I brought my family -- myself, my daughter, two granddaughters, and my husband -- to Time to Get Nails & Spa for manicures and pedicures. We spent a lot of money for what was supposed to be a relaxing, enjoyable experience. Instead, it was completely ruined when 4 different technicians actually demanded a tip before we even left. I found this behavior extremely rude, inappropriate, and insulting. I always tip generously in cash once everyone's service is done, but being hounded for money on the spot was unacceptable. When I spoke to the manager, I was told that "they work for tips," as if that somehow excuses such behavior. It doesn't. After spending hundreds of dollars, the last thing I expected was to be pressured and embarrassed in front of my family and other patrons. The lack of professionalism and respect was truly disappointing. I will not be returning, and I strongly urge management to train their staff on proper customer service and etiquette. read more

I had a Lavender pedicure and a gel Polish manicure. Both were fine, with a 10 minute leg massage and the option for a neck massage. The ladies were very efficient and do such good work. The services were a little pricey ($75), but overall, worth the visit. The place is a little worn and could use an update, but it was tidy and the workers wear masks and the soaking bowls have removable plastic liners and they use new emery boards and buff bars for each customer. read more

0 stars!!! Completely disrespected! I came in for my appointment with Karen. I showed her a picture of the nail color + design I wanted. I asked her if she was able to do the design and she said yes, no problem(with confidence). It came down to doing the design on the picture and it didn't match the photo. I politely asked if we could fix it and Karen became upset and annoyed. She attempted again and it looked worse. I was honest and told her it didn't match the photo. Karen's response: "I can't do it!!! I won't do it!" She became upset and annoyed at me. She didn't offer a solution or another design option she felt she could do on my nail. The rest of the appointment was completely rushed and felt awkward and uncomfortable she wouldn't talk to me or look at me. She didn't even finish my nail treatment and gave me to someone else to do my hand lotion/ massage and hot towel. The salon charged me $10 for a design I did NOT want. I went to leave a tip for Karen on her work station and let her know where I was leaving it and her response was "mhm" and wouldn't look at me. I was completely disrespected and had a TERRIBLE experience. I could have left her no tip and chose to do the right thing! I called the salon to speak with the owner. A man named Steve picked up the phone. He said he is the person you'd speak to for complaints. I told him my experience and how uncomfortable and disrespected I felt. I asked for him to void my credit card payment and he refused. His response was "Karen tries the best she can. If she can't do it she can't do it." I replied: "okay so if a client is disrespected and felt uncomfortable by a nail tech and didn't get what they asked for, they should pay for the service?". Steve was quiet. I told Steve I don't live in NY and don't plan to come back and would like my money back. He refused to give it to me. I don't even think Steve is the owner or manager. Me and my sister thoroughly enjoyed this recommended salon. Did not know what to expect... like how popular it is!! We booked spa pedicures for 2, we weren't sat next to each other which was a little disappointing to say the least and we did try not to talk over the woman seated between us!! But the polish (reg.) and spa pedicures were great! Would def go again when I visit either of my sisters... but would clarify chairs next to each other for sure. read more

I stumbled into this nail salon based on the reviews I read, I figured I will give it a shot, this was by far one of the best manicures I ever had. I always have a complaint, so let me give you the one complaint I had. There was a woman that cleaned my nails and she cut too deep, I told her one of my nails was irritated and it seems she told the owner to continue my nails, so I wanted to see what he could do. They also need more colors but they can easily fix that. The good part. The owner did an excellent job, I wish I got his name. It was my first time getting SNS and he slayed my nails. He explained the process, how to maintain them and remove them when the time came. He fixed every little thing I noticed on my nails, and didnt notice, he made sure to give me 5 star service and I was more pleased. I got a free back massage, hand massage and hand wax mask treatment that made my hands feel soft and amazing. This place is clean and I will definitely be returning. read more

