Their staff was most willing to help with selection and advice, although the emphasis of the store appears to be on self-service, since there has been only one staff member on duty at the two times I visited this past week. I was starting to browse around town looking for alteration options for a bridesmaid dress. I went…read moreto 2 places in Austin and the price just sounded ridiculous compared to what I paid for the dress. One bridesmaid suggested I drive down to her alteration place in San Marcos, Special Occasions. I called beforehand to verify their hours and said I would be coming in that weekend to try it on for a quote. The bride ended up coming with me because she had a few things to alter as well. The dress was way too big on me and too long. I was provided a very acceptable price and received friendly service. It was around thanksgiving and I was in no rush, so it was about 2 weeks before I could get back down there on a weekend. It was well worth the travel. I tried it on before I paid for it and noticed it was still a bit big in the waist, so she said she will fix it immediately if my friend and I wanted to grab lunch nearby. She stayed open past their closing time and called me back in about an hour. I didn't try it on again, I trusted her! And the dress fit me like a glove. I've worn it to 2 weddings now and even throughout washes everything stayed taught. Highly recommend this place.
