Went to this nail salon last Friday, July 1st! You walk in there and there is a very strong smell of acrylic You don't even get to look at the color samples on the wall, your handed a book and a ring of nail colors when you sit down. I got a gel mani and a reg pedi. Sitting down getting the pedi, I couldn't see the swatches, very dark in there. I picked a light gray white for the matching gel mani and pedi! She was done with the pedi and she went to go put the color on my toes and it isn't even the color on the swatch. She claimed it was. So I had to change my color. After I got a gel mani. Everything went wrong.(after I told her 4times I was getting a gel mani and it was said when the appt was made!) she soaked my nails in a water bowl, cut every single cuticle on all my fingers(cuticle happy) she than proceeded to tell me to wash my hands, which I know doesn't work well with my nails. If I could give zero stars I would. Today, I went to get my nails done, made an appointment beforehand, and promply sat there for nearly 15 minutes before I was acknowledged. I told them I only had an hour (on my lunch break) and I was in a hurry. The person doing my nails proceeded to file my nails with such vigor that I started to bleed. When I asked him to please ease up, he told me to go to another salon and walked away with my nails half done! (Remember, I'm on my lunch break!) So, I walked out with half done nails, took a breath, walked back in and asked someone else to complete the awful job he started. I have frequented here for a while and I find myself coming back. I've always gone to Kevin who does a great job on my nails. I usually call to make my appointments but Kevin gave me his number and told me to just text him for my appointments. Unfortunately I texted him 3 days ago for an appointment for today and he got back to me and said he would let me know the following day, I never heard from him and he then texted me today and said he is booked and to come in the next day. I wasn't a fan of the idea so I went elsewhere but will be coming back to Kevin again. I went in to the salon today for a manicure and pedicure. I called before going to make sure they would be able to take me because it was Saturday morning. They said no problem at all Except it clearly WAS a problem. I got there with only one person waiting before me. Someone else came in after and went right away, so I assumed they had an appointment. After about 15 minutes, I was escorted to a chair. I didn't mind the wait. They were busy. What I did mind was what happened next. The woman came over and set up. As she was about to begin, a woman walked in to the shop. The woman who was going to give me a pedicure told me that the new person who had just walked in was her client and she would take her first! So she left to set up for this other person who just walked into the store. I'm sure they have a regular rapport, but I felt this was a terrible way to treat someone. Not to mention this was my only hour to myself as I just had a baby and was supposed to be enjoying a moment to myself. I ended up leaving because I felt so frustrated, disappointed, and disrespected. As I left, the shop manager never bothered to try and stop me even though I was clearly upset. I went to a salon in Oakdale instead. Just as busy, but I was helped right away and treated much kinder. read more

Went there today. Had an appointment with Nikki, who usually does my nails. She was 20 minutes late for my appointment and was very rude to me off the bat. When she started my color I decided I didn't like it and wanted to go with a similar color but darker( she just started, my nails were not done when I decided this) right away she started yelling at me saying I'm "too picky" and I explained to her that I pay good money to get my nails done and I want to leave here happy. After all I'm the one that has to stare at my nails for two weeks , not you. But she kept coming back at me , arguing. It was very disrespectful and I was even nice and still tipped her 10 $ after she spoke to me like this , but I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK THERE. no one at the nail salon intervene , no management or owner nothing. Have given this place a few tries. Got a regular pedicure twice, both times started chipping within 3 days (noticeable, not just a tiny nick) and my friend had experienced the same. Got a gel manicure and was spoken to so rudely by the men doing my nails 'just pick a color!!!' When I asked for light pink, not shear. I wanted to just walk out, so nerving when it should have been relaxing. Took my nails out of the UV box and he rubbed the alcohol on them and sent me on my way. No lotion or cuticle oil at all. I follow their Instagram, so I know they can do nail art. I went in Saturday with pictures of buffalo plaid nail design-they told me they could do it. One of the ladies even watched video how they did it. Well-they could not do it. Horrible. Not impressed at all. Very unfortunate experience. I called and asked for full set acrylic nail price with gel polish. I was told $45. Not too bad so I agreed. I'm not sure what this lady's name is but she was the most roughest nail tech to ever do my nails. Kept clipping me with the E-File, kept repeating "you have short nail beds for these long nails" I understand I have short nail beds you don't need to keep repeating it. Not only did she cut my skin and made me bleed but she completely left bits and chunks of acrylic on my SKIN!!! When I went to go pay she said $50! I told her for what reason was there a $5 extra charge since I was told $45. She said because I asked for "Long" nails. I'm the queen of long nails and this was NOT long. The $5 extra was uncalled for. Needless to say I WILL not come back and not recommend. I recently decided to try The Spot Nail Bar as it is closer to my house. Very nice atmosphere. Clean. Friendly & professional. The tech listened to what I wanted and gave me better results than I had initially expected. I came here for the first time THREE days ago and my gel powder nail already broke. So naturally i went back to get it fixed because I spent well over $70, and I was baffled by the staffs response. They were rude and refused to help me until next WEEK claiming they're "booked" which is absurd considering fixing a singular nail takes about ten minutes and I paid good money to get them done. I went there for the first time two weeks ago. They have great reviews and I have some friends that go there that like it, so when I need it to have my nails done for an upcoming events it seems to be the best place to go. While there are other places closer to my house, I went in there on a weekday afternoon with a picture of what I would like and asked for both nail and pedicure services. I was able to begin my service within 10 minutes and showed the woman doing my nails the photo of what I would like when I was finished. She decided that a set of gel tips would do the trick, even though my natural nails were reasonably long, and the picture I brought with me had short nails which is what I had desired at the end. During the entire time I was having my nails done I had to keep asking her to make the length shorter, which at the end did not happen. In addition despite the fact that I had brought a picture it was very challenging dealing with her to get the color correct. The nail technician pretty much did whatever she wanted with no regard for the services I had asked to have. I was not happy with the end result of my nail services because the gelcoat was terribly thick and the sheep was not what I had asked for. thankfully they forgot about my pedicure and someone else was assigned to do it when the next chair was free. I will say that the person that did the pedicure did a much better job and at least provided the services that I asked for. The place was clean and presentable, I felt that the services were reasonably price, though this is not a place I would return to based on my experience. read more