This place takes advantage of children!!! This place is not honest and upfront. Girls are so excited to get their nails done for a special occasion and their parents end up angry and miserable about what should have been a fun and exciting experience! They are told one price then all of a sudden the price goes up $15! They do this wether their parents are there or not. DO NOT go to Time To Get Nail! When my child told me about this, they offered to take off the ombre and refund the money which is ridiculous! She said she couldn't understand what they were explaining. All she understood was that it was $90 not the quoted $75 (although the day before when I called for a price they said $55!) and then she was told she had to tip!!! Unbelievable! Haven't been here since before the pandemic but I really should go back! First off, hands down the cleanest salon I've been to. I get a nice warm feeling seeing that the tools and foot baths get cleaned between appointments. Mary gives one HELL of a foot massage and Wayne is extremely analytical of his work. I had powder gel manicures done by him and when I say it was PERFECT... I mean perfect. I'm OCD when it comes to symmetry and he really did an A+ job. The prices are fair for the service, but the service is fantastic and worthy of a great tip. They also offer a free 10 minute massage with mani/pedi, which they do when you sit down for your finger nails. I don't know the name of the man who does the massages, but he sure makes you feel like a whole new woman. It's hard to say no to another 10 minutes for $10. I was excited about this salon based on its reviews, and I wish I could concur with what many others believe is a great nail salon. The salon was very busy when I arrived on a Saturday morning. I chose a regular pedicure and an SNS dip powder manicure. My first major issue was cleanliness. While they do use the large plastic covers inside the pedicure tubs, they did not once clean the actual tubs in between pedicures. The use of the plastic cover does not negate the need to clean in between. I watched the workers place their tools into a small plastic sanitizing box at each station, but they did not close the boxes to sanitize them in between clients. They simply placed them on the top portion of the boxes, never closing them to allow the tools to become submerged at all in the solution. I actually stopped and asked for her to clean the cuticle cutter because I could visibly see someone else's cuticles still left on the tool. They used small, ripped washcloth rags as the towels for your feet/hands which I also questioned if they were cleaned because they were damp and cold, quite unlike the type of spa experience anyone wishes for. The pedicure came out decent, and the massage was strong and felt great. My dip manicure has been very disappointing. After just a couple days, three of my nails have broken and chipped in the corners, where it seems the dip powder was applied very thinly. This is quite the opposite from the experience I've had at other local places where the dip lasts me three weeks with zero issues! I will definitely not be going back, mainly because of the cleanliness factor but also because I could receive such a far superior experience at other local places. read more

It's a shame I really wanted to like this place, third time here and I decided to get a marble nail design as advertised on their selections. They charge $10 more for it, I did SNS and then they use polish for the marble. They struggled to do the design many times, from a distance I was fine with it because I was going to be late for work. Well I'm now really looking at them and they are no where near what marble should look like. I'm so annoyed because I paid a decent amount of money. This place exceeded my expectations by far! I got a gel manicure by Steven. It was $25 which is pretty average for gel manicures in the area, but this gel manicure included a free 15 minute massage (in addition to the usual massage you get while your nails are drying) and a paraffin wax dip for your hands! Steven was really careful to make sure everything came out perfect and my nails look better than they have in a very very long time! Steven also told me if anything happens to my nails within two weeks I can go back and they will fix it! Amazing!! Everything was very clean and sanitary. They also gave me a card for a free manicure after 10 and a sheet with coupons for free manicures (with pedicure) and money off. Please give this place a chance, we need to get them busy so they around for a while! I moved to Oakdale over a year ago and I have not found nail salon I was pleased with until now. While I was sitting there a woman came in for a pedicure and was disappointed that they did not have weekday specials (which I can totally understand). However, if the pedicure is anywhere near as great as the gel manicure it is worth the extra $5. Please read the review fully to understand why it is 2 stars. When I went in there, looking for a set of acrylics to be done, they said they didn't do acrylics, they did gel nails. Okay. No problem. I let Anna start applying the gel nails and they literally all stood up off my nail beds at about a 30 degree angle. There was NO way I was leaving with my nails doing that. I asked her to please remove all the nails, which she did immediately. However, in doing so, she also cut my natural nails off with them, leaving them extremely short. My pinky nails were practically gone. I told her just do a manicure on what you left me with and let me get out of here. Now, she was very apologetic, very sweet, very nice and very accommodating. She did a nice manicure of whatever nails I was left with. Paraffin hand treatment. The lotion and hot towel with hot stone massage (all that nonsense) and a back massage while you are getting all of that handled. She polished my nails a very nice nude color and I left. The next day, I got a full set of acrylics elsewhere. Now, if you LIKE the way gel nails sit on your hands? That's great! This is probably the salon for you. For me? I didn't care for it as my nails looked like they were about to fly off my fingertips at the angle they were. But I will say that Anna was a very lovely lady and she was very sweet. I wanted to book another appointment but they do no to acrylics which I wanted to go back to. I walked in and I asked for help finding a rose gold color and they completely dismissed me and worked on a different customer. My nail tech then asked me what color I wanted I told her I wanted rose gold and she just handed me the colors without helping me. They moved me 3 times. I felt like i wasn't a valued customer.
