Check in was quick (you can do check in online or on your phone ahead of time). The receptionists were very sweet and attentive to my daughter. They let her brush the crocodiles teeth while waiting. We got called back promptly and both the dentist and dental hygienist were so sweet. They answered all my questions thoroughly and were both very patient with my daughter who was at first a little nervous and scared. They did a great job making her feel comfortable and we look forward to our next visit.

The anesthesia team they work with is top-notch, knowledgeable, and made us feel completely at ease. Dr. Arora has been wonderful with both of my kids during consultations--kind, patient, and thorough. A special shout-out to Dr. Truong, who performed my daughter's dental surgery. He truly turned my daughter's life around with her teeth, and we are so grateful. We absolutely love this place and will continue coming here for all of our kids' dental and orthodontic needs. She has sensory issues, a very sensitive gag reflex and active tongue. I requested the quiet room, where with the use of the gas they were able to get full X-rays for the first time (age 9), and completed some necessary dental work, all with a smiling child afterwards. I would highly recommend this office. The office staff is wonderful, all the assistants and Dr. Randolph is amazing. If you have a child with special needs, they will do everything in their power to make it the best experience possible.

Although the age appropriate communication from the physician was not great, the girls were happy. It was the last 2 visits that were horrifying from both the Dental Tech and the Doctor himself. We were the last patient of the day, they had called earlier to ask if we could change the time (no, due to work). Once we were there we were rushed, and the girls (5 yo) spoke of it after. My girls sadly required fillings - oops on mom and dad... When I took the first one, wow was I appalled, demeaned, disrespected, and overall taken back with the poor patient-focused care. The doctor was telling my daughter you're not hurt, I'm not even touching you, there is no pain, you need to breathe through your nose. This is not exaggeration; this is word for word call out. The doctor turned to me after failing the procedure to attempt a disrespectful education. The physician needs education on how to speak with children who are experiencing a traumatic event (there is age-appropriate communication techniques for age groups). Do not take your children to this doctor. There are much better options. The only good comment I can give is the RDA that was there to assist with the filling that day was compassionate, kind, and very age-appropriate with my daughter. I have an acute-care nursing background of 15 years and understand patient-focused care, now in leadership. Do not recommend at all.

We have had a great experience with her as their dentist, which makes this situation especially disappointing. We recently received a bill for a cleaning that was dated back to December 2022. Because we had dental insurance coverage at the time, I immediately contacted the office and our insurance company to find out why we were receiving a bill so many years later. After speaking with our insurance company, I learned that Kids Care Dental had never submitted the claim to insurance. Because so much time had passed, the insurance company would no longer process the claim. I made multiple attempts to resolve this issue, both over the phone and in person. Unfortunately, I could never get a clear answer or a resolution. I ultimately refused to pay the bill because this was not an error on our part. We had insurance coverage, and the claim was never submitted by the dental office. Despite my repeated attempts to resolve the situation, Kids Care Dental eventually sent the bill to collections. That was extremely frustrating and, in my opinion, completely unfair. We did everything we were supposed to do as patients and had insurance coverage at the time of service. I don't feel we should be responsible for a bill that resulted from the office failing to submit the claim in a timely manner. The customer service throughout this process was also extremely disappointing. When you call, you are directed to a call center, and the representatives often don't seem to have the information or ability to actually resolve the issue. I made multiple attempts to get help and repeatedly felt like I was getting nowhere. It is unfortunate because we truly loved Dr. Shaw and had a positive experience with her as our children's dentist. However, the way this billing issue was handled, the lack of communication, and ultimately sending the bill to collections when the issue was not caused by us led us to leave the practice. I hope the office takes situations like this more seriously in the future, especially when insurance claims are involved. Patients should not be held responsible for an office's failure to submit a claim on time.
