That would have been impossible for us because I am 81 years old and am a heart patient and have blood cancer. My wife is 79 years old and walks with cane. There was no way we could manage luggage and other baggage to the fourth floor. We asked if we could cancel the reservation, and the desk clerk said she cancelled it for us. However, we were still charged $194.97, even though we did not stay at the hotel. I worked through Priceline to obtain a refund, but the hotel has refused to refund the charge. I also have filed a dispute with my bank. My advice is do not stay at this hotel!

It had new carpet that felt clean. Even the bathroom looked okay at a glance, and I was quite amused to find the same sliding shower doors my home had in the 1970s and 80s. BUT: walking around barefoot, I soon discovered that the area around the toilet was sticky (gross!!!). The toilet had, at best, rust stains that looked bad. Paint on the ceiling was peeling. And the caulk around the shower and toilet was both moldy and failing badly. The area under the sink was very dirty too. And the lamp beside my bed didn't work. The breakfast was okay for a free breakfast, but didn't compare well vs. the offerings of peer hotel chains. The sausage was as good as I've had at a hotel, but the scrambled eggs, sitting in water, were very unappealing. I'd gladly give up the little can of Pringles and the cute towel-dog in exchange for an actually-clean floor in the bathroom.

The kitchen area had a mini fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. There were plenty of places for everyone's phone/watch chargers. Everything was clean. A/C was cold. We did have to ask for a few more washcloths and towels, since we were 5 people, but the front desk took care of it. The hotel seemed quite full (we saw at least two high school teams there), yet we did not hear lots of noise, and had no problems getting a good night's sleep. Breakfast is included in your stay. Even with the two large groups staying at the same time as us, the breakfast was refilled often, so we were still able to enjoy all the choices available. There was bacon, omelets, toast, muffins, bagels, scones, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, waffles, fruit, coffee, tea, juice, and water. The breakfast attendant did a great job. This was a great stay after a full day of driving! I would highly recommend staying here.

It was really firm mattress, no padded top of any kind, and the pillows and sheets were really low thread count stuff. The pillows were small and had those billowy, rough, pillow covers on them. Not very comfortable, at all. The pillows were also very soft, like envelop your head completely soft. The sheet and the blanket/cover was the same. I rarely use anything but the sheet in hotels nowadays, but it was rough as well. Thankfully I was just there for the night, but I would have hated to have a multi night stay here with the bed accommodations. I can kind of understand the possible reason for this. The parking lot had to be 75% full of company work trucks, so that has to be the predominate clientele in this town. Maybe they don't want to invest a lot in something that might have to be changed a lot, I dunno. My fridge was kinda noisy till I dealt with it, (don't ask how) but other than that and the bed, everything was pretty good. Could've used some curtains that blocked out the sun better, but whatever. I also was a little miffed at while going through the TV channels, I saw something I wanted to watch but when I chose it I got a message that said "to watch this channel, call and upgrade to higher video service". You gotta be kidding me, what a racket. I honestly wouldn't stay here again voluntarily. There are togo bags ready with a breakfast option at the front desk if you are rushing out. The area is big and has a fireplace also with big couches. They have hand sani and wipies within reach at every floor, what a way to go above and beyond for us. The do not disturb pet door signs are adorable. Inside the elevator, they have a list of things to do while you're in town. I recommend the Frontier Texas! center on your way out of town. Overall the room was great and affordable, with a whirl tub, coffee maker, fridge, microwave and a couch. They have ramen if you get lazy and don't want to get dinner.

