Jumped on train. Came to Mineola and had dinner at the St. James. Sat at the bar. Bartender was very attentive. Fun to talk to. Had bowl of chicken soup. AMAZING!!! Had appetizer of chicken wings. DELICIOUS!! Wings had a little crisp to them. Which I love. Forgot to take a pic of the wings but they were really good!!

My friend suggested coming here Ford brunch after aimlessly driving around. It's was such a great choice! I got the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon on a waffle bc I'm not a huge English muffin person and OMG best I've had! She got the French toast which she loved it and looked so good too!

There are a lot of saints out there, but one that I always hear about is St. James. On Long Island you'll find that name all over, between the hamlet/town, brewery, and a few restaurants. This (or The) St. James happens to be located in Mineola and was dinner for my girlfriend and I a few weeks ago. The consensus was this St. did a bang up job. For starters, The St. James totally taps into that tavern/pub feel. The decor and setup is cozy and there's a hint of "regulars" that keep the place busy. Luckily, it wasn't too hoppin' on a Thursday night and so we sat right away. Our initial waiter came by, asked us about drinks, took our order, and then disappeared. Well, we saw him again, but in street clothes and probably at the end of his shift. A different waiter (waitress) picked up our table and was friendly enough. Part of why we came was my mother raving about their French onion soup and my girlfriend desiring it. We began with a crock of that and it definitely hit the spot with its cheesy topping and tasty broth. For main meals, the GF went for the grilled chicken tidbits and I ended up in the water with fish and chips. Her tidbit sandwich had tender chicken pieces with crispy onion straws and melted mozzarella on garlic bread. I took a bite and found it was a great combo of flavors. My fish scared me at first from its shape as they almost looked a little too formed (i.e. perhaps they were frozen), but upon first bite it tasted the exact opposite of this. Nice and flaky fish with some good tarter and fresh coleslaw on the side made for a lovely meal. Oh and don't forget the thick cut French-ish fries that came with both our meals. Overall, The St. James brought a little more meaning into the name through a delicious dinner and comfortable setting. Prices were also legitimate though we were rockin' a Groupon so many of our dollars stayed safe in our wallets. Regardless, I'd pay full price for this meal and probably will one day because a return trip is in order. Now if only they could start selling St. James beer....

Amazing food and drinks. Will definitely be going again. Price are convenient, good ambience.

Perfect place for a date night! The beer garden has a tent with heaters so I highly recommend sitting there. Great food. Excellent service.

He requested a surprise birthday candle in the cake and they also put it on a plate that says happy birthday. Really nice presentation! He unfortunately didn't love their version of fra diavolo because it has a ton of peppers. Otherwise it was tasty, he just picked out most of the peppers. The seafood in it was cooked well and he said the shrimp was his favorite part. We also added extra tapas - -brussels sprouts (VERY good) -baked clams (these have stuffing with shrimp and a slice of bacon on top. We actually didn't like these, would prefer clams without a pile of stuffing).

I was supposed to transfer at Jamaica but didn't realize until it was too late. Mineola was the next stop, so I got off and waited for my ride to accommodate me. It was hot as balls out and I was thirsty, and the thought of a cold beer while waiting the extra 20 minutes for my ride to get here sounded lovely, honestly. I was a little unsure about sitting at the bar alone at a spot I'd never been to before, but saw there was an outdoor table in the semi shade that I could grab (as long as I was fine with sipping beer out of a plastic glass). In retrospect I should've asked about specials, but I just went with my go-to Heineken which set me back $7. I wasn't mad about it. The bartender was friendly, though I did feel like I kind of interrupted a personal conversation she was having with a man at the bar who seemed to be a local. Can't speak to the food but their menu did look good. Not a bad stop, overall. I feel very recovered.

The fries were fantastic in every way. The chili was delicious, the bacon was fantastic and crispy, the cheese was melted fantastically, the gravy and cheddar were delicious. In every way these were fantastic, and they gave enough for a meal! The corned beef was a bit hard, but that's a personal preference and by no means bad. Cooked very well, had fantastic flavor, and the bread was great too. The fries were very soft and crispy, and everything was great overall. The garlic bread was delicious, incredibly buttery, all the items in stew were soft but not too soft, and all of them were fantastic. The potatoes, the celery, the carrots, the onion, and the beef were all wonderful. The stew was a bit hot, but there's nothing wrong with that as that's the point of ordering food! The irish bread was delicious. It was soft but also crispy in every bite, it was definitely made fresh that night. The bar was full but we still managed to get a table, the service was very attentive, we got refills quickly, the food came out hot and fresh, and was absolutely wonderful, this place is absolutely a hidden gem that deserves all the business it can get.

It is located right on Jericho Turnpike and while there is no dedicated lot, there is plenty of street parking on Jericho Turnpike and the side streets. You can feel the electricity in the air as soon as you walk in. Cornerstone is especially great on game days as there are more TV screens around than I can count. This evening we came in for a light snack and knew exactly what we were having. Onion soup and wings. The waiter / bartender let us sit for a while to talk and relax then took our order. Onion soup with the cheese grilled just a little more than usual and wings just a little more crispy than usual. Soup was amazing and my wife and I really enjoyed it.
