I would not recommend this group EVER!!!! For the last year - I have been dealing with a bill from stein dental group. I have not visited them since 2019-I called and emailed several times no one returned my calls. In March I finally posted a review. Dr. Stein himself called me after seeing the. review. He asked me to take it down and he would "handle": my bill that he would make sure it was cleared up and that the bill would be cleared and make sure that I owed nothing. Forward to today. I trusted the owner of this establishment Took down my review. He did not own up to his promise of deleting what his billing department said I "owed" I have since moved (been divorced since 09) I got a bill in the mail that only tooik 200 off the bill then I got another bill for my ex husband (he has not moved in more that 20 years) at my new address with the full amount Dr. Stein said he would delete because I do. not owe it period. My ex husband does not owe it either. So I called three times no one supposidly gave the doctor the message so I went in yesterday. Dr stein said I have patinent and I am busy this weekend can I call you next week. I he said "trust me" I did and you failed. I then asked him why would someone change my ex husbands address. his excuse was they were updated the computer system. well the computer system doesnt change addresses by themselves do they? and that is also why my bill wasnt cleared mmmmm well it took off 200 and gave it to my ex husband. what a excuse. read more

I recently saw Dr. Debbie Stein for a root canal, and I'm honestly blown away by how smooth the entire experience was. From the second I walked in, she made me feel completely at ease. She explained everything clearly, checked on me constantly, and worked with such a calm confidence that I never felt nervous for a single minute. The procedure itself was quick, comfortable, and far easier than I expected. What really stood out, though, was how genuine she is -- she treated me like a person, not just another appointment on the schedule. It's rare to find a specialist who is both incredibly skilled and truly caring, but Dr. Stein is exactly that. If you need a root canal and you're dreading it, go to her. I got one wisdom tooth removed at this clinic. When they put local anesthesia in my gum, they went too far and hit a nerve This led to my jaw locking. The worst part was that my jaw stayed locked for 3-4 weeks. I could open it maybe the size of a Cheeto puff and every movement of my mouth hurt tremendously. As you can imagine, this made it very difficult to talk. I was out of work for most of this time due to the pain and not being able to talk They tried to charge me for the whole bill and I politely asked for small compensation for their mistake. Dr stein said absolutely not and if I chose to go to court there's no chance I would win Eventually we did settle for like a $50 discount on a much larger bill. He was also very condescending on the phone and unpleasant to talk to. After begging them for weeks to provide me with a fix, a dental hygienist put his hands in my mouth and pulled my jaw apart. I have never felt pain like that in my life and he laughed at me while doing it. I genuinely screamed from the pain. 3-4 weeks of eating mashed potato's and struggling to talk. Genuinely one of the worst times of my life. I still think about it often to this day. This is a very predatory and money hungry dental practice. I have not been to a dentist since that surgery because I genuinely feel traumatized. And THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU Please please please do not go to this practice. Disgusting behavior and incredibly rude and unpleasant people. Especially dr stein himself. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. I am still traumatized years after a horrific experience that I will describe below: After spending and excruciating 3 hours getting fillings done by Stein himself, as he came in and out of my room to talk with people (as i lay there just waiting and as the numbing meds were wearing off), and joking to me about it, I left unable to floss between two teeth since he set the filling in the space between my teeth, and an ACTUAL VISIBLE HOLE STILL IN ONE OF MY TEETH. When this happened to me years back, left a bad review on this platform with a picture of the hole, which was blatantly obvious that it was not supposed to be there. They called me and told me another dental person would fix all the fillings Stein failed at doing for free. So i went back to have them UNDONE and REDONE properly. After I had the fillings "fixed," Stein had his assistant harass me over the phone every day regarding taking down the bad review I left. After multiple calls and threats that HE was going to sue ME (I was also informed that "he has a lot of money and a lot of connections"), i deleted the review. I wish i kept the photo because it was really unbelievable unless you saw it. He thought since I was a young female, he could just bully me into silence, which initially worked. Additionally, he only used TOPICAL NUMBING MEDICINE, NOT THE SHOT they put in your gums to make it so you dont feel anything. Since this was the first time i had to get cavities filled as an adult, I didnt know that the injection even existed until i told my horror story to my new dentist. Since this incident, I have tremendous PTSD regarding dental care because of him and this practice. He bullies people that leave bad reviews, including MULTIPLE family members and friends of mine. He is a crook and he must have paid some of those "important" connections to remain in business this long. read more