It's kind of like 'Taste of the Woodlands' and other 'Taste of (city)" style event and our own 'Taste of San Angelo' with over 2,000 attendees and over 48 esteemed food vendors. San Angelo also has this worthy cause that I'm writing about. I just wanted to share are experience and band all the Tastyliciousness we enjoyed. If you hear of a similar event in your area, go and check it out - you will be amazed, your tummy filled and your heart will make you proud. Please read on and Enjoy - = = = Saturday "Savor San Angelo" held a benefit for "Meals for the Elderly" at San Angelos 'McNease Convention Center' with the Title Sponsor being 'Harper Funeral Home'. This is an Annual Event and it features Chefs in San Angelo who provide Meals for Seniors and the attendees this day get to sample all the Deliciousness these Chefs create - and you can go back for more. They also have Wine, Beer, Coffee, Teas & Waters for you - it's All Good Stuff. They also provided various forms of Entertainment for everyone - "Susan Kolb" / Facebook (musician) - then SuSan Kolb - she was absolutely Awesome. 'The Lake View Mariachi' / Facebook / Band - who performed many numbers and this group is the Best Mariachi Band EVER. They were booked for 'Five Performances' this day. Also performances by Lisa & Mark Lesosky (guitar & vocalist) and Quang Le & Dan Tranh. Savor San Angelo knows how to entertain their attendees - and we attendees loved it all. My Wife and I were overwhelmed at all the Tastyliciousness created by these Chefs and it was a Huge turn-out. Arrived and there were not many cars in the parking lot. As the reviews say, it doesn't look like much on the outside, but the food is really good. I think it looks very quaint on the outside, but inside looks like it was thrown together. Just inside the door is a pile of busted-up cardboard boxes lying on the floor. The place across the street is "Ban Moon", a Lao & Thai Restaurant, which has also been recommended for us to try. Their parking lot is full. Putting Ban Moon on the list. Bubba's Smokehouse dining room is filled with small tables and chairs, not much of anything else. There is a large cooler with lots of Brisket ready to be seasoned and smoked, along with large containers of Potato Salad and even larger containers of their Beans - and lots of containers of Pickles. Nice. They do have a loaf of white bread at each table for you to use at will, along with a roll of paper towels. The menu board is above the small counter where you order. My Wife went with the Brisket Sandwich with one side and chose Cole Slaw. I ordered their 2-meat plate, Brisket and Chicken. I asked if they had Moist Brisket, and the lady taking our order paused and said, well, the brisket is, well, moist. This also comes with 2 sides. I chose Beans and Cole Slaw. We also ordered 2 drinks, Diet Cokes. Orders are in, and we grabbed a table, which was easy because no one was sitting down. The aroma from the kitchen is filling the room, and it smells good. I grabbed a couple of containers of Pickles and White Onion pieces, and some silverware. Wasn't long before our food arrived in take-out containers, which is the best way to serve food at a BBQ place - no mess. My Wife's 'Moist' Brisket Sandwich has a lot of sliced Brisket piled up high, more than the other BBQ places around here, and a small container of Cole Slaw. My 2 Meat Plate has a Very Large Chicken Leg & Thigh with 2 slices of 'Moist' Brisket under. Speaking of Moist, I don't think these employees here know what Moist Brisket is because the Brisket we received is sliced regular Brisket. I first tried the Cole Slaw, and it is good. Love the juiciness and the fresh crunch. My Wife also liked the Cole Slaw. The Beans are a little dry and not much flavor until you get down to the juice in the bottom of the small container. My Large Chicken Leg and Thigh are just about lukewarm, with the leg being on the cold side. There is nothing wrong with eating cold chicken, but it's not what you want when you go out to eat. It's nicely seasoned and is Very Meaty - I like that. The Chicken itself is on the dry side, but I like the seasoning of the skin. The "Moist" Brisket is also dry because it's not a Moist Brisket, and a little tough, not tender at all, and it lacks any flavor. They do have 3 sauces for you at the table with a bottle of store-bought hot sauce. One sauce is Regular, and it's okay in flavor. The next one up is, I think, Spicy Sauce (the markings are wearing off), and it's not much different than the regular sauce. The sauce marked 'Hot' is on the mild side, but overall, they are all pretty good and provide added flavor to a not-so-flavorful brisket. I didn't try the store-bought hot sauce. The Pickles are delicious, with a nice crunch, and the white onion has very little onion heat to them, but they also have a nice crunch. The best I can say is that we tried Bubba's Smokehouse, but I doubt we will return. The best thing on our plates was the Cole Slaw, but my Wife did enjoy her sliced Brisket Sandwich, and she tried all of their sauces, regular, spicy, and hot. I ate one of the slices of Brisket along with a few bites of Chicken. The rest I'm taking home to see what I can do to improve what I can. Bubba's Smokehouse is not what we expected, especially since it has been recommended to us several times. We have yet to find a really good BBQ place in San Angelo, but we will stick to the one we usually attend until we do. Wherever we go out to eat, we always have fun and enjoy the outing. The Staff at Bubba's is very friendly.
