We decided to check out Vega Lounge with a group of about 8 of us, and this place was absolutely amazing! The interior has the beautiful ambiance of a high-end cigar lounge paired with an incredible bar. They have an enormous selection of great bourbons, whiskeys, and some truly phenomenal tequilas. There is also a great lounging area in the back with plenty of TVs--they had the March Madness games on while we were there, but I could easily see this being the go-to spot for Sunday football or just a place to relax any day of the week. We chose to sit outside, where the vibe felt like a perfect local hangout. We met some great people who mentioned they are regulars, which says a lot about the atmosphere. While we originally only planned to stop by for a drink or two before heading to dinner, we ended up staying much longer because we were having so much fun. A huge plus is their Happy Hour, which runs until 7 PM every day--at that point, why would we go anywhere else? I can't recall the bartenders' names, but they were all super friendly and accommodating. A few friends tried the specialty cocktails and said they were fantastic. We tried their feature shot per the bartenders recommendation, the "Hello Good Night." It was hands down the best shot I've ever had--I would honestly return just for that! They also had an extensive beer selection. I highly recommend this bar to anyone living in the area or just visiting. We will definitely be back! read more

Great location on E Atlantic Blvd in Pompano Beach. While sitting at another patio bar I could smell a strong scent of burning cigars coming from next door and got excited to smoke one inside. Noticed a few customers laughing and smoking cigars on the patio. I walk inside and noticed arcade games on one side (Galaga my favorite) and a small nice lit up liquor bar in the front room. A humidor containing several types of cigars was positioned next to the bar, but nobody smoking any cigars inside. So, slightly confused if its a cigar bar or merely a basic full liquor bar where customers could purchase cigars and smoke outside - probably this one. The female bartender confirmed my suspicion. Stumbled upon this place after leaving the Amphitheatre. Old Fashioned's are my poison of choice and our bartender made them to delicious perfection. While this place is cozy, there's quite a bit of seating available at the bar, as well as the high tops indoors and outside. Adjacent to the bar, there's another room with sofas, wide armchairs, multiple TVs and a dart board. Prices were reasonable. Staff was pleasant. Worth checking out if you're in the area! read more

Pretty cool spot for a drink. They have an extensive drink menu to include a nice Pappy selection. Albeit kind of skimpy 1 ounce pours of the Pappy products, they are decently priced compared to other prices I've seen them for at bars and restaurants. I splurged and had the Van Winkle(10 year bourbon) which was $25. I almost went for the Pappy 20 but it was $70 for the one ounce pour and I wasn't feeling that generous that night. The Van Winkle was good and I'm happy I tried it but honestly you're better off just getting a lower end bourbon like Bulleit. The pours are more generous at two ounces and very decently priced at about $8. I'm not a smoker but they do offer cigars here and have a patio for smokers. My buddy had a nice $20ish cigar that he said was only marked up a couple dollars which is rare at a bar according to him. Anyway if your looking for a place to grab a nightcap at or if you're looking for a spot to spend the whole night at, this is a good place to choose. Cool cocktail spot with a NYC vibe in a strip mall just west of the Atlantic Ave bridge. Nice selection of cocktails with a somewhat limited selection of beer and cigars. Seating indoors at the bar, high tops or couches in a separate area. TVs are on with live sports. I ordered their Manhattan up twice. First one was just right and a generous pour, right to the top of the coupe. 2nd order-different bartender. Less generous pour and light on the whiskey. When the 2nd bartender asked me how the drink was (I had told her previously that the first one was great), I said it wasn't the same pour as the first one. Her comment was "other than that, how is it?" Really? A good bartender would have immediately topped off the drink in order to make the customer happy and benefit from a more generous tip. Whatever. If you're looking for craft cocktails in a semi speakeasy bar, then this is the place for you. This was recommended by a friend and so glad to be able to come here and experience this. The bartender was very knowledgeable about her alcohol; she was definitely a connoisseur and knew her liquor. We went in Saturday afternoon and they were having happy hour on well drinks. They had a menu with all craft cocktails being $12. There were other options such as regular drinks and wine. The twelve dollar drinks were reasonable because they used top shelf liquor and the drinks were strong in a good way. There's also a lot of time and effort with prepping these drinks. The first drink I ordered was the Satin Doll. It had egg white and fresh strawberries in it. Next, I decided to order a gin and soda drink using The Botanist gin; amazingly good with an orange and lime peel. Finally, I had to partake in trying out their chocolate whiskey; YES, whiskey and chocolate lovers, this is your drink. It was called the chocolate old fashioned and I'm not a fan of old fashioned but I'm definitely a fan of this drink. Overall, the service and drinks deserve an A plus. The only downfall was, they allowed cigar smoking in there and the smoke started to bother me after a while since this patron was smoking like a chimney one cigar after the other lol; we went outside to sit at a table and it was a pleasant day for the fresh air and enjoying some cocktails. Vega is a neighborhood like cigar bar, and as such they strict enforce it. No cigarette or pipe smoking inside; cigar smoking only! You can smoke cigarettes or pipes out on their plaza sidewalk patio, but don't even think of trying to do that inside because they'll either make you get out or put it out. As a cigar bar, it's friendly enough, has a humidor thing but it looks more like a small soda pop cooler with a about the smallest selection of cigars of any cigar bar I've ever been at. However, for a small selection, nicely varied. It's a full liquor bar and the drinks they serve are pretty good, the bartenders do a decent pour, are polite and mannerly. The ambiance is fairly decent, dark themed, nothing modern, has good bar stools, a decent chairs, a comfortable and relaxing sofa. The walls are adorned with some artwork, mostly of fish skeletons, rather amateurish in my opinion, all posted for sale by the artist with prices generally in the area of $550. I kind of like the place but can't say I'm a fan of it either because as cigar bars or cigar smoking lounges go there are better choices, but most of those are beer and wine only. So, the only thing that sort of sets Vega apart from the others is that it has a full service bar. read more
