The interior has the beautiful ambiance of a high-end cigar lounge paired with an incredible bar. They have an enormous selection of great bourbons, whiskeys, and some truly phenomenal tequilas. There is also a great lounging area in the back with plenty of TVs--they had the March Madness games on while we were there, but I could easily see this being the go-to spot for Sunday football or just a place to relax any day of the week. We chose to sit outside, where the vibe felt like a perfect local hangout. We met some great people who mentioned they are regulars, which says a lot about the atmosphere. While we originally only planned to stop by for a drink or two before heading to dinner, we ended up staying much longer because we were having so much fun. A huge plus is their Happy Hour, which runs until 7 PM every day--at that point, why would we go anywhere else? I can't recall the bartenders' names, but they were all super friendly and accommodating. A few friends tried the specialty cocktails and said they were fantastic. We tried their feature shot per the bartenders recommendation, the "Hello Good Night." It was hands down the best shot I've ever had--I would honestly return just for that! They also had an extensive beer selection. I highly recommend this bar to anyone living in the area or just visiting. We will definitely be back!

The staff are super nice, and the bartender gave a great drink recommendation based on what I told him I was looking for. They have game consoles with an insane variety of games throughout the bar and seating area, which are all open to play for free. They have any game you could ever want-PlayStation, Nintendo, sega, etc, and board games to play as well. They have a ton of fun events every month: trivia, bingo, karaoke-always with different themes. If you're looking for something fun to do, I promise this is your place. A million stars!

I've been here before and had a decent experience, but this visit was disappointing enough that I…read morelikely won't return. We came as a group of five. Two of us ordered drinks right away and sat at the bar playing video games. The rest of our group was still deciding what they wanted, which we understood fell under the one drink minimum per person rule. One friend sat with us at the bar while we had our drinks and was told by the bartender that she couldn't sit there without purchasing a drink, so she moved. She then stood near our other friends, who were playing an arcade game, and they were told they could not play unless they each bought a drink. At this point, they stood behind us at the bar to look over the menu and decide what they wanted, but that didn't seem to matter. The bartender repeatedly returned and escalated the situation instead of allowing any reasonable time to order, stating they could get water if they wanted and that it did not have to be alcoholic. After only a couple of minutes, the same bartender came out from behind the bar again and said in a rude, condescending tone that they "don't understand... if they don't buy a drink, then they can't even be in the building." Our friends explained that we had already purchased drinks and were simply deciding what we wanted, but at that point, they were turned off by his behavior and no longer wanted anything--and frankly, neither did we. We cashed out our tab, finished our drinks, and left. We were already paying customers and would have ordered more drinks, but the handling of the situation made that impossible. Instead, the business lost not only our additional sales, but also several friends who were planning to join us and spend money. We are local to the area and not teenagers causing a disturbance, which is what the situation felt like when our friends were told to leave for no clear reason. I understand house rules like a one-drink minimum, but there is a professional way to enforce them. This wasn't it. Not everyone can or wants to order immediately--whether due to preferences, pacing, or dietary restrictions--and the lack of flexibility or basic courtesy was disappointing. Instead of encouraging guests to stay and order more, the approach did the opposite. Unfortunately, this experience completely changed my impression of the place, and I don't see myself returning. There are other spots in the area with a similar concept that offer a much more welcoming and customer-friendly experience, and I would recommend exploring those instead.

I headed to Blue Jean Blues in Fort Lauderdale specifically to check out the Valerie Tyson Band after a local friend highly recommended them. We drove up from Miami and they did not disappoint--they brought all the energy and put on an amazing performance! It happened to be Ms. Annie's birthday, so the band and the crowd were especially lively and fun. The Food (The 1-Star Dock): I'm docking the venue one star because they really need to step up their food game. There were four of us at our table, we all arrived hungry, and unfortunately, none of us were satisfied with our meals. Between us, we ordered the wings, cheese sticks, the chicken quesadilla, and a wedge salad with shrimp. For a venue like this, executing solid, good-quality bar food should be a given. As for my choice, the wedge salad was a total miss--the tomatoes were overly ripe (and not in a good way, I couldn't tell if they were in a strange marinade or just too ripe), and the lettuce wedge lacked appropriate crispness, arriving more like a flat pancake instead of a wedge. Now, I will say, as a self-proclaimed French fry connoisseur, the side of fries we ordered was actually pretty good! (Gotta mix the good with the bad, right?) But the rest of the menu definitely needs some major improvement. Pro-Tip: Be incredibly careful with parking out here and make sure you pay! I saw two different meter maids actively writing tickets while we were there. Don't let an expensive parking ticket ruin a great night of music. Return Factor: I would absolutely come back to Blue Jean Blues to see the Valerie Tyson Band again, especially if I'm staying right here in Fort Lauderdale next time!