So I went to this place twice the first time I wasn't thrilled but I figured I would try someone else and give it a second try. My experience was beyond horrible. I came with 2 friends my one friend was sent into tears due to her nail tech trying to pry her nail off with a fake nail instead of soaking it .. upon doing that he cut her and made her bleed. She proceeded to tell him that it hurt too much and to just leave that finger alone and with that came an attitude as if she was annoying him so he continued to try and take her nail off until she had had enough and told him not to touch it again. My other friend was trying to tell her nail tech that her nail was crooked and the woman told her that it wasn't and she was just seeing things. She must of asked her to fix it like 5 times before the woman even attempted to make it straight .. the last time I had gone to that woman I had asked her to make my shape more pointy and she told me no they are pointy enough .. the children were literally running around and screaming as if it was a park and the mother who owns the place did absolutely nothing to get her children to calm down. I work in a beauty salon and my boss would NEVER allow her children to run around in that way. When we waited for our friend to finish at the drying station we met a woman who asked us how long we had been coming there and we told her it was only our second time and that we would never be back and she agreed and couldn't understand why someone would allow there kids to behave that way in a professional environment. As we made our way to the front to pay the desk was covered in food where the children were eating there lunch .. I made an attempt to reach the owner through a private Facebook message and tell her why we had such an bad experience and why we weren't coming back and got no response. If I could give no stars even negative stars it would better describe my experience at the Spot Nail Bar! My first visit and it started off nice the place is very clean lots of staff. I just wanted a regular manicure and when they had me pick a color it was from the gel collection. When she brought the polish out and it stated clearly on the bottle for gel only i should have known better. Well one hour and 4 coats later I'm left with a streaky mess! I asked her to take the polish off and just paint clear. That even looked terrible! I told the owner and the girl at the front desk charged me $15 for what! To piss me off! Not to mention I go to nail salon and all beauty places to relax not to listen to babies crying....little Frankie was cranky! Well maybe you should have left him home! Instead I got to listen to baby shark and nursery rhymes over and over for an hour. Terrible experience will never go back and I do not recommend this nail salon to anyone! read more

The only reason I'm giving one star is because I can't give zero. First of all I had an appointment for 130 and they made me wait 40 minutes to get my nails done I was getting an acrylic fill in with gel color and a hand design. When I asked the guy to cut my cuticles he refused and said that it's not something they do with acrylics meanwhile I have had this done before at dozens of nail salons he said if I was getting a manicure sure then he would cut my cuticles. I fail to see what difference it makes and regardless all I am asking you to do is trim my cuticles there is no reason why it can't be done so I then told the shop owner what was happening and her and my nail technician who's name was Chun or John or something like that we're both willing to let me walk out over having my cuticles cut. He simply refused and she did not offer any resolution at all. Absolutely disgusting customer service. Please stop supporting this business. read more

Absolutely the WORST experience I've ever had at a nail salon. Upon arriving, I was thrown in a chair, able to look through the gel colors for about 3 minutes before she shoved my hand to soak and started pulling colors for me forcing me to pick something she wanted quick, not what I was looking for. Mind you, I spent the next FOURTY FIVE minutes soaking, plenty of time to pick my own color. I had gel powder on my nails previously and she had NO patience taking it off. She took an acrylic nail tip and the cuticle cutter and TORE the old gel off. She just kept pushing under the gel, tearing my real nail, causing extreme discomfort, pain and me to bleed. As I tried to pull away, she pulled my finger harder and closer to her until she finally ripped a large chunk of my nail off and I ripped my hand back and aggressively told her that nail wasn't going to be ripped off any more. When she realized there was blood SHE TOOK NAIL GLUE TO COVER IT. She got very short and impatient with me as if her inabilities were my fault. She had an attitude the ENTIRE time and had absolutely no regard for my pain or what my nails came out looking like. I would NEVER go back here nor would I suggest wasting your money on such poor quality nail technicians. The furthest thing from a relaxing experience for sure. read more
