The young man on the phone said okay, no problem. I walk in 5 minutes later and there's already a bag waiting. I asked where they came from and she told me they were cooked that morning. That was an immediate no for me. If I'm spending $21 for a pound, I don't want tough, sitting all day cracklings. Go ahead and put those back. I ended up trying the boudin balls, big mistake. You could tell they had been sitting too. At that point, I didn't even have the energy to go back and forth or ask for a manager. Honestly, it should be a given. When I asked about it, I was informed that they were out of large buns... but were still charging for a large sandwich anyway. Bold business move. Visionary, even. But wait--it gets better. Or worse. Definitely worse. This "BBQ" sandwich came with absolutely no BBQ sauce. None. Not on the sandwich, not in the container, not even a lonely packet hiding in the bag like a last-minute apology. The result? Dry meat performing a dramatic escape from the undersized bun with every bite. It was less a sandwich and more a slow-motion landslide. By the end, I wasn't eating BBQ--I was participating in a meat evacuation drill. Needless to say, Podnuhs has officially lost a customer.