I would like to give my full-throated recommendation for the doctors at Stein Dental. Having had dental challenges for decades I was finally faced with getting a permanent bridge implant. The process is expensive and takes several months from start to finish. I started with Dr. Allaeb, the oral surgeon. Honestly, he was very through in explaining the process and completing the work. After that initial procedure I received a temporary bridge that I was not happy with - the lab they were using for the prosthetics did not do a very good job. I was concerned and decided to get a second and third opinion. Both doctors I visited complemented Dr. Allaeb's work. One of the practice's offered to finish the job with the permanent bridge at more than twice the price I was quoted from Dr. Stein's office. As luck would have it, Stein's JoAnne Arnold reached out to let me know they had secured a new prosthetics lab that used 3-D scanning, and they would honor their quote to complete the project. I was skeptical but decided to give them another try - primarily due to JoAnne's kindness. I met with Dr. Daniels who brought in Felipe from the new lab and walked through the process. Let me tell you - the process and the final result was well worth it. The 3-D scanning was incredible, and the bridge fit perfectly, not one adjustment was needed. I was so surprised since the bridge had to line up perfectly with the implants. It did. The bridge looks great and feels great - like my own teeth, but much better! We were done in three weeks. The price was right but, more importantly, the final result is great. I am glad I went back to Dr. Stein's and recommend them to anyone wanting professional work, performed by a talented and caring team. I had a great cleaning with hygienist Eddie at The Stein Dental Group this morning. I am a bit sensitive to cold water so, it didn't bother me that he didn't use a cavitron and preformed and old school cleaning. I was very pleased with the results. Dr. Michael Stein is a hoot and has a great bed side manner. Also, he took his time going over his concerns and discussed a treatment plan that I agree with. I didn't feel pressured To take immediate action ( although it is recommended)- we will see what the insurance will cover and then 'move forward. Unprofessional and dirty. Office is grimy and appts always run 15-30 min behind schedule. We were at this practice for 10 years and finally decided to leave. The straw the camel's back is the addition of a new dentist, Dr. Daniel who is unprofessional and scares children. She pinched my daughter after telling her she was going to insert a needle in her mouth to numb her teeth. Went in fir a cavity filling procedure that should have been straightforward but off the bat, Dr. Daniel exhibited that she didn't know what she is doing. read more

I DO NOT recommend here, I would recommend you RUN the other way as FAST as you can!!! Dr Allaeb preformed a wisdom tooth surgery three years ago getting 3 taken out at once. It was one of the worst experiences I've ever gone through. They let me suffer and were horrible to me. They forgot to give me proper cleaning instructions which made me get infected. They only told me to swish mouthwash, including a take home care sheet that only said swish mouthwash. Nothing was said about using a syringe to stick in and flush the wound. They also didn't give me syringe. A few days after the surgery I started feeling something was going very wrong. When I called and told them, they belittled me and ignored for over a week. The worst agony I've ever experienced. Inhumane amount of pain. I was calling and begging for help every day. (This was during lockdown, so I could not go anywhere else, including ER). They made me feel like I was annoying them, they were horribly nasty and dismissive every time I called. I was not sleeping or eating for all these days because of the pain. They finally let me come in after days of calling and realized their error. "Were you using the syringe?" Dr. Allaeb asked me. What syringe? They never gave me one. So, they cleaned out my wound properly and the pain subsided finally. Only now I had a huge lump on my chin, like an egg. They told me I might need to have surgery on it but they decided against that. They said it would take another 6 months to heal (it was supposed to be a 2 week healing process). I lost my job from all the time taken off. I was so sick after the surgery, like I had never been in my life. "6 months healing" but it kind of just never got better. This is THREE YEARS AGO and I am still not better. My entire life and body has changed since after this surgery. Its a nightmare. My reviews get deleted every time I write. I feel like I've been stolen from, violated and I have no voice. I have medical trauma and PTSD from the entire thing. I will never get accountability but at VERY LEAST people should know what happened so they can stay safe themselves. Please be safe everyone. read more

Would not recommend this practice. They traumatized my 5 year old son saying he needed a filling and during the procedure were rude and impatient when he was anxious. Finally tried nitrous but the machine looked dirty and worn. Ended up leaving and getting a second opinion. Next place said he didn't even need a filling! In addition, they caused my older child much anxiety with unnecessary procedures, and incorrectly performed dental procedures that led to her teeth being messed up. I have been a patient of Dr Stein since moving to CT about 10 years ago. Due to poor dental work as a child I have had a lot of corrective work to be done. The Dr and his practice have always been good about working within the limits of my insurance as well as providing quality work. My wife was also a patient of the practice while she had progressive ALS. She was in a wheelchair and had limitations due to her condition, but they were very accommodating and worked with her needs. Had some work done at Stein Dental Group and the Dentist I had was Dr. Jacob Alleab, On one visit he is working in my mouth and he says to his assistant "Who the hell sanitizes this equipment" I'm hopeful that he meant that the equipment was very clean / sterilized but when I asked what he meant he would not answer me. On the next visit The Doctors female assistant was in the examination room and when she left the room Dr. Jacob Alleab says to me "Fucking woman, I have to deal with them all fucking day in this place" I still can't believe he said that, how stupid can you be to think that but to actually say it to a patient is incomprehensible and very sad in the year 2021. read more

