the crowd changes & it becomes more of a party scene & younger crowd . So with that being said I was in & out . Arrived at 7 left by 9 . Genius for bringing food & drinks in together with the selfie museum .

Overall though, I love the pairing of the whiting and the grits. Scrambled Eggs $5 Eggs are eggs.... I mean you can't really mess up scrambled eggs. Don't really know what to say about scrambled eggs. The presentation was good. They wasn't dry, they wasn't runny, tastes like homemade scrambled eggs. The young man working tonight is representing you all as the face of your business, and he did a horrendous job. One of the worst attitudes I've ever some across and if ppl are going for true Chicago authenticity, he's definitely got it. Thought I was ordering Italian Fiesta off 71st (IYKYK). If buddy doesn't want to work there, yall should let him go. If it weren't for the fact I desparately wanted a taste of home, I would've walked out and not made an order at all. Businesses thrive thru word of mouth, and he is the type to get the wrong mouths speaking. I got a better welcome and hospitality from the DJ, and that's an insane statement to have to make. As a fellow Chicagoan, I was super excited about this place - didn't even look at reviews because I only trust the palate of fellow Chicagoans. I walked in and stood at the register at the "wait to be seated" sign, and behind it was a young man wrapping silverware. This man looked at me come in (we made eye contact, check your cameras) and still made me wait SEVERAL MINUTES until HE WAS READY to speak. He walks over and literally whispers "You wna place an order?" That's it. Just like that. Theres a DJ literally right behind us at the entrance so I asked him to repeat what he said and leaned in closer to hear him. He whispered it again and I had to lean in closer to hear him. Every single question he asked, he whispered it knowing full well I could not hear him and he made ZERO EFFORT to pipe up. I was damn near behind the register with how far I had to lean in to hear him. It was absolutely without a doubt intentional. What an attitude. Wow. I place my order and see yall charge a 15% gratuity for take out orders. That's insane. Food was decent but yall are cheap on the mild sauce. I had a little bit on my chicken (not even covering it), and none on the fries. HUH???? Yall want ppl to come back and tell their friends about this place, right? Cuz it doesn't seem like it. PUT THE MILD SAUCE ON THE FRIES. As aforementioned, if that young man does not want to work there, then yall need to let him go. He is not a good representation of your business, as the rest of your staff was incredibly nice. Not every person he encounters will be from the Carolinas and carry that southern hospitality with them. It took everything in my soul to not act up in yall's beautiful restaurant, but his behavior is totally unacceptable. Disgusting, truly. I'm gna change my profile picture on here because I'll be back for the pizza puff, and I want him to know it was me who did this review.

Unfortunately, they appeared to have been cooked in old grease, which negatively affected the taste. When I informed the server about the issue and asked if the item could be removed from the bill, the server spoke with the manager. However, the manager never came to our table to address the concern, even though they had previously stopped by to refill our water glasses. The server later advised that a discount would be applied. When the check arrived, the discount was only about $2 and change off a $13.99 order. Considering the issue with the food and the lack of management involvement, I was disappointed with how the situation was handled. Overall, I was not impressed with the customer service and expected a better response to a legitimate concern about the food quality.

My first visit was on January 9th for a birthday celebration. I had the wings (which were excellent), hookah, and truly enjoyed the atmosphere. The environment was relaxed, the aesthetics were nice, and everything about that evening felt smooth and enjoyable. My ticket clearly reflected my purchases, I paid my tab, added a tip, and my bank statement matched exactly what I authorized. Because I enjoyed my first visit so much, I returned on January 18th with a friend. We both ordered hookah; I had food, and she had drinks. When I closed out my tab, everything appeared normal--I paid and tipped as usual. However, the following morning when I reviewed my bank statement, I noticed that gratuity had been added after the fact, which I did not see or authorize at the time I paid. I reached out to my friend, and she confirmed that gratuity was also added to her tab, though she did not realize it at the time. I returned to the lounge once they reopened and spoke directly with the owner. He explained that gratuity is sometimes added and that he leaves it up to the individual server to decide whether or not to apply it. I explained that gratuity had not been added during my visit on January 9th, and that this issue only occurred on January 18th. While the explanation suggested that gratuity should have been applied, the concern was that it appeared to be added after I had already paid my tab, without upfront notice. To his credit, the owner did address the issue and refunded the gratuity. That said, the lack of clarity around gratuity policies raised an eyebrow for me. As a patron, I believe it's important to be informed upfront whether gratuity is automatically added, applied selectively, or left to the discretion of the server--especially when payment is finalized electronically. Outside of this issue, the lounge itself is enjoyable. The food was good, the hookah was solid, the atmosphere was chill, and the overall vibe was welcoming. My only concern was the handling and communication around billing and gratuity. Clear, consistent policies would go a long way in making an already good experience even better.