Painless root canal safely in the middle of a pandemic! OMG I was in such pain and suffering with a tooth that clearly needed a lot of help. My whole jaw hurt. Dr Steve Wechsler took very good care of me today. I was dreading going to a dentist given the Covid-19 scenario we are all living with. The office took great precautions and made me feel safe. Dr. Wechsler is a great guy who made me feel comfortable and took the time to numb me properly. The root canal was done, the numbing has worn off and I am as close to pain free as I've been in months already. Made a booking for a teeth cleaning on my Christmas break. The day before the appointment, I received a text stating that they were closing early for the holidays. I'm not really interested in dragging them under the bus, but to book an appointment and then cancel, telling the customer you need to reschedule, and then only having availability at 9 30 am is terrible. I've never had a place of business take a reservation and confirm it, just to decide they are closing earlier than planned. No, I cannot come at 9 30 am, thats why the original appointment was booked and confirmed for the 24th at 12:15pm, ON THE 21ST. Don't bother with holiday bookings. read more

As a severely dental phobic person I thought I'd made the righ choice with Dr Stein years ago, especially when I had a cavity, the first since childhood ( although he did insist I needed some kind of enamel filling for teeth that had receded a bit... no cavities, no sensitivity, no issues. Later another dentist told me that he was basically just robbing me blind for an unnecessary procedure. ) all this changed when in the middle of working on my tooth he notes fed m work badge and that I'm part of a hospice team. I was a patient with this group once and ended it all. The office was a true bait and switch regarding insurances. I took my whole family, they said they accepted my insurance and AFTER treatment they said they communicated in error. My bill was 3000 dollars and we paid it off. Now years later I read the comments placed on our community site NextDoor and nothing has changed. People are very unhappy for the most part. Here is the interesting part, I actually took up work in dentistry some 7 years after my visit to Stein and have worked with the DPH on cases involving treatment, finances and bad decisions. Maybe my experience with him was the trigger for me to do something right for patients. In closing, with so many bad reviews again, I would suggest those unhappy speak to the State so that an office Audit be launched into treatment diagnoses, billing, periodontal patient treatment and overall office hygiene. One of Dr. Stein's Dentists gave me a filling for a cavity. Two months later, I made an appointment because it felt like there was a popcorn kernel stuck in my tooth. Dr. Stein looked himself, said there was nothing wrong and gave me a mirror to see for myself. I asked him to check again because it was uncomfortable. He then realized the tooth was broken and had to be replaced, due to the oversized filling from just two months before. Just to be clear, I will not be calling back to make another appointment. Called earlier in the week for a cleaning. Got an appointment 2 days later. Great. Appointment at 930. Come in early to fill out paperwork. Was there at 915. A bunch of people in waiting room. Everyone went in but me at 930. 950 I went to front desk. Woman told me she would shift people around to get me in. I don't believe that.10 o'clock someone brought me in a room and said dr will be right in. Lie 2 Asked me if she should do x rays. I said last place sent them over. Can't remember when I had them last. She asked if I wanted them again. I don't know. I thought they would tell me I just had them done or I was do. It was so late already I said forget it. 10:10 I took bib off and walked to front desk and said it's been about an hour and I am not waiting anymore. One person said. The dr is coming. One person said they agree, it's not acceptable. We will make any other appointment for you. If someone had an emergency I have no problem waiting but I saw regular visits coming and going. I feel they double booked me and didn't want to admit it. I saw the dr take someone at 930 and I know appointments take 45 minutes and yes, the dr was going to be finished at 10:15 but after no one would admit they double booked me I was not waiting. My time is valuable too. They better not send me a bill and I should send them a bill for my time. Plus they lied that someone else was going to clean my teeth and dr was coming now. They caused more work than they fixed. Cleanings were always good. Just had to have root canal, crown and gum lengthening procedure all redone after they were originally done here. Instead of fixing an infection in my gum they continued on with a root canal in neighboring tooth. Won't be returning. Never got a call back from Dr. Stein to discuss why I wasn't returning. The two dentists I have visited since to correct issues cannot believe the condition my temporary crown was left in. read more
